Hi, I have an AT&T LG Phoenix I bought straight up without plan. Long story short I have flashed a gingerbread rom onto it, and now I get a greenish, and once the phone goes to sleep (black screen) I wake it up and stays black, although I know its working because the volume keys work. I can't seem to get hold of a stock rom from LG site. Any suggestions would be great. Thanks
LG-P505

Sent from my AT&T 4G ATRIX.
Did you flash a ROM that was made for the Phoenix or one for the p500? Cause that will give you problems if you flashed the p500 one.
For KDZ you can try this:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=865479
no kdz available for phoenix. you gotta find someone's backup files. someone posted before. you gotta restore with those files.
@rty1138, I found the source files for the rom but nothing else. So I went ahead and tried to setup a build environment for it, but Ubuntu doesn't play nice with Java 5 so kinda got stuck there. Help a buddy out!
I know about this link... http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=15986005
Edit: Nevermind. Fixed it!

I was wondering I'm looking to get into android development and I have a few questions that I was hoping someone could point me in the right direction?
I'm looking to make custom roms for the LG Phoenix P505 from scratch or use someones to learn how to? Tutorials or books or something would help, I'm not familiar with the code but I wanna learn so any help would be great, I'll be going into Computer Engineering Technology at a local college so I'm looking for a little head start in some areas.
I understand that a recovery menu or something around those guide lines is needed to use those custom roms? Is there one out for the P505 or is there a compatible one made from a previous rom?
I have the source code for the P505 its up on the LG open source website, can someone tell me what my next step would be?
url for LG Open Source: " lg.com/global/support/opensource/opensource.jsp"
I have the same phone but i cant find any support for recovery or roms! Can we get any help on that?
It would be nice, yeah... seeings how theres a fair amount of developers here,
even tellings us if someone is trying would be nice. I wouldn't mind
customizing my phone a bit more than what stock can do. So a shout
out to the developers, please let us know if anything is going on?
Or is everyone ditching this phone and going for the Thrive?
Any update on this?
I bought a Pheonix as my first android phone and would like to learn how to develop roms for it.
Unfortunately not that I know of, I haven't done any recent searching but yeah like you, the phoenix was my first phone too. Guess perhaps the devs don't wanna do anything for this phone?
Same here. There seems to be progress being made in this thread with the prepaid counterpart but this forum's pesky 10 post minimum doesn't allow me to post in that thread to glean some more information.
rom will be coming for this phone soon I'll make one. But how to you deodex a rom.

you can deodex files using this kitchen:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=633246
instructions can be found here (i believe for your scenario you only need to do steps 3 and 5 and your ready to go):
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=901417
Well, considering I already subscribed to this thread, I'll keep standing by.
yea giandeli we are all here by u! but please keep us updated! but shouldnt we first work on getting a kernel though n then a rom?
Well if its a modification of the original rom, can't you still use
the standard kernel? Or does it need some modification to it first?
i think the most important thing we need for ours is overclock cuz they are a bit slow but i think we need a kernel for that.
This guy is in agreement. Still waiting for something before I up and get another phone with support.
Well, its been two weeks. Is there any progress?
well it seems there is a rom made it isnt much but it is something heres a url:
forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1215542
Sweet. Going to check it out when I get home.
however i dont see any instructions to flash it or use it as an update,
so if you have any pointers that'd be great.
I'm in the same boat dude. I've been doing a ton of reading just haven't had the time to act on any of it.
So i have an easy way to get clockworkmod recovery on, however heres my dellema, will and At&T rom work on a rogers phone if it is not unlocked? So is it pointless then for me to install the Carlos rom for phoenix?
** as a note,
A: backups are great
B: AT&T roms on rogers stay stuck at the AT&T logo in a loop of sorts
C: so that means i guess i need help in cooking a rogers rom for my Phoenix... (any pointers/help)
For those that are willing to give it a shot, i sort of had a P500
rom working perfectly, display wise, on a P505....
This is what i did:
1. Installed ClockWorkMod for optimus one through android
market app "Rom Manager"
2. Downloaded the final release of "Devoid"
url: forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=887281
3. ***MAKE A NANDROID BACKUP***
4. Wiped data, cache, and Dalvik, as well as battery stats
5. install from sd the "devoid" rom zip
Now theres 2 possible routes here....
1. Reboot now, you get the funky cyan messed up video screen
2.... Advanced restore in CWM of your boot partition...
the second route fixed the display, but upon boot, it said the battery
was over heating... and did a shutdown... i have yet to do a boot
up with ac power only, to see if that effects it.
**If anyone can point this at some devs, this may be a possible
work around for some roms?
The rom was a Froyo 2.2 and my boot was for a rooted 2.2.2,
what implications does this have?
So yeah thought i'd post my finding and if anyone knows anything
to add onto this, i don't have 10 posts yet, so I cant put this in
the develop area
***As an update
The "Devoid" Final rom was working full on the P505 from the method above
only if it was plugged in to a power source... It gave 2 errors,
1. When it was plugged in, it said "heat sensor detected high
temps, remove battery and place in cool dry place"
2. When not plugged in, "Battery overheateing, shutting down for safety"
I have my friends att lg thrive 506 and I flashed the clockworkmod recovery for the optimus one and it looked distorted in color. I ignored it and flashed miks cyanogenmod, and it gave me the same problem in color distortion. So I restored a backup I made before flashing cyanogenmod and then I flashed a the clockworkmod for the optimus v (since rom manager gave me a lot of options for ones to flash, and that was the only other lg one.) Then I pushed reboot into recovery from rom manager and it got stuck at the lg splash for about 10 minutes then shut down. Now when I try to turn the phone on I get the same problem.
Is there anything I can do to fix this? If not I have to buy him a new phone full price, and I can't afford that. I'd be fine if it took him back to full stock and wiped all the data, right now the phone is screwed over. Please, any support is appreciated I really need this fixed.
Thanks in advance.
Also if this is in the wrong section, please move it mods.

