CM7 boot animation keeps looping - Atrix 4G Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I have unlocked bootloader successfully. I then used the new version of Rom Manager to flash CWM. Everything seemed good. I rebooted into Recover from Rom Manager (I can't figure out how to boot into it from startup). I then did a back up of my current image. Then i installed prebeta4.zip. Everything seemed to go great. I then wiped the cache and rebooted. The CM7 boot animation started up great, but then my screen went black and the boot animation ran again. THis is happening over and over. Does anyone have any suggestions on what to do? I would love to run CM7, but at this point i would like a phone that starts up as well Any suggestion you all got, please let me know. Thanks guys!

wipe data and reflash

how do i do that. I can't seem to figure out how to boot into recovery?

Power on your phone while holding the volume down button till it says fastboot, then scroll down using the volume down button till you see android recovery and select with volume up.
You can only scroll down so if you pass it, loop back around.

Two posts for this?

pull battery on the phone, put back in power on holding down volume
wipe data and cache and also dalvik cache, reflash and then wipe them one more time for good measures lol

CWM issues on FroYo...

No matter which FroYo Release I try, "Fix-permissions" doesnt seem to work properly. Regardless of what i try, it only fixes permissions for the CWM app itself. So its shows two lines of text for CWM, and its done. Any one know why this is happening?
Ps- I've tried completely un installing CWM and deleting its folders and everything associated with it but to no avail. I'm out of ideas...

I take it that everyones ClockWork's "Fix-Permissions" works perfectly fine? Any input would be nice. THanks
You need to get into the actual clockwork recovery and fix perm there. So, open ROM manager, select reboot into recovery, select re-install packages, clockwork recovery should boot up, then goto advance options at the bottom of the list and select, then you should see the fix perm option about half way down the list, select it and your done.
I have the same problem. I'm thinking it's to do with CWM needing to be updated for the vibrant. Since there is no current 2.2 official/supported release it will not be updated as of yet. I haven't contacted koush(dev), but I'm sure he knows.
Even if you do go directly into CWR you can select it, but it doesn't seem to scroll the script...
I am using the stock Froyo eugene posted and I am not having any problems with ROM manager or CWR. I have done two backups with ROM man and wiped cache, dalvik cache, and fix permissions in CWR and it worked. I even got the fix permissions log on my SD card.
This must be it, because same thing happens if i try from the recovery. Is there anyone that can get fix-permissions to actually run the entire script? Would be nice to know if its a select few, everyone, or just us two

Tablet not truning on

So, last night i was using my tablet and it started acting weird. youtube videos not loading, apps locking up, etc. So I decided to reboot my tab to resolve it. But now it wont boot. The boot animation stops part way through, and after a while it turns itself off.
My next thought was to go to recovery, but that doesnt work either. When I try to enter recovery it hangs at the twrp splash screen. At this point I dont know what to do
Any ideas?
What ROM were you on?

It sounds like a bad flash. Perhaps try using Odin to reflash a working recovery again? Then do a complete wipe and restore a backup to get working again.
If that doesn't work it sounds like its stock firmware time...

Damn. If you have flashed stock firmware you will have stock android recovery...however using it is rather scary because of the potential for the emmc brick bug. If you weren't able to wipe the device before flashing the stock firmware you're probably locking up on a bad driver or lib or something.
Do you have adb access to the device? Are you able to pull a Logcat?

ok, I got it working. I rebooted from that screen, did a factory reset in stock recovery, flashed cwm, and rebooted a few more times and I finally was able to get it booted up.

Phew!!!
Yeah man, factory resets in stock recovery are really scary. Good job getting back on a custom recovery. Make sure it is a newer recovery (CWM 6+) so you are safe when you run a FR.
Get re-rooted and back into a ROM with a safe kernel too and you're golden congrats!

