Hello,
I am having X10.
Last week I downloaded rom from here and switched to Android 2.3 from 2.1.
My question is >> Is it possible to downgrade to 2.1?
I forgot to take backup in vcard and took backup in traditional sony format i.e. sbf.
As of now no tools available to open my contact file.
Regards,
Amey.

Unfortunattly no. Actually it's my friends phone and I did upgrade for him. I am not sure if he synced with his google account.
But he has logged in to his gmail account in 2.3 but no contacts have synced back [ if any sync automatically before ]

Hey,
Im on the new ICS stock rom (with root) and using the stock email application to sync my hotmail account.
On the previous rom (2.3.4 gingerbread i beleive) when i deleted an email or marked it as read, it would update on the server to the same state. However now, it doesnt update on the server. If i mark an email as read or delete it (including deleting it from the trash) on my phone, it always stays as unread in my inbox when i log into hotmail online
Anyone know why this might be happening and how to fix it
Thanks
i tried 2 ics roms, a stock unbranded LPQ and 3uks LPQ branded. the unbranded rom had email 1.0 which had the option to delete mails from the server and no push.
the 3uk rom had upgraded email to 4.0 which uses push but.the option to delete mail on the server is gone.
maybe you can downgrade the email app

Hey, thanks for your reply.
When I was using gingerbread the e-mail client was able to do both... Push and server sync. is there any reason they've taken this feature (server sync) out now? Its so frustrating!
Is there anyway I'm able to get and load the old gingerbread apk onto my current rom?
i recently installed a custom rom on my dad's phone.. i took titanium backup as well as google synchronisation of the calander app... but titanium backup can't restore the calander entry and google synch. doesnt give back all the entries... please suggest a way to restore the calander entries...

First check if the calendar entries are there - PC > gmail account.
If there aren't any entries, it's a bit strange and it seems like sync wasn't active before.
If it's there, delete the gmail account from phone an add it again.
Because the restore from Titanium there can be two reasons for not working:
- the calendar app version change with firmware (maybe from ics to jb or gb to ics?!)
- there wasn't a entry set, which can be the reason for no entry from gmail sync

So this what I said with compatibility...
So u must restore ur calendar settings on GB.
Then for sure u can't directly sync them because it's local.
So u must try to bring them in the google calendar....
I've to say that I didn't do it til know so can't say how, but maybe there is an option like "import/export to calendar" or kind of it.
After this synch again...
Hope I made it a bit clearer now...

will try this.... thanks..
Try MyPhoneExplorer.
Some of the events are on device calendar, so they don't appear in GCalendar.
AFAIK, MPE can backup/restore all calendars present on device.

Hey guys,
i am running Cyanogenmod 10.1 since yesterday.
I wanted to resync my contacts with my phone from the software MyPhoneExplorer (a great tool by the way).
I synced it after having some trouble because of the new usb debugging security policy of Android 4.2.2 and all the contacts...suddenly were in my google account.
I would never ever want that to happen. I deleted them all online via my browser.
Afterwards i tried to create a contact ON my phone, but i could only choose to create it for my google account.
Any idea what i am doing wrong?
Is this a bug in 10.1 maybe?
Greetings

Hi,
I made a backup of my calendar, memo, contacts etc when I was on Gingerbread before upgrading to JB 4.1.2 on my S2. After upgrade I successfully restored memo and everything except Calendar i.e "S Planner". Kies shows that it have successfully restored the calendar but I cant see any events on my S2. I also did a restart but no change.. Not even 1 event have been restored...!!! Please Help...I badly want to restore my events...
But I just updated my kies and after that its not even successfully restoring it..it just goes to 50% and when I select "Transfer all events" to restore it reaches 97% and gives a message "Stopped loading GT-I9100's S Planner"... what do I do now ??
In both situation I still cant see any events restored on my device..!!! Or else ...Is there a way to view the "Calendar.ssc" backup file ..so that I can atleast view the events ?
Thank You..
1st pic is before updating Kies.........2nd pic after updating
Help...!!!
I am still waiting for some response..!!! Guys can you please provide some support ??

Right sorted now, my calendar wasnt syncing with google as my agenda's were saved under My Calendar and not my google account. you can make a backup using ICal however from play store. I will just have to re-enter my calendar entries again saving under my account.
This might be a rookie question, but here it goes:
1. What is the best way of saving contacts and SMS messages for transferring over to CyanogenMod? I have already saved them in a backup file with Samsung Kies (if that will work?).
2. Is it easy to go back to the stock ROM if I have the desire to do that?
3. With the stock ROM i have now, I tried to uninstall Skype and re-install it again. However, an error 24 popped up in Google Play, and I see that many others have problems with this occurring! I am apparently unable to install Skype again on my phone. How can I fix this still on the stock ROM?
Thanks for all the help,
- Steria
I did a factory reset (stock ROM) and Skype is now working again.
I plan on installing CyanogenMod in the nearest future, but I need to know:
1) How I can import my contacts and messages from stock to CyanogenMod, and
2) Whether it is easy to get the phone back to the stock ROM again if I choose to do so.
Edit: I looked through my SMS's on my phone, and noticed that many of the messages duplicated themselves, and many of my own replies in the conversations are gone (my conversation bubbles in the convos). How come? If anyone can help me with this as well, I would really appreciate it. Thanks.

I don't know about text messages, but contacts should be backed up to your Gmail account automatically. If not you can turn that setting on and you wont have to worry about them when formatting.
1) You should use the sync option under your google account settings, just sync your contacts that way and your contacts will follow you into every new android based phone you'll use.
For sms messages - the sms database is located at the following location:
Code:
/data/data/com.android.providers.telephony/databases/mmssms.db
I admit that I never used it myself, but i'm pretty sure that this is what you're looking for.
2) Easy or not, it's up to you to decide.... use this guide.
3) I have no idea