Can u getting recovery atleast
Sent from my LG-P500 using XDA Premium App
No recovery just does the same thing a normal boot does. I haven't tried but when its turned on and pluged in to my computer, I may be able to use adb shell to view the normal system files but I don't think ill be able to see the critical files, like where the recovery is stored.
I use an HTC phone and know things like rru's let us flash stock roms like this and even revert to stock recovery, do any such things exist for this phone?
CHILL
perhaps u should use a kdz updater? remain calm and search it up. I fixed my phone that way too. Just don't bash your head like I did. :> But I'm not sure if there is one for yer model...........??? Hope this helps anyway...
Whatever you do, don't use any kdz updater. P506 kdz is not published, and p500 kdz will brick your phone.
If you only flashed a bad recovery you can fix it by re-flashing a correct one.
Your options, sorted by difficulty.
(1) remove/reinsert battery and reboot. If the rom boots fine (wacky colors or not), reflash Optimus One recovery from Rom Manager.
(2) remove/reinsert battery; use power+home to get to fastboot; now try (1) again.
(3) remove/reinsert battery; use power+home to get to fastboot. Connect usb and follow this. You'd probably be better off with the recovery here.
Once you fix your recovery, flash deodexed stock rom instead of CM7.
Drivers... -_-

Well thanks for this, but I can't preform the guide for one reason, drivers. I goto the lg site and get the drivers and I installed them, but I think the drivers are for when the phone can boot. And when I goto device manager, it shows up as android phone (with a ? as the icon)
So would someone be so kind as to share their driver for emergency mode with me? Thanks.
P.S. I am running Windows XP-Service-Pack-3, Intel Pentium 4-3.40-ghz-dualcore, 2048-mb-ram, 32-bit system
Edit:
I used my windows 7 laptop which auto-downloaded the drivers for me, then it worked like a charm, thank you very much.

Try disabling virtual modem.
Some background on my phone first. I thought that I bricked it a few weeks ago when I flashed a kernel for it that went to a fascinate. I thought that the showcase was and is a twin to it. But my phone would not boot up. Did some more research and ended up flashing CWM 3.0 and then PnP 3.0 and eb11 build and had a phone again. Well had no problems till yesterday when my phone just did a reboot by itself and then I had no service and under about phone several of the categories said unknown. I took it to cellsouth and left with a phone that would not even boot up! All I can do is boot in CWM but if I try flashing a anything it says either error with restoring boot image or something about updating sript and binary files. Can somebody help me out?
Check out this thread, second post after original op, it has files and process to odin the Showcase. This is most likely your best option. GO HERE
just found a link with the showcase stock file..im downloading now and will let you know if it works. had the same problem as you. now im using fascinate bases and cant get my 3g
Well I got it to where I can at least talk on it!... I flashed it back to a stock DL09 with odin. Which it now looks and acts just like a Verizon phone. So I can talk and text but has NO data of any kind unless I connect to wifi. I think that I need to flash a DJ20 or EB11 radio to it but not sure, Maybe somebody could lend there knowledge again. Thanks so far.
i was just like you...had to use that verizon rom. however i did find a c.south stock rom and got to normal.YES!! but still working on getting 3g back up. i think it messed up when i flashed another modem or somthing. i'll post link in a sec.