[Help] Stuck on Motorola "pulsing" logo @ boot

Hi.
I've been using AOKP 4.2.2 rom for a few months, today I removed my SIM card to change it (phone powered off). After powering up, the phone would not boot the system. I entered recovery and flashed kernel - no difference. Next I cleaned all slots and flashed new CM10.1 rom to slot1. Again after reboot the phone was stuck with green led (for 30+ minutes, so I'm fairly certain it would not finish booting). Tried that again with other rom, again no change. So finally I started trusted old RsdLite (6.0) and flashed 4.0.4, it worked without problems, all 10 parts, restarted, did some things (long blue line) on the dead android logo, rebooted again and.....
Well, now my phone displays dual core logo, then "M" logo and sits there all the time (more than 1 hour anyway).
Tried that again, then tried EternityProject flasher, that one also completed without problems, rebooted, shown dead android logo (but did not do this blue line), rebooted again and is stuck in the same place.
Anyone know what may be wrong? Phone is without SIM and without SDcard. The last thing I can imagine is that there is something wrong with internal SDcard, some leftover from AOKP that were not deleted. Does using rsdlite equals complete wipe of all data including internal sd?
If not how can I force clean internal sdcard?
If I start the phone with USB connected, Autoplay pops up with MotoCast drivers from Motorola (seen as virtual CD drive), ADB does not detect device.
Here is a screenshot of successfull Rsdlite flash.

!!Solved - booted to stock recovery and did a full wipe. Who would have thought that Rsd would not do that.... Shame on me...
Happened to me also, haha glad you solved your problem

Congrats,Yeah When in Bootloop Do a Full WIPE
Yeah, and it only took me like 6 hours to think about something THAT basic What a genius !! Oh well.... OTOH it's strange that rsdlite does not clean everything.... I still do not know if it was cache partition or user data partition as those are the ones full wipe cleans.

[Q] Help Point of no return?

Well i think I have screwed up beyond repair.Yesterday I had sucessfully rooted my new s4 that came with VRUAMDK. just rooted no custom roms or anything. I then loaded Titanium backup and froze the verizon update app. Installed Goo Manager and made a nandroid backup with TWRP.
Today I froze the Weather widget app among others. Decided I wanted the weather widget back, so I defrosted it. It WOULD NOT come back. So I defrosted everything. Still no weather widget. Then I thought I would just unroot and go back to stock. Followed Dark Menace's Pm instructions and followed them to the letter. When I rebooted from using superSu to unroot. I noticed a notifcation that a software update was available, obviously it was since it was unfrozen. I did not click it. But a few seconds later my phone reboots into recovery mode with TWRP I thought that was very strange. Upon completion, and booting it said "Android is being updated" Well at that point I was sick! Sure enough now I'm at VRUAME7.
What can I do? probably nothing correct?
Oh and a few minutes after all this a popup said "software update failed to complete nothing was changed" or some-such. But I'm still at me7 and I have a unlocked padlock on bootup
Lesson learned don't screw with it if it aint broke!
Oh I STILL don't have my weather widget back.
I appreciate any assistance.
Thanks,
EDIT:
I'm not really broke about being on ME7 its just that I wish I could get rid of the padlock on boot and wipe all the backups (nandroid) just in case the phone dies. At this point it will just be a paperweight.
Would a wipe data/factory reset at least get me all the way onto me7? I seem to be stuck somewhere in between.
Here's where I'm at now

Fixed!
Flashe VRUAME7 stock restore --> booted up with padlock --> rebooted in recovery mode --> wipe cache --> booted without padlock! Now at ME7 with no update errors --> did factory reset to get rid of all the twrp and TiBU files. So at least it is working fine now.
Thanks for all the info on the site!

[Q] Stuck on Jelly Bean's build 22 Installing screen 0% What do I do?

I tried to install the Jelly Bean's build 22 rom today. I backed up, did factory reset, and then I began the rom installation. I was able to go through the beginning and select the things I wanted to install and now it is still stuck on the Installing screen. It says:
Installing... 0.0% Formatting/system partition
It isn't frozen because the progress bar is flashing green .
It has been stuck like that for over an hour! What should I do?
Here is a screenshot of the exact same spot im stuck at

Awesome! Thank you so much it worked great this time! I'm still new to this and I wasn't sure if pulling the battery would brick my phone or something. I didn't think it would but I rather be safe. Thanks again
