Where can I download this DEV version? I have looked everywhere. Or is it perhaps only available to developers?
Wasn't sure whether or not I should ask, but I figured it's better to ask too much rather than not asking at all.

if you want to test DEV versions of miniCM you need to ask nAa so that he can send you email with link; new features and so on
of course, DEV versions are expected not to be stable, buggy, laggy or anything else
your phone can also be bricked after that
so testing DEV versions is not risk free.
you are absolutely responsible of what you do to your device
DEV versions are there to hunt bugs if any, so testing them isn't for only pleasure but also to help nAa in the development progress
hope that answers is what you expected
it is absolutely not recommended to ask for link if you can't help in any way
no noobs, no spammers there, only real users, testers and dev that can contribute to the dev progress

Hello People,
I have a keen interest in Android and ROMs etc but no programming or development knowledge, just an interest. I've rooted and put a couple of different ROMs on my old HTC Desire thanks to XDA and its community of developers and will do the same with my SGT10.1 as soon as ICS is stable and has a working camera .... Thank you all!
What I'd like to know is what's different between Google releasing ICS and say Microsoft releasing Windows 7? Why can't I go to a shop or website, purchase or download ICS and install it on my device in a similar fashion to installing a new OS on my PC?
It seems to the ignorant (me) that they make life very difficult for the devs on this site and others! I appreciate that this is probably a stupid question, but I would really be grateful for someone to take a min to explain, for example, what happens after the developers get a copy for the ICS open source code and before they/you grace us with a stable build for a device? Why is the completed ICS from Google not suitable to simply install? One reason that comes to mind is device drivers! Maybe I've just answered my own question!!!
Again, thanks for all the hard work ... whatever it is?
Not meant to sound rude, but do you really want to wait a few years between gingerbread and ice cream sandwich, pay a ridiculous amount for it, and still have to update it almost constantly?
The difference is Microsoft and generous developers.
Microsoft makes millions.
Android open source developers get self satisfaction and other things, but very little, if anything, in monetary payment (donations).
I know Google is a huge money corporation, but I would hate to see things go the way Microsoft does things in regards to operating systems software.
There are many technical reasons related to the many thousands of different devices, but I'm not knowledgeable enough to comment, so I'll leave that to someone else who is.
Actually, I think you did your own question.

Is it going to be easier now to, unofficially, port MIUI to ACE and is someone doing it?
someone doing it...
don't spam forum with similar posts plzzzzzz...
all of us here know its open source so wait for someone to release it and keep quite till then
once again a spamer
are all of your 55 post spams like this -.-
All I wanted was information. There is not thread for this as for now. Thank you all smart asses for being helpful. Do not want to be rude but I asked and you did not answer. Unless you have something to the subject keep your comments to you.
yeah and you having much smarter ass even cared to search the forum ??
MIUI is for hdpi devices with armv7 arch and they have released source of some apps if you know this...
so you won't see full miui thing in near future for ace
I am not trying to be a smart ass coz I am just a user and I respect the work devs do. Just wanted info on this.

i can understand how eager are you to see miui on ace but offcourse all are.. we are seeing some similar questions over forums that why we shouted on you ... when they release some more things open source way then you might expect some port but its too early to ask for port

To moderators
First of all I am sorry for creating this thread here which should be in general section. But as most of the people visit development section so I just want that people should notice this thread and give their valuable opinion. When time will come I will request to move this thread to general section
To all xda mi3/mi4 users
My name is Vishal. I am using mi3 since almost 1 year. After sources released by xiaomi the development of custom roms and kernels was really superb. Even still our developers like audihaudi, bitti and many others working really hard to give bugless roms to us. But after recently developer like varun.chitre, jackeagle and gnome left the development. Look like we need a very expert helping hand to deal with very core problems/bugs that we are facing right now and to support our device's development for a long time with best updates. We all agree that camera quality of mi3 on custom roms is below average. Also bugs like SOD after call, no sim bug are very annoying issue that we are dealing right now.
So I contacted a developer dhiru1602[/] who has a very good experience with kernel as well cm rom development especially with CM sources and CM based rom. Also he is official maintainer and developer of nameless rom for many devices which are
Samsung galaxy s3
Samsung galaxy note 2
Nexus 4
Galaxy SL i9003
Optimus L9
Optimus P760
Optimus P765
Optimus P768
Optimus P769
Dhiru1602 developer's profile
http://forum.xda-developers.com/member.php?u=2875964
And his work
http://forum.xda-developers.com/search.php?searchid=379647111
Only problem is that he don't have mi3 or mi4 device. Without device fixing critical bugs in device tree and keep on providing bugless updates is a critical task for any developer. So if we donate enough amount to him so that he can buy a mi3 or mi4 phone then that will going to be a big advantage for developement of our phone.
So I want to know how many people are really willing to donate surely so that we can donate a phone to him?? It will help me to judge the response and to initiate the things later.
Thank You,
Vishal

So as an RC you decide when to move, those unauthorized Threads, just overlooking the Forum Rules on sooo many levels.....
But you already knew this, hence you apology. Well moved out of the Development Section and Noted!
Hi. As you can see, ROM developers here don`t really pay attention to making any custom ROMs for our beloved A310, A510 and A710-s. So i have made a request on Cyanogenmod Forums for any developers there to see and work on the project! It`d be nice if you showed yourselves there too so the developers don`t think A-2016 series phones aren`t mainstream and aren`t worth working on. Here is the request thread link, so go there, reply or something, just show yourselves!

Maybe that old fight regarding Exynos processors is the main problem here. IDK for sure. Check it out here, XDA team made a post about this "betrayal" between Samsung and the developers.
Regardless, I'm still looking forward into that CM13 thread on the original development forums. However, the OP is not answering the PMs or the thread, so it's kinda useless by now.
Can't we make a Custom from ourselves maybe work with a good developer here on XDA and use our devices for testing
What's up with the devlopment dudes? There's basically no ROMs or kernels. We need to request xiaomi to send this device to a few devs and/or start a donation thread for a official los dev

Not sure what you are talking about, there are a few developers working on a few ROMS now... To any of the devs reading this, please ignore rude people like him... We really appreciate your efforts and work!!

Oh I'm sorry if I came across as rude, I'm new to the development community here and meant that as a casual message, as well as a suggestion to find a official los dev, which would ensure the longevity of this device compared to something like a poco f1
Also, I was exaggerating slightly when I said no ROMs or kernels - kudos to those developing right now. I'm thinking maybe of compiling a few ROMs as well
