Hey guys,
Ive owned several android devices ;
First x10, second SGS, third SGS2 and finally ive downgraded to an x10 mini.
Many reasons for the downgrade , the biggest of which I felt I should maybe be spending more time with my fiance rather than tinkering with my phone and I also wanted a smaller phone that felt more robust, which this totally fits the bill.
Now, I got it yesterday. I wasted no time in rooting it, less time in getting xrec and cwm on it and next up was firing a GB rom on (at present, gingerDX).
The rom itself is great, ive just wondered something ;
Since I want to spend less time tinkering with my phone, what ROM (please dont make this a debate) would you guys say is best for battery life and longevity? Whilst battery life should be okay, im used to less than 1% overnight standby without data or wifi on and this drained about 20pc last night.
If its something to put up with I will, no gripes. Just wondered if there was something else I could do to lessen the drain (and ive read many posts, all usually come to the same conclusion).
Finally, wifi drops every 5 mins or so. Almost immediately picks back up but anyone know why? Think my old x10 did it too.
Other than that, this wee thing is pretty nifty. The speaker on it is rediculously good, especially considering its size!
Cheers folks
Pete

well congrats to your new phone. and the battery. is pretty much the weakest part of the phone. the best battery life saver is to have the wifi and data toggle switch and no live wallpapers. and set your cpu in deep sleep very low and use some kind of Governor like interactive or smartass
hope that helped

The best solution is freezing apps with Titanium or something similar. My choice is GingerDX

isn't that a mini rom? i thought the op just bought a mini pro...
Hey guys thanks for the replies, to be fair on the wee thing the battery life is understandable... I would probably die quickly too if my heart was that small!
I might not have looked in the right areas and cant find anything but generic answers, but does anyone know why every 5 mins or so the wifi drops and then reconnects itself say ten seconds later? Been trying to download some large files and none ever finish as they take longer to download and also dont wanna be using my data connection for that lol

You realise most people use their phone as it came from the factory and charge it when the battery needs charging?

Not too sure how the above reply helps, I do realise this but most people that even know this forum exist dont do this, cheers anyways

Hi guys,
Just finally worked out how to flash, root, etc and finally getting to CM7 (noobie here go easy :3) so i basically used the noob tutorial over in the x10 general area. So I'm CM7 everythings working fine its alot snappier and i love it, but the battery life on it isn't so great while in use when im not using it its fine but it just appears to be chewing the juice a little more compared to the stock 2.3.3.. any ideas guys?
Cheers.
What are your screen settings? They should be auto brightness off, screen on lowest brightness, and screen timeout on 15 seconds.
What are your other settings, the GPS settings should be off, along with Bluetooth, and wifi unless your using it.
Sent from my Atrix XDA Premium App
Hey thanks for the reply, auto is off brightness would be about 30% and bluetooth GPS wifi are only on when I need it otherwise 3g and data is on always..

I forgot about a big battery drainner, the new Facebook app. Are you using it? That could be the issue.

I only just put Facebook on not too long ago.. I'm thinking could it be the case the rom is still new? Only had it for a couple of days now..

Did you calibrate the battery after the flashing of the ROM?

The way I do it is to drain the phones battery till it dies, then charge it when the phone is off. Wait till its done, then turn on the phone to see if your at 100%. That should do the trick, but a better method is by a member with the name of omegared has a guide for battery calibrating. I recommend finding the guide. Its in the general section of the x10 section. Hope this helps.
Sent from my Atrix XDA Premium App
Ok awesome i will give that a go in the mean while i will look into that tutorial if i need to run through the guide.
Thanks for helping me out, im still learning hopefully i will get the hang of if more fluently.
Cheers.
Calibrating your battery will help.

After calibrating my battery drops 1% over 5 an a half hours on idle.
I'm running CM7-ZMOD and DoomKernel v05
Yeah I have done a re calibration and I have now a stronger battery life idle is insane hardly any loss. I noticed u have a doom kernal I'm wanting to put one of his on aswell. My question is I recall someone o/c his x10 to 1.2ghz can this be done and left without having to revert back? As a daily use?
Sent from my X10 using XDA App
Calibration is simple
Charge your phone to 100%
Switch off
Boot into xRecovery, goto advanced options, wipe battery stats, yes
Reboot
Pull the battery with charger connected
Reinsert after 10secs
Note that battery is now at 88%
Again charge to 100%...
Repeat for 4-5times.
CALIBRATED!

