Aight i just flashed the Simply Honey 5.1 On my vibrant and it seems i cant recieve calls it just goes to a black screen when im getting call it rings and everything but no screen shows up to answer the call thats the ONLY problem i have and i cant find out why its happening i need HELP ! ! !
AnyOne have the same problem ?
I have been having the same problem for a few weeks now, luckily, I don't get many calls. I can't find a permanent fix for it as of yet. When I reflash between v5.0 and v5.1, I can receive calls for about a day, but then it goes back to not being able to receive them. Do you also get the triangular notification that has the exclamation mark and says something like "Unable to connect to T-Mobile network!"?
Nope i just hear my phone ringing it goes to a black screen then drops the call after about 5-10 sec of ringing i tried reflashing the rom and everything its happened before but idk if its because of a bad flash or just a general problem with the rom
What's your battery at when this happens? I think this happening with a low battery is a known issue with the kernel

what if you extract phone.apk and dialertabactivity.apk from the previous simply honey, and paste over the ones that are failing? Just put phone into flight mode first to prevent force close errors then reboot..I "think" that's how I fixed my similar problem
Used root explorer

Also: I tried to re-flash and update, and still get this problem....

I'm not sure it's a problem with your phone, I think it's meant to do that . I don't know if there's a mod out there to stop it though...
It's definitely meant to do that
damn then i have to hope that a mod will be released
Turn the phone off?
I think you should request a dev to do that as I think it will never be made as your phone should really do that. I'm not sure if there's even a phone which will not turn on its screen when a sms is received.

Coming from htc phones all this while..this screen turning on when recieving sms/mms/email is really annoying..hopefully someone can cook something to totally prevent this. I guess samsung designed it thia way due to lack of notification led.

on my nexus one, the screen will not turn on when an sms is received. but i can turn this option on if i want so that the screen DOES turn on with an sms. its all about choice. maybe you guys could try handcent, and root and remove the stock messaging app to stop this.
i've just noticed that my phone has started doing this too.
i have sms popup installed and the default sms notification is turned off therefore sms popup should handle the sms notifications.
i have "leave the screen switched off" set in sms popup but the screen still turns on.
this is also happening with the exchange client and i think it might have started since KE7 ...
any ideas ?
last night i hit the camera app by accident, when i backed out of it the screen flashed and so did the flash on the back(no pic was taken) now everytime someone calls wither i answer with bluetooth or the phone they cant hear me. i either have to reset the phone or call them back..has anyone experienced this issue?
The problem stays even after a reboot? Are you still using the stock rom?
Everytime I receive a SMS message my screen turns on for about 3 seconds then shuts off. I need this disabled ASAP, so annoying! I thought I saw this mentioned somewhere but when I searched it I didnt find anything for the SGS3.

Only way I seen was to use third party sms app. Hand cent or go sms both work and keeps screen off after you set it up that way.

Yea Handcent fixed it for me & I like Handcent better anyway.
That's more of a work around rather than a solution. There's got to be a fix for this. Someone else posted about this in the general section.
Hi guys,
After a full update of Android Pie, my phone keeps flickering/flashing during receiving or making calls, done some trouble shooting like reboot in safe mode and no app is causing this, done hard reboot, master reset, changed wall paper or even brightness so i think could be a bug caused by Firmware upgrade, however this happens only when calling or receiving calls from contacts, doesn't happen on whats app call or even Facebook. I also never dropped my phone so I am really struggling to find an answer
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Cheers

I think it's normal, because when I make a call the background colour of the phone app flickers when trying to stablish call and once stablished it stops and stays fixed
Sent from S.G. S9+ Duos
I dont think is normal, one of my friend has the S8 plus and it doesn't flash while receiving/answering calls. Also tested on another 9 plus with Oreo no flashing issues.
My phone does this, the colour moves up and down, its part of the UI

I have fixed through developer options, its not normal to flash while on or receiving calls
Change animator duration scale in developer settings to 0.5 or higher
The background colour flashes dark and light its supposed to do this, maybe you mean something else
