Ok. Here is the deal. I want to add support for 3g in non tw rom. How can i do that? Flash another kernel over it, or any other method. Any help will be aprishiated. I am not a dev but i wish to try adding a support for 3g version in rom that is wifi only. I flashed this rom on 3g tab and everything worked fine, exept there were no 3g options in settings. Ideas?
On wifi only Xoom the firmware actually includes all necessary setings for 3G, they are only hidden from the menus. I used Quick Settings app from the Market and it let me configure 3G settings on my completely stock wifi only Xoom, so i think this could work on GT10.1 also.
It force closes. The option is there but app fc. I tryed a few diferent apps same. Any other idea?
I'm useing this rom.

The simply answer is that you can't it says clearly WIFI only and 3G only ROMS are not same in any way of settings etc...
There must be a way. Mabey with diferent kernel? Nothing is inposible.

Hello fellow XDA people. My question to all of you is that is it possible to use the Omega ROM meant for the i9505 variant to be flashed and used on this Verizon variant? Like can the following be usable (to those that have or are willing to use Omega and test it out):
- Data (3G/4G and Wifi)
- Wifi Tethering
- Any features added to the XXUBMEA update that this ROM is built from (Such as HDR video recording, more space available, less lag, etc.).
- Messaging
- Call Recording and any other mods added to this ROM
BTW it is possible to use i9505 ROMs on the Verizon variant but I haven't heard of anyone that has tried out Omega so that I can see if they have experienced any bugs relating to Wifi, Data, or other features and mods. Idk if I can post the link but I can say that there is a guide to install i9505 ROMs on this device somewhere in this section.

Edit: You should not flash any ROM not specific to your carrier as there are carrier specific files included. You could lose data connectivity or spam other carriers with errors. There are ways to port other ROMs but those are very advanced tasks.
Yes, flash and use your carriers kernel (important) and add your apn settings, it will work.

Are you sure? I flashed the Omega rom and ktoonsez kernel last night and the rom seems to work, however I have no data. When I tried to manually add my apn settings the 'Access Point Names' option is completely missing from the menu.

I would like to know soon because I'm getting my GS4 either today or tomorrow. If data and everything works then I'm gonna head off and flash Omega. And please give step by step instructions if you can, thank you.
Any help is appreciated.
Anybody tried and tested it out yet? Phone should be coming in sometime soon.
EDIT: woops sorry for double posting.
The Access Point Names setting seems to come and go. When its there, I can put my apn settings in and I have 4g data, but after a while the setting just disappears and I lose mobile data.

EDIT: Nvm you said ktoonsez kernel. Maybe try another kernel or as I said a reflash or something. I would like to know. Phone is still coming, FedEx is being slow today.
I've tried the ktoonsez kernel as well as the faux kernel. I also tried flashing the wanamlite rom just to see if it was just an issue with the omega rom, but I still get the same problem. And yes, I did try reflashing it but the problem is still there.

That's strange. Hm. Hope I don't run into the same problem.
You probably will run into the same problems if all the system apps and config files don't have the necessary codes and designations in it. The RIL lib files are different too amongst other things. That's not to say a ROM couldn't have more universal system settings. Or that you couldn't change the settings/databases/configs yourself.
I've found work arounds for all the issues so far but they aren't novice user friendly. I may do a write up after I'm done my port.

So would data and all that work properly on Omega on the i545? Or would there be things that I would need to configure.

That sucks. I've seen some people get it working I think and a little bit according to kejay except for the fact his/her APN settings come and go along with data. Omega is a really great ROM but I guess I might just have to go with HyperDrive which I've already downloaded but I've heard of a few bugs here and there as of RLS 4.
[EDIT] Anyone got data working yet or anything? Or should I just use HyperDrive? Got my phone like 5 minutes ago.

If when you go to settings->wifi it says "Wifi is turning on" or something relevant to that
you should reinstall rom and make sure you Factory Reset on CWM.
wifi issue
I did all the steps correctly (factory reset-wipe dalvik-wipe cache-format system-format data) but didn't work for me again
It's typically a kernel issue. See if there is another compatible kernel for PA for your phone.

I'm gonna take a wild guess and say in the forum for your phone where you got the rom from...Search in the PA thread. Surely others have tried different kernels there or search for others with wifi issues with that version and see if there's an easy fix.

Little light on the details here...
Which variant of the d2lte? Is it just data only that isn't working or talk/text as well? If it is just data, then usually it is an APN that needs to be added. There might be a flashable APN zip, but depends on your carrier.

Does it have the settings to edit the APNs under Wireless & Networks > More > Mobile Networks > Access Point Names or no? Tried copying the APN list from other working AOSP rom?

Just in case you ever soft brick or need to return to stock, I found that ^. If you don't already have it, I recommend saving it as it's not as easy to find vs the more popular versions and since it is on someone's Dropbox, you can't assume it'll be available there forever.
But you never answered me about switching the APNs in the Settings to see if that would help...
Also, which network setting are you trying to use? I'm wondering if you don't need to switch to just CDMA instead of the probably default LTE/CDMA setting since I don't believe that phone supports LTE for ST, right?

Since I am new and can't post in the development forum...
I really like this Rom but I can not get it to access any network functions either cell or data. I have tried both versions, waited when flashed and booted before rebooting, dirty flashed v1 to v2... but no matter what I get these:
SAE has stopped (after boot up)
Insert Sim Card to access network services (on sprint?)(when attempting to turn Mobile Data on)
and it says in the top bar "checking device status"
Can not update profile or prl
Please help...
What modem and baseband are you on?
Sim card not recognized
I have the same problem although SAE went away when I chose note 3 camera but still no service and Sim card not found!
Modem is listed as unknown and not even an option for baseband

sac's rom is ancient and other people have made improvements to darkera's Lp note 5 port. Try Music of Life LP rom from main note3 forum. Since there's zero interest to port them to the sprint , install with XAS csc to allow apn editing. If you don't mind some bugs, try the S7 edge ports instead. Darkera, music of life, and others currently have s7 ports. They all have their own threads (darkera has his english thread at samsungvn) if you want to ask further questions about them.

Try going to build.prop and changing the device name to:
ro.product.model=SM-G925F
I'm not sure why either wouldn't work they work fine for me but that is a setting I changed to get themes to work.

I'll try that, thank you again for all of your help. I have noticed that smart select is working after boot up and for a little while after, then it stops. Something must be killing it after a while, I've tried deselecting various Xposed modules but have stuck out so far figuring out the correct one. Hopefully this will work

Try freezing sae 2.0 in titanium. Seemed like that had something to do with it as well. It's been a while.

Thank you, I did want to try Phronesis' 6.5 but just wasn't confident that I'd be able to get data to work. I seems like it works great with xposed, enough though there's so much baked in that most modules wouldn't be necessary. I wanted a 5.1.1 stable ROM, MM still seems to be too buggy, it seems like Sac's was the only alternative for me, but I guess I need to figure out the APN option to make others work with Sprint.