After i flashed tha rom i downloaded my phone got stuck on tha boot screen. I tried to do a restore but it says no backup "abort". I did a backup last night. So i know there is one. Do i jus need to reflash tha phone? Im confused
first of all, you're not supposed to flash anything in this forum. this forum is for p500 and p509.
second, if you cant boot past the splash screen, you're bricked. however, i think you can still boot into emergency mode. bad news is, you would only need that for kdz updater (which you can use to flash back the stock rom only if you have the kdz file, which i believe is not available for your phone)
Thanks for tha reply. My phone has been rooted and has cyanogen mod done. I can get to recovery screen so it could be easily done from what Ive read so far. I jus cant find my backup. Does anyone know where i can find tha stock firmware or rom for it?
if you go to nand restore, your backup should be there. if its not there, you either have to find a custom rom for the p506 (i dont think theres any) or you have to flash the p506 kdz file (which i tried to find for you but i cant. ill keep looking) using kdz updater
EDIT: check here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1087601
maybe you can ask kad_79 if he can make a nand backup for you to flash
Thanks for tha help. Ive been lookin everywhere myself. Not many people messing wit these phones. But i did find sum hacks for it before i tried tha rom. Im gonna do some more experimenting when i get my phone goin again. I dont wanna have to send it to lg. I asked him. Maybe if he dont have it someone else will.
Edit: Ok i found the original rom along wit many others. Its gonna take a while to download cuz im tethering with a slow sony ericsson phone. Cant wait to get android goin again!

glad i was able to help. just remember, before you flash any rom, make sure that its compatible with your phone
Its supposed to be tha stock rom. I know to verify my backups from now on. I will post tha link for tha rom when i get my thrive goin again. Ive seen other people lookin for it as well.
Its working!!!
Update: well after several days of trying to figure out how to use fastboot to flash this rom i got tired of searching. i went and got a sdcard reader transferred the zip file to my card and flashed with cwm recovery. My thrive is working like it should now. Im gonna back up everything and start some experimenting now. Thx for the help. anyone has anything they want tested for a p506 thrive, im willing to do it. thx for the help
Hello,
I have had my T-mobile LG P509 Optimus T for about a year now and I have had it rooted just as long. My husband plugged it into his PS3 the other day and it went to the fastboot mode started screen, thanks to the wonderful posts on here I was able to fix it. Then the following day it got left outside all day long, battery was drained and the phone was off. I charged the phone and when I turned it back on it would not go past the Android Logo screen. Again thanks to all the wonderful posts on here I was able to get it back up and running. The problem I am having now is that every time the phone gets turned off, it gets stuck on the android logo screen again and I have to re install the ROM. the recovery is not helping. It is quite tedious to have to constantly re install everything from Google Play just to get my phone to work. Is there anyone out there that can give me a permanent fix or give me a ROM that is specific for the LG P509 instead of the one I am using currently that is for the LG P500 Optimus One.
Android Version 2.2.2
Kernel Version 2.6.32.9
Build Number NuDroid T1D-S
Software Version LG-P509 V10s
Recovery Rom is Original_Recovery_ThunderG.zip
ROM is FRG83.zip
p509
the roms are the same
my phone is a p509 but im running every rom on this forum fine and everything goes well except some cases of data because tmobile uses a "funny sim"

I figured they were. I am just trying to find out why every time my turns off and I turn it back on I get stuck on the Android screen and it goes no where, Doing the recovery of my back up from the recovery menu (volup+home+power) does nothing I mean I actually have to re install the ROM. Is there anyway for me to find out what is wrong. What ROMS are you running if you do not mind me asking. Also is there an actual list anywhere of the Factory System Apps that I can freeze with my Titanium Backup. I have the Pro version. PLEASE HELP. I have had this rooted for over a year with no problems and now it just wants to act all crazy.

It sounds like the rom is corrupted. I believe from your description it fails to load properly on reboot. there are a lot of options available for you. Most of the roms are for new baseband. Unfortunately you will have to experiment. Read the posts carefully, start here first http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1152306. Next I would read this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=901247 this will tell you almost everything you want to know. I would upgrade to the new baseband v20g http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1149530 . Then I would upgrade the rom there are many good roms available. I wish you luck when I first stated flashing roms there were three days of hell before I started to get amazing results. I have a P509 on t-mobil network, and currently running cyanogem mod rom 7.2.0 RC1 it is gingerbread 2.3.7 New basband with lots of script tweaks. the performance is very good. good luck I will check back to see if I can help.

Thank you,
I will give those a look and see what happens. I will let you know.

i have same problem i have p509 and my phone fell during kdz and i think it partly works but no rom can load up :O

I have done many different options. The one that I found to be the easiest is to take your micro sd card and put it in the adapter into your PC. Then in the ROMs section of this forum find a ROM that suits you. or you can use the Rom I listed in my initial post being the FRG83.zip download it to your PC then copy it to your SD card. Put your SD card back into your phone. Then go to the recovery menu. Volup+home+power hold until the recovery menu pops up. then wipe the data, then install zip from sd card choose the file that you just downloaded and let it do its thing. It has worked for me numerous times. All else fails follow the guide that is posted above very good info to have.
