[Q] Battery Issues after rooting - Galaxy Tab 10.1 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello Everyone,
I'm looking for a point in the right direction for a problem I'm having with my Galaxy tab 10.1. I just got my hands on one and have been loving it, but i recently rooted it and noticed that the battery would drain super fast, but after rebooting it went back up to like 80% and then started to fall again pretty quick. I thought it might be something with the rom so I restored back to stock and unrooted, but still had the problem. In the end I exchanged the model and am having the same issues with the current one...
Any help would be greatly appreciated

[Q] Off-charging problem

Hi there!
I've got this problem since few days now. The issue is that when i try to plug in the charger while my phone is off, it will start-up and start charging then. It could be charged while off before on the same rom I've used. I was using Galnet's MIUI. I thought that it might be a bug or something so i did install the version from miuiandroid.com and unfortunately the problem still exists. I've wiped data, cache and dalvik before installing the new one ofcourse. Any tips?
Thank you!

OK, thanks for clearing up. Well, I still cannot find any solution to fix the off-charging. I would really appreciate any tips for fixing it up. Thank you!
MIUI and CM7 is build that way. It's not a bug. The devs don't think phone should be off while charging...
Hey droidphile! Thank you for your answer. I have searched alot on the internet about off-charging. seems like many people have it like this. It is only strange that one day it was off-charging and next time it couldn't on the exactly same rom. Well .. I can live with it if it's a normal behaviour. Thanks

[Q] Severe Battery Drain With Any Custom ROM!

Hey guys. I have been using this site for a while and have just made a new account. I look forward to some helpful chaps
PHONE: GALAXY ACE GT-S5830
I have installed 4 different types of Cyanogenmod (CM 10.1 Pro, etc.) and have found a problem. Even after battery calibration (thank google play ) i have always received severe battery drain. Eg. I would leave my phone on charge overnight. In the morning I would wake up and I could basically watch it go down like a timer. About 2 minutes after unplugging the phone it would have gone down to 81%, even without using the phone!
I know this isn't the ROM's fault since it has happened on numerous ROM's, as I said.
Also, after it reaches about 20% it sometimes slows down the drainage.
I don't get this problem on the stock ROM. I really want to use the stock ROM and UI (TW) cause its got many features, but wanna keep Jellybean cause of BBM for Android coming out soon. If there is any type of ROM which looks just like the original Stock ROM for SGA but with JB installed, could someone please point me in the right direction for it?
Many Regards & looking forward to a ahppy community, HelloMrBrandon. :highfive:
Update: BTW I know I shouldn't post Q&A here. But I couldn't find the right spot for them. Sooooorrryyyyy!
PING!

How to go back from cm10.2 4.3.1 to stock 4.1.2?

hello. first of all im sorry about my english..
guys. i have been using cm 10.2 for two weeks on my gs3. since the first day i've been very unhappy about the battery drain. but i was not checking the situation regarding the percentage shown on the screen.
last night before i locked the screen the battery was about %36. after 7-8 hours of sleep i woke up.
i was shocked when it showed me %18 percent of battery. i was so angry man. so damn angry.
my gs3 used to drain only %3-4 in the nights. this is not acceptable guys. also tried batterystats bla bla. android os was the top drainer of the battery.
by the way im using greenify. wifi was off and only 2g was on w/o mobile data. the phone should be sleeping like a dead.
so i decided to go back from 10.2 to my good old touchwiz.
i dont have a nandroid kind of thing? is it risky? what are the steps of this operation?
anyone? any ideas?
thank you for reading.
Why get angry? Non Samsung rom cannot use the hardware as well so will always have such problems, it's well known and shouldn't be a surprise to anyone.
There is a guide in general forum, sticky threads on how to go back to stock. Backup your efs before you do anything.

Yeah backup your EFS before you do anything.
You can search on this forum and use the Samsung Galaxy S3 ToolKit. This will guide you through flashing whatever kind of rom you want...

[Q] Need help to find the reason of drastic battery life reduction

Hello guys,
I'm quite new here and to Android and that's probably what's causing my difficulty of finding a solution for my problem, so I'm hoping you guys can help me.
So all started a few months ago, when my brother decided to give me his 2 year S2, I was quite satisfied because it's in great condition. After a few months of using it I decided to go on and try some roms dor the sake of my boredom of Samsung's rom and for my will to discover. The rom I tried was Slimkat, it worked pretty good and it's awesome to customize but it was killing ny battery in 8 hours with medium to low use, it was kinda crazy... So I decided to roll back and restore the stock rom, I was successful and it's the one I still have at the moment, but the battery problem remains... I've tried two different batteries and it's always the same and I've run out of solutions that I know.
tl;dr - my battery was fine before I started to play around with roms and after I restored the stock rom the problem remained. The battery itself isn't the problem because I've tried two others.
So I hope you can help me, if you need any other information, I'll be glad to add it.
Regards and thanks in advance
BetterBatteryStats; find the thread devoted to it on here & install it (or get it from Google Play), let it run for a day/whatever, and post the BBS logs to the BBS thread - people who post their regularly should be able to help you track down what's causing drain. You could post them to this thread, but with such little traffic in Q&A these days, you could be waiting a fair while for meaningful help (I.E help that's actually useful Vs people who don't know what they're talking about).

[Q] Best Performance & Battery boost Rom for S4

Hey guys, I have a Canadian Glalaxy S4 SGH-M919V from Wind Mobile. On 4.2.2. Since I bought the phone, the battery was dying pretty quick, with the new updates to 4.1... and now 4.2.2, the battery dies much quicker and performance is just awful, the phone freezes a lot, won't unlock for a minute or so after freezing. The developers have promised the battery fix with each new update, but they keep making it worst and slower with no promised battery fix, and this is not how S4 should work, the system is powerful enough to run quick without freezing and battery should last long, but after using it for 1 hour a day, I have to charge it every night.
-So my question is, which custom rom is the fastest and has a good battery life for M919V. I would like to have all features still working, wifi tethering.... -Also would I have to flash modem to fix any problems like 4G not working when calling and when screen is locked? What is the best Lerner for my phone and what do I need to do/install to have everything working without any problems. Thanks guys, waiting on your replies. Tired of my S4 being slow and dying quick... :crying:
Bump
This section is for Android Wear. Your question got nothing to do with Android Wear. So please go and post to thread specific for your device and not here!!
No need to be rude. The forum is confusing with all these sections. If you want to sound nice, you should say next time: "wrong section for questions, here _____ is where you should ask this, Good luck"
Next time please show some respect to new members
Didn't mean to be so rude. It's just that is not related to your device anyway and maby none of people reading this topic don't even own device you are talking about. Top if this page has input field that says "Type To Find Your Device...". Try putting your model number there to find right thread (I would do that for you but it's not so good to find it now since I'm typing from my phone). Best luck
It's all good I found the the right section, it was just a little confusing lol
