I tried to experiment with Cyanogen nightlies, but unfortunately it didn't end so well. I have used ODIN to start to restore my tablet, and I have the default rom that came with my Galaxy Tab 10.1 (wifi).
My problem however is that I don't have that zip file on my tablet and without the ability to boot it and push the file onto it, how do I flash it? I can't use clockwork, but is there a way in which I can use ODIN to push the zip file?

I have been attempting to apply a work around from tjayz thread for restoring recovery. In the CWD folder we are supposed to search for 5) Navigate to clockworkmod/download/download.clockworkmod.com/recoveries/
There you will see some two files - recovery-clockwork-4.0.0.4-p7100.img and recovery-clockwork-4.0.0.3-p7100.img
I only see files with names like -2110140792 and -21108160.
Does anyone know if you can rename these files as described in his post?
Thanks

I backed up my ROM before flashing UnNamed rom. I need to flash back to stock. When I go to Restore in ClockworkMod Recovery, no files are found. I can see my backup file on the sd card but not when I choose "Restore". I have the file also zipped on SD card and I've put it in the main directory on phone. If I try to load it from zip file, it starts but then says "installation aborted" after a few seconds.
Is there a certain place this recovery file is supposed to be located?
Or is there something I'm missing? Any help would be appreciated. I have the backup file and CWM is working fine, just can't seem to get the two together.
Thanks

Thanks, that was it. I must have inadvertently moved or cut it. Put it back and I'm back in business. Thanks again.

Sorry about that.

I have just rooted my device succesfully and i have been at that menu where i can choose to upgrade my rom from SD card but now i cant get it back.
So all in all i have a rooted device with standard rom installed but i want to use the rom thats in a zip file on my sd card
First of all, wrong forum!!. This should be in Q&A. If you have a rooted device, download a rom of your choice and copy it to your sdcard. Then reboot into CWM and flash the zip file, choose "instal zip from sdcard". There should be installation instruction in a rom thread that you choose. Search, search and search again. Everything is here just need to do a wee search.
Wrong section and what you asked can be found by searching and reading. Thread locked.
I've rooted my Galaxy S3 to the SuperNexus rom. I really don't like it so I'm trying to either change back to the stock rom or to the 4.2.1 ROM
Cyanogen Recovery does not see the files when I put them on the SD card. I figure this has something to do with ODIN? The only thing in the roms is a .tar.md5 file and another file. I don't have windows so there is no way I can run ODIN. I am trying to install it now with heimdall. I direct heimdall at the .tar.md5 file and it seems to be decompressing fine until on one of the ROMs it says "firmware.xml is missing" and the other it says something about not being able to find zImage.
Can anybody help me?
I have decompressed the .tar.md5 files manually but there is no zImage or firmware.xml file in either of them.
I feel like the SuperNexus ROM is seriously lacking in basic features that the phone had before I flashed it (i.e. you can't see the battery percentage without an extra app) so I would really like to get back to something a bit more feature-full.
Thank you in advance
just restore your nandroid backup that you obviously took before flashing super nexus.
Alternatively, flash any rooted stock rom available here via recovery
Also please read general > sticky roll-up thread > understanding the basics before rooting.
Do the reading first.

FYI The zImage is in packed witht the ramdisk into a boot.img. If you want to go poking around check out chef central and find a script to split the boot.img.
