I have Andriod 2.1 on my Huawei Ascend M860.
I would like to update to Andriod 2.3. Should I first update to 2.2 then 2.3 or could I just go to 2.3?
Also, where could I get the update?
You should be able to go straight to 2.3.3 from 2.2.1

I have viewpad 7 with 2.2 installed on it - i saw a topic in the development part about a vanila 2.3 for Viewpad 7 but not launched yet.

Not possible. S5830/B/L (MSM7x27 variants) were the ones which were released with 2.2 out of the box. BCM21553 variants (S5830i/M/C/39i) were released with 2.3.6 and not 2.2.
well, it might be possible, coz we have 2.3 gb drivers, which is full compatible (i think) on 2.2 froyo...