Yea I'm using doom's o/c kernel which 1.2ghz. You may use software like setcpu or cpu master etc.. using the "set on boot" option. It will automatically set it to your desired speed upon boot up.
Hello everybody,
I have a big-small problem with my X10. My phone is charging but very hard. It take about 6 hours till battery is full. I think it is a hardware problem. I hope not..
Any suggestion is wellcome. I wasn't to any GSM Service with him...so i don't know nothing about that.
P.S
I have that charging problem from the begining, not for soon.
Hi, you could try the Battery Calibration method and see if it helps.
Good luck!

I've tryed almost all ROM's from XDA ( except MIUI cause i don't like iOS interface ). Custom and stock ROM's...
That's why i think it is a hardware problem
That's really weird... maybe you should check the battery itself. You can do a physical recalibrate by wrapping the battery in newspaper and store it in the fridge. I'm not joking, it really refreshes the battery. Anyway it depends on you

Have you tried with a different charger? I was facing the same problem, exchanged chargers with my sister and now instead of 6 hours to almost full charge it takes only 1

Nothing to worry. Use ac charger. It uses 3.12v on average but usb uses 3.72v onn average.
Insert the charger and open up your back cover. Put it near an air conditioner or over an icepack. Don't let the temperature drop below 31degree Celsius, else it will moisten the internal parts. It will charge your phone within 2hours!
Try this trick. If it works, i will tell you the logic behind this stuff

Well guys...i've found that the problem was. I don't need any tweek to charge my phone. Just an original charger
Today i used original charger and my phone was full in less than 2 hours...
So...guys. NEVER use other products than original. This ar the best and assure stability and best performance to you phones.
Thank all of you and like i said...Just Original Products!!!

U get about 6 hours of battery life on stock 2.2 froyo with my vibrant. I want to know what settings to use, what I could flash, what apps to use, basically whatever I can do to extend battery life on this phone. I should add thats with heavy texting, pretty much non stop, some moderate gaming, words with friends and psx emu, and light music use. I get 6 hours even with no use, but I wanted to know any way that would help me get more. Any help would be greatly appreciated once again

I am putting together a guide on this as I type since this is such a common question. Should be done this weekend.
Ok thank you so much I love the phone it just dies way to fast.
Sent from my SGH-T959 using XDA Premium App
Can't wait for the guide to be posted bro. Also, OP, seeing as you are using Froyo 2.2 (which Woodrube uses) expect to get 20+ hours when his guide is posted next week.
Holy cow thats insane! I cant wait im dying to see it cause I neeeeed this phone to last longer and I really like froyo stock because I stay with the stock camera, get wifi tethering, and get flash player. Those 3 alone made me want an android phone I think the camera on this is amazing and games look awesome too and with someone like me, who texts and plays game non stop it kinda sucks keeping a charger on you 24/7 or forgeting and having to ration phone use haha

Hi guys, I'm just curious if any of you has tried this awesome launcher on an xperia mini pro and could share his/her experience with it, as I'm seriously thinking on giving it a go, but first I want to know if it would be really worth it for a mini pro, does it drains battery fast? How fluid does it go? Anyone?
Well, it works fine
I've tried it !
it's a heavy launcher. eats a lot of ram, battery drain fast, n sometimes lag.
Sent from my Nokia 3310
Thanks hehe, I'll have that in mind, but I think I'll pass if it's a battery drainer and ram eater D: I tried really hard to make my batt last 2+ days lol

Then you'll have to pass it cuz this one's a serious batt drainer and eats a whole lot of RAM, but it has a great and cool UI!
it's almost impossible to make battery last for 2 days or more....even with most minimal usage.

Hello everyone
I have been using an x10i since the past 2 yrs
I started using custom roms when Sony released the gb update cuz it was laggy
My problem is that now no matter which Rom I choose
A full charge hardly lasts an hour
Consider me a heavy user
& I have used every way that is out there to calibrate my battery
From using calibration apps to wiping stats using recoveries & overcharging battery
Is there any solution to my problems??

It is very simple, you know you are heavy user, you know you have used your battery for 2 years.
Do you know that that means your battery's life cycle has come to an end?
Go buy a new battery.

Original would be better and also you can try bigger battery as you are a heavy user. Check Accessories section of X10 but it will increase your phone size and bulk
try this solution FIRST
goto cyanogen mod settings in ther performance->cpu settings->governor->select interactive....
i am using fxp125 and am a medium user my battery lasts on full charge for 2days 12hours
hit thanks if i helped
