Title says it all. I hate the battery bar. I wish I knew how to do it myself.
I contacted the guy who posted this theme http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1366170&highlight=ics+zip the ics.zip
I wouldn't mind trying to port it over myself, I've actually been trying to figure out how the last few hours.. but I would love that theme. Mainly for the battery icon. But also for a little more ICS look.
Working on a stock-looking HTC Style battery with percentage right now. Was thinking this today when I looked at my phone and said to myself.. "I wonder where my battery is really at?"
Getting ready to install it now. Once I finish testing, if all goes well, I'll post it in a few minutes.

I was gonna contact the guy who made the caprombeta rom, he had battery % showing in his.. since he had his rom out so quick I imagine he must have had a quick and dirty method he could share.
I've seen a lot of people griping about the lack of an ICS look so I was considering using this thread that has a tool to port themes with the ICS.zip attached to that link I posted earlier.. it is supposed to put it into any rom(and looking at the batch file it doesn't need a whole rom, just what needs to be flashed). I would probably have it done already but I'm on my mac, and too lazy to sit at the desktop
Well here's mine. Nothing changed over stock theme except I added the percentage to the battery icon.
Also has smooth charging animations instead of the standard choppy ones and shows the current percentage between animation cycles while charging.
Used the UOT Kitchen to make it but replaced the battery images with my own. Hope you guys like it.
Just install in recovery.
Smexy background by the way

You da man! Thank you, was so sick of guessing what % I had left after only running it 24 hours. Works great.

I was playing with UOT earlier, how did you use your own icons? I was looking for that for a WHILE..

Attached. Just extract it from the rar. When you upload a pic as an attachment, it compresses it to a different resolution.

It's not a feature directly implemented into the UOT Kitchen.
After the kitchen is done and you download your zip, extract the framework-res.apk from the zip.
Extract the "res" folder from the framework-res.apk and look for the directory "drawable-hdpi". In there you will find 206 images related to the battery. I replaced them all with images that matched HTC's stock battery but including percentage.
After you replace all the images to look how you want, just replace the res folder inside framework-res.apk and replace the one in the zip.

did you have to wipe /cache before you installed this?

I got a critical error, all I needed was framework-res.apk, SystemUI.apk and com.htc.resources.apk right? So I'm wondering if we don't have a MTD update binary(I didn't think we have emmc) or if I remember right that I am supposed to recompile or sign the apk or something..
Sigh, I had it all done too
Works great.
Was hoping to use this one -
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1620376
But couldn't because I'm running this theme -
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1620331
And the update file for it still included all the other (unaltered) images which resulted in the file overwriting all the altered images from the theme lol.
Thankfully this one was put together sans all the unaltered images so it works with the theme just fine. Thanks =)

Is there any way I can revert back to the original battery the percentage stops at 27 until my phone is almost dead

Same thing here...except mine went something like this 27>26>30>28>26 but the system says my battery is 22. Is anyone else having this issue? Using dharveys battery mod

That's really strange because I haven't noticed that problem. After I first installed ARHD, I noticed my battery percent in the status bar would be 2% high from the battery percent displayed in the unlock screen while unlocking.
After about 2 charge cycles and wiping the battery stats once that normalized and now I have excellent battery life and it's extremely accurate.

Thanks for that! Super handy, especially since you can see the %age from the lock screen (why wouldn't google/htc build that in??).
One note though - using it today and it reported 9% remaining within the battery icon, but 7% through other means. Not a huge deal, but thought I'd let you know.
Massiv.
I'm running the DarkFire ROM for the Photon 4G of course. Is there a zip I can flash to get 1% increments instead of 10? I'm on android 2.3.4.
I have wondered the same thing with factory rom... i updated to 2.3.5 though... dont wanna void warranty on my electrify(re badged mopho)... I find it annoying my go launcher says like 70 or so and the stock battery indiciator is 90... I like placement of stock battery indicator and wish it went in 1% increments too... If you find anything on this please post back.
is there any dev who can create a 1% battery mod for the ics leaks, especially .209? i tried the UOT kitchen but it only reads in increments of 10%.
im also curious if anyone might be willing to try to deodex the rom for modding?
+1
No offense, but if the OTA ICS is supposed to be just around the corner why should the DEV's waste time on something that will be lucky to be finished before its even obsolete. Just doesn't seem like a smart way to spend there time to me.
If your in that dire need of a 1% indicator just slap a 1x1 circle battery widget to your main home screen.
I'd like to share your optimism that the moto's ICS will work on 1% basis instead of 10%.
Of course there are some overworks (I am using battery indicator pro to get 1% accuracy) but it would be nice to have the 1% mod so no other applications are needed....
Even if ICS runs 10%, the devs would be better off modding that when it comes out.
I think thats what the response was meant to mean.

Well.. "Battery Circle" from the Play store seems to do get the job done, provides 1% accuracy and seems pretty accurate to me
once your used to a mod, it's hard to give it up. uot kitchen states it can cook odexed roms but it did not.

thats not what I meant, I highly doubt out of the box ICS to do 1%, what I meant was why should they right code for a leak, just to have to rewrite the code a week later when the official releases.
Badass Battery Monitor also works on 209, with 1% steps.

yeah but i don't want a extra app to accomplish what could be done by simply deodexing the ics leak. i hope a dev takes this on soon, it's driving me nuts.
I use badass battery monitor also. I even made a n add-on using eclipse battery icons. It is irritating to have an extra app, but I have grown fond of it now. I know I will always have 1%.
I can say, as someone who deodexes roms, until the OTA is released I do not plan on deodexing the leaks. Mostly due to the fact that leaks are not final, and there is a new leak quite often.
You could try sp_hicks09 KOA Rom. It works on any ICS Leak.

yeah i tried to deodex myself today and it's a nightmare. too bad we do not know when the ota will be out. as far as aokp and cm9 im not fond of the data drops, that's why ive been modding the stock .209. ive done everything but add battery %.

Seems like there are only a handful of people who actually want the Stock battery icon. I have no idea how to theme Sense 4.0, and if I knew how I would. What I'm asking or requesting is a how to to get the stock battery icon WITHOUT percentages, and includes quick settings. If there's a zip, or someone can tell me how to go about this that would be awesome. :good: Just got this phone and I love it, just the glaring annoying issue of seeing 100...99....98.. on my battery icon.
