Easiest way is unlock bootloader and flash custom kernel. Via flashtoolas the custom kernels are prerooted. no need to downgrade

Man, rooting with locked bl is also simple.
Plus, Unlocking bl is not the best and safe way to root.
You shouldn't advice anyone to unlock bl, it is a personal choice.
Beside The user must understand the consequences.
you won't be happy if someone blamed you for messing up his device.
Hope you understand this

Hello all.
After changing to doom kernel I need to manually copy the WiFi modules cause they disappear after reboot.
I use donut HD 2.2.9 + init runner final
Any solution?

The thing is that I had this kernel before and everything was working nicely. I tried the th kernel and then this trouble began to occur. So I reverted to the doom ulBL.
And the problem is still there.
strange behavior.

I have a gs4 and want to put carbon rom on it, I have the latest version of everything to install but I keep running into the same issue.
I cannot get TWRP or Clockwork mod to work, all it does it break my recovery mode and I have to go to the samsung guy at bestbuy to flash it.
It is rooted.
Any alternative ways would be fine too, I just want to run carbon and need to fix it soon.
Thanks.

So I found out the problem, 4.4.4 does not support custom recoveries, I will revert to 4.4.2 and try it out.
