I have been attempting to apply a work around from tjayz thread for restoring recovery. In the CWD folder we are supposed to search for 5) Navigate to clockworkmod/download/download.clockworkmod.com/recoveries/
There you will see some two files - recovery-clockwork-4.0.0.4-p7100.img and recovery-clockwork-4.0.0.3-p7100.img
I only see files with names like -2110140792 and -21108160.
Does anyone know if you can rename these files as described in his post?
Thanks

Thanks first.
Is possible that copy files to recovery partition via adb?
The way it is, I'm porting CW Recovery to a new device, flash img to recovery, it's not work at all, stop at bootlogo.
I try to extract ramdisk.gz from native recovery.img, but failed, gunzip/cpio is useless. someone said copy files to recovery partition, CW Recovery worked. How to? via adb?
If it's possible, copy compiled files first, dump_image recovery secondly, packbootimg finally.

I backed up my ROM before flashing UnNamed rom. I need to flash back to stock. When I go to Restore in ClockworkMod Recovery, no files are found. I can see my backup file on the sd card but not when I choose "Restore". I have the file also zipped on SD card and I've put it in the main directory on phone. If I try to load it from zip file, it starts but then says "installation aborted" after a few seconds.
Is there a certain place this recovery file is supposed to be located?
Or is there something I'm missing? Any help would be appreciated. I have the backup file and CWM is working fine, just can't seem to get the two together.
Thanks
supposed to be in
sd card/clockworkmod/backup/2011-xx-xx.xx.xx.xx

Thanks, that was it. I must have inadvertently moved or cut it. Put it back and I'm back in business. Thanks again.

Sorry about that.

I'm looking to use the AVD emulator (running 2.3.3 right now) to see about running custom ROMs from the SDCard. Thing is I can access the SDcard from the emulator, but to push files to it I'd imagine I'd have to use adb. I'm curious to see if there is an easier way (or quicker for that matter) to put files to the SDcard without having to push single files and then copy to the SDcard via adb. Does anyone know if there is another way?
What I plan to do next after pushing a ROM to the SDcard is to see if I can change the bootloader or have the bl point to the sdcard to run the ROM from there. But one thing at a time first. Thanks!
Hi Climber Ty,
Firstly, as your title indicates, this is a question and therefore it shpuld be in q and a I think.
I tried the AVD myself too and if you type adb devices is adb it shows up fine, so pushing via that way should work.
As you stated, this probably can be done easier. I believe the installer makes an .img file for the AVD, which is somewhere in the sdk/avd folder. There are editors available for img files (just search google and you'll find them) I think you can just copy your files into this img file and then they will be on your sdcard, never tested this though.

I tried to experiment with Cyanogen nightlies, but unfortunately it didn't end so well. I have used ODIN to start to restore my tablet, and I have the default rom that came with my Galaxy Tab 10.1 (wifi).
My problem however is that I don't have that zip file on my tablet and without the ability to boot it and push the file onto it, how do I flash it? I can't use clockwork, but is there a way in which I can use ODIN to push the zip file?

So I was going to root my galaxy s2 and first went into the recovery mode.
I went to locate the zip file to update through and I couldn't find it, I put the two zips needed in the main directory and when I go to recovery mode I can see my folders but not the zip files, I've checked twice.
Any help?
Solved
Sorry, I placed my two zips the internal sd but recovery was looking at external card.
My bad.

hey dude, at least dont be a noob when ur posting.
when u have new issue's please use the same thread u have created, by just editing ur thread title, rather than creating a new thread for each of ur issue's
u know what i am trying to tell u right.
so please see to it in the future, else people who really want to help will ignore u for the same.
because creating new threads unneccessarily and spamming is against XDA rules.
I understand, Its just I found I had a diffrent issue regarding SuperSU and not finding a zip file.
But I see what you mean and will do in the future.
