I am currently living in another country and have been unable to get the amazon kindle app to word due to this. This is also an issue for me regarding books through the android market.
Was hoping that someone might be able to help me with a work around for this as I would love to be able get books on here...
Thanks for the help, always greatly appreciated.

Hey Guys.
I sent a feedback to Amazon Kindle letting them know how disappointed I was with them not having done an app for WM6.5
There response is as follows:
"Hello,
We've made no announcement about a Kindle application for WINDOWS 6.5 Phone, so I'm unable to answer your question. We're regularly working on improvements to your Kindle experience. I've let the Kindle team know you're interested in this application.
Customer feedback like yours helps us continue to improve the service we provide, I appreciate your thoughts, and I'll make sure your feedback is passed on to the Kindle development team."
It would seem that if many of us sent a request for this app, and offered enough "feedback" to do with disappointment.
So everyone please send them feedback!
Actually owning a kinde 3 wifi device, I now don't even need a Kindle-for-Kindle application .
There is a port of FBReader for Kindle that handles most popular eBook formats (epub, pdf, txt and most importantly for me fb2!)
It would be nice to have a kindle reader for winmo, but I don't see it happening. The BN ereader is too flawed, although the latest version was much better than previous ones. It's too bad that kindle and nook have basically killed ereader and mobipocket.
There's not way amazon is going to make a WM 6.5 app at this time.
But, there's a workaround (whether it's legal or not I don't know). You can remove DRM from kindle books through a set of tools (google "unswindle") and then read them with mobipocket.
Gotta be brutally honest here... don't waste your time emailing them or trying to get people to email them. There was an absence of big names on WinMo even when it was still thriving, there's no way they'd jump on board now... all development is going to Windows Phone 7. When was the last time you heard of an app from a big company being released for WinMo?
Having a hard time deciding whether to get the kindle fire or nook tablet. I was originally leaning toward the fire based on the amount of kindle e-books I already have and amazon prime content available to stream. However, I'm really not liking the offline usability of the fire (only 6.5GB usable storage and no SD slot).
So with that said, I think the nook tablet is the way to go, but I still need access to the kindle app. Doing some searches here leads to to believe this will only be possible by rooting the device. I thought that anything in the android market was fair game on the nook? no?
What do you all think. Anyone currently running the kindle app on the nook color? Did you have to root? Thanks in advance.
Its not that you 'have to root', its you WANT to root this device and unlock all its potential!
Currently, the only Market available to a stock Nook is the BN market...just the standard store. BN makes it 'difficult' for Nook users to get the Kindle app. Its not impossible, but if you are going down this road just to get the Kindle App, you might as well root the Nook.
Also, keep in mind that the Kindle App does not provide you the complete experience of the Amazon ecosystem. I'm not 100% sure what is missing but it is not 100% the same.
If I were in your position, I would research a way to convert your current files to a more friendly format. So you can purchase the hardware that you are comfortable with.
Most sites question the legality of removing the DRM from a file but as long as you do not re-distribute or start your own website of discount epub books, you should be okay. I would equate it with making a legal copy of a dvd for your own library.
right on... thanks for the replies.
I've actually ordered both, and plan to put them head-to-head (which is still less than an ipad). I really like the "amazon experience" idea and have had a kindle for years, but spend a decent amount of time in areas lacking wifi or even 3g signal. So I want the storage flexibility the nook offers. Really, I'm just glad I have to make this decision. Kudos to both companies.
That said, I will be reporting back with my findings.

Hello dear fellow Transformer Prime owners!! I just purchased one today for my wife to surprise her because she is starting up school again and she wanted a tablet, so what better than the Transformer Prime lol
My question is, I literally just opened the box... and I would really like to get it school-ready for her when she comes back, because she's starting this summer and she has classes starting next week.
Now what I mean by "school-ready" is simple, I would like her to be able to read e-books (because I am getting e-book version of her books that she needs for class) so that she can read them and use them, I would also like her to be able to use Word, Excel, Powerpoint, etc... is that possible on this tablet?
Because she has a writing class and she would like to be able to type essays and stuff on their.
So please help me and let me know how I can do all that, and if you have any other recommendations for the tablet to get it "school-ready", please share!!!
Thank you soooooooooooo much in advance, all help will be greatly appreciated

I have searched a bit but couldn't find an end all solution to what might be a rapidly evading problem but I recently purchased a book from the Kindle store and had it delivered to my phone. It would be nice if I could read it as a PDF [or anything, really] on my PC but my efforts have been fruitless. running a rooted T-Mobile Note 2 but I doubt that matters. Any tips? comments?
Hey is it possible to buy and or download samples from the Kindle Book Store? If so, how would I do this? Any help is appreciated.
Never mind I figured it out, just needed to switch current country and use Tunnel Bear VPN.
