I have rooted my GT 10.1 LTE. After I used StarBurst ROM 9/1/11, my tab is brick, I have to restore.
Do you have StarBurst ROM for GT 10.1 LTE?
Thanks

I did the same exact thing. A temporary solution that I found was to install this kernel from CWM. If you are unable to boot in to CWM recovery like I was then the solution is to flash CWM via Odin so that you can install the kernel zip. Once you install that kernel you will get an exclaimation mark on boot and it will take a little longer than usual to get to the boot splash but it will boot. The only problem is that LTE radio does not work with this rom as it was designed for the wi-fi GT-10.1
I hope this helps.

The problem is not only recovery. Go to http://www.sammobile.com/firmware/?page=3&t=3&o=1#osa, download the firmware for your region and flash with odin. Make a full backup prior to this and also copy the contents of your sdcard to your PC. I think everything gets wiped! Oh, you can flash a 3.2 rom directly also.

I'm not real sure, I found it about a week ago. I've got the wifi 10.1 and it works fine, I can link it to you if you want.
Here's the stock recovery I used on the wifi 10.1, it works on 3.1 and 3.2 http://db.tt/HhOiSnwh you need to flash with Odin in the PDA section.

Yeah, just scroll down the Droid basement page until you get to the last honeycomb kernel pershoot made, and flash with CWM.

So flash via odin stock Rom, then flash CWM 5.5.0.4 and last flash this kernel, correct?

You Have Me Here Pal...
Well, first flash the stock rom simply and second flash the kernel via odin flasher in PDA section.
That's all, your done.Enjoy your custom kernel with your stock OS.
Feel Free to press THX...
Nice i ve done it and works ok.
Ty guys.
No problem dude, but if you decide you wanna change, Overcome 2.3.1 is very good, like stock but tweaked. It's not updated any more but that's because there have been no new ROMs from Samsung to make any changes from.

I ve used infamous, overcome, clean and many others which i forgot atm, but i ve faced lack of wifi reception, in time automatic updates of weather widget stopped working, Bluetooth pairing problems, on reboot no auto connection to wifi spots etc minor issues which i didn't had with stock Rom.
So lets see with stock Rom and modified kernel what ll happen.

Well, the latest recovery can be downloaded through rom manager apk. Install it from play open it and follow the instructions. The recovery from droidbasement is not the latest, but it is the only one that works with ics.
Please correct me if I am wrong.

Hello
im going to desagree with you, just that because my experience was diferent.
I have try the Recovery CloxkworkMod for my equipment, that was the 7500 (Download P4 (Odin; GT-P7500): recovery.tar.md5 ) and like i said earlier in the post, that went smoothly without any problems. That said, im in a stock room, dont know if it works on ICS.
Cheers
I didn't say that it doesn't work. Of course it will backup your device. I just said that it is not the latest. That's different than saying it's not working.

That recovery I linked him to was the last CWM recovery for HC 3.2 roms. Its the last one that preshot did for HC, you can use later ones (the ICS ones) but from my experience their a little glitchy when you pair them with HC roms.

how about if i want to flash cm10?.can CWM for ICS do the work?
Hello guys,
I am experienced in flashing roms and whatever... I already did this hundreds of times with a Galaxy S, Asus Transformer and now with my Galaxy Nexus.
I have a Galaxy Tab 10.1 (3G+wifi). I tried to install CM9 but it didn't work. And man... I really tried a loooot!!!
Well... now I am trying to use the regular stock rom in my Galaxy Tab and everytime the screen turns itself off and I turn it on again, it flickers!!! It's VERY annoying since I have to turn off the tablet to be able to use it again.
I have a nandroid backup and I restored it, but it didn't work... it still flickers!!! =P
I also tried to flash some recovery files: http://droidbasement.com/db-blog/?p=2487 like you guys recommended in some other posts.
But it didn't work, too.
Guys... I am getting a little desperate in here... I have been searching for an answer for this for days.
Can anyone help me, please?
Have you tried to use ODIN to flash back to stock?

Hello 9xnine, thank you for your reply. Unhappily I don't have a stock rom (and it seems there's none available - Brazil's model).
Anyway restoring a nandroid backup (like I did) would be the same than flash a stock rom back, right?
Theoretically yes but I often find that Nandroid's won't work for a number of reasons. ODIN is and always has been my friend.
Try this. Looks like the ZVV build is for Brazil

Flash by Odin rom from this link:http://www.hotfile.com/dl/145473375/7dd41d4/P7510UEKMP_P7510XABKMP_XAB.zip.html
This is a rom for 7510 but it works with 7500. Then you have to upload the latest CWM and CM9.
For me it works.
The method described in this issue.

THANKS MAN!!!! IT WORKED LIKE A CHARM!!!!! THANK SOOOOOO MUCH!!!!!!:highfive:
I just picked up a i717 and I'm trying to root via this guide http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1740367. I first tried to flash CWM with odin and then I tried a root file with odin then TWRP with odin but after all of them I still cannot get into recovery (it's still stock recovery). Any help would be appreciated.
Read through THIS THREAD.
I had issues when trying to root my Bell i717 as well. All the links to everything you need should be in there...just read...and read again.
in case you miss it or read too fast..
there is a point where you pull the battery so you dont have your recovery overwritten during boot..
once i was in cwm recovery i flashed a custom rom that did not have that "feature"

ahh I c thanks. Any suggestions for which rom is best?
It all depends what you are looking for.
I want something I can record calls with, and something not bloated.. so I'm still searching for just the right Rom. I used to use wanam on the sgs2 and he spoiled me for all other developers.
written in your mud with my stick
Just got my note. Previously had the gnex. I have always used aokp. I plan to install it on this phone once i can get root lol.

I have the Rogers note and running ICS BlackStar X as my daily driver without any issues. Been hearing good things about the Novena rom but haven't tried it out since I'm happy with my current setup.
