[Q] GT-I905 Verizon LTE model ROMS - Galaxy Tab 10.1 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey folks I'm just wondering what ROM's and kernels people with the Verizon LTE tab have been using? I'm basically looking for a fast combination and wouldn't mind some overclocks but I can't really seem to find ANY at all....anyone got any suggestions and preferably where the LTE still functions nicely?

Good luck lol lte doesnt get any love around here

[Q] Samsung Vibrant 4g?

My dad just upgraded to the Galaxy S 2, and gave me his galaxy s 4g. I was using my regular vibrant and i was wondering if development and such are the same, especially like one click root. Thanks
Well, superoneclickroot will work on the 4G. However, Vibrant custom roms will not work on the 4G.
There are FAR fewer ROMS and support for the 4g. Nobody on vibrant likes the 4g BC it got GB support when the vibrant didn't lol.

but will one click root for vibrant work for this? i found the xda thread, but im having trouble rooting it...
If you're running latest gb on GALAXY S 4g (not vibrant 4g), then no, superoneclick will not work as those root exploits have been patched.
You'll have better luck at stuff specifically for your phone in the gslaxy s 4g section.

[Q] Samsung Epic 4G Touch has ICS why not AT&T SGS2?

There's a working ICS port for Samsung Epic 4G Touch:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1475359
The phone is similar to the AT&T SGS2. Wondering if any developers out there can work their magic and port this to the AT&T SGS2 phone? It would be great to see this working on our device!
The answer is we do have ics. Just go to the i9100 forums and flash cm9 if your that desperate. In call audio does not work and the back button and search key don't work.
And btw this has been discussed many times

For that matter the Galaxy Nexus is pretty close too...
Why cant the DEV's figure out how to use the code from it???
Damnit - here we go again....
We don't have ICS because we don't have epic 4G touches.

No, the Epic 4G Touch does not have working ICS - that build could not be considered working or functional by any measure, just look at the list of things that are broken.
If you took an I9100 ICS release and flashed it on the I777 with no modifications, it would be more usable than that E4GT release.
Edit: FYI, that massive list of epic brokenness is the result of trying to make a 2.6.35.x kernel compatible with ICS on an Exynos device - it looks quite similar to what was listed as broken on I9100 CM9 before they moved to initramfs repacks of the leaked kernel binaries.
Really? Where's red5?
Mehh. Research and read my brother.

[Q] U.S SGS3

I am new to the custom ROM world. I am considering moving to the SG3. I was wondering if all of the current Development available for the SG3 applies to the U.S. version?
Will there be different threads here for the international version and US version for apps and development?
I am just wondering if I will be able to do anything with it when it launches here or if I will be stuck with TouchWiz for a while.
Thanks
There is already a forum area for the different U.S. GSIII versions. None of the development for the International version applies to the U.S./Canadian versions.
The forums for the U.S. phones can be found at the bottom of the XDA Main Forum page.
Thank you very much.
I see the Sprint and AT&T versions, but no forum for the Verizon SG3. Guess it wont matter. Should be the same phone, yes?

No one has a Verizon S3 yet, that is why there is no forum for it. But yes when it boils down to it the US S3 should be just like the Galaxy Nexus in that roms can work for both with some file changes for radio and RIL.

I went through the same thing... it appears as if none of the ICS roms support LTE..
If you are in need of your mobile data because you are on contract with Verizon there is NO ROM that you can use. At best all you can do is root it, install pershoot's kernel and customize manually. Those of us on contact are all in the same boat, many for nearly a year now waiting for ICS drivers that support the modem. If you don't need the modem then use one of the CM9 or AOKP ones that specify vzw.
Even after drivers are oficially released dont expect a lot in terms of custom ROM support for the SCH-i905 though, there simply arent any developers building for it. AOKP should be all we need though when drivers do come.

Op... You don't get Hubs... You build it yourself...

As for hubs, in my opinion they are more trouble than they are worth since creating them requires multiple widgets and customizations that ultimately take more memory and cause more lag. To each their own. Its fun to tinker and I did dabble a bit into trying to create my own but decided agaist it after wanting to slit my wrists rather than deal with minimalistic text's awful settings UI a moment longer LOL. Props to those with the time and patience to do it, I lack both.

Thank you all, That answers everything. Hubs do seem like a ungodly amount of work. So I will be making my own approach at customization. Who knows what Ill end up with. And I am on contract and use my mobile data all the time. So its a necessity for me.

that is a very disappointing thing.. I really wish the device more closely resembled the other units.. but oh well.. its still a good tablet.
Agreed, for me this is a race between the release of ICS for this tablet or another LTE tablet on Verizon with ICS on it being released but with better hardware. would love to see the transformer infinity get LTE.

Phone with best support?

I am helping my friend pick out a phone. He is on Boost Mobile. I have narrowed the phones down to the HTC Evo Design 4g or the ZTE Warp Sequent. I've been trying to search to see what all support there is for these devices as far as custom roms. I was hoping someone would know which phone would be better to get based on the support of these devices from the community. I have a Galaxy S2 and so easy to just come on here and look at the sub forum for it, but these phones do not have a sub forum on here. All help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

Nexus? That isn't one of the two devices I listed, and as far as I am aware the Nexus phones aren't compatible with Boost.
I have the Warp Sequent. Out of box, its running 4.0.4 and runs fairly quickly. I haven't had any luck finding any custom rooms that actually work for it though. I'm pretty sure that the Evo design has some Custom Roms, but don't quote me on that.
*edit: Now running SuperRom. Sooo sweet. I've had no problems at all with this phone now that I have this rom.
