Just went from OG Droid -> bionic and blur is killing me. Where can I find gingerbread "stock" basic apps like gallery, alarm clock etc. or should I just try loading my froyo ones from my old system?

If I recall correctly, the stock Vibrant firmware had simple music controls on the lockscreen. I love eugene's ROMs (nothing against sombionix's ROMs, just haven't tried 'em yet), but the two I've tried (Vibrant 9 & FrankenTwiz) don't, afaik, have lockscreen controls. I'm a lab rat, and I'm playing music most of the day, so this is a feature I really miss. I've tried Lithium and cubed, but the lockscreen behavior was weird I thought for both of them. Is there any way to get the stock music player, or whatever files were in the stock Vibrant f/w that allowed you to skip songs, etc on the lockscreen? Or, really, any way to get lockscreen music controls on the Vibrant w/o either using widgetlocker or reverting to stock f/w?

Hi,
My suggestion would be to use the one-click application here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=784500
to revert your phone to the default samsung "glass/puzzle" lockscreen instead of the AOSP 2.1 lockscreen (so far nobody has figured out how to merge the samsung lockscreen music controls into the stock AOSP lockscreen.)
Then grab MusicPlayer.apk from one of the many stock backups floating round, and adb push ~path_to_file /system/app
reboot, clear cache if necessary, and you should be back to normal.
Cheers,
=)

Restored the old android.policy.jar and pulled the musicplayer.apk from the Vibrant 4 ROM, adb-ed that over, works great, thanks so much.
I installed the virus rom (which rules by the way) but there are a couple widgets that are no longer available after installing this rom.
How can I install the stock widgets that came with the phone without reverting back to a different rom?
For example; I would like to use the favorites widget and it is no longer available....the facebook friend stream is also not available....
Any suggestions? Can I just re-download the apk files somewhere and re-install them?
thanks
foos
i believe VirusRom is a senseless rom. meaning that the sense launcher(rosie) and almost everythign to do with sense has been taken out. in order to use any of the sense widgets, you would need to have rosie installed. i believe virusrom has a sense version. if you look in the VirusRom thread, i think its in the second post.

If I could just get favorites back I would be happy. I went through the rosie settings and don't see it in there.
thanks
What are the differences between Gingerblur and stock 2.2?
Stock blows, gingerblur rules.
To embellish on that point, they are both Android 2.2.....Gingerblur is just a themed version of 2.2. However, it does quite a bit more:
Features
Deodexed framework & system
Gingerbread style
Stock Android 2.3 lock screen theme
Android 2.3 Gingerbread icons for applications
Removes /system/app bloatware
Removes /data/app bloatware
Nexus S Live Wallpaper
Flash 10.2
with fully upgraded Tegra 2 support
Gingerbread Launcher
Gingerbread themed dialer
GingerBlur boot screen
Widget Picker (for grouped widgets)
Gingerbread Power Widget
Gingerbread Keyboard
Ad blocking via “hosts” file
Stock Gallery (3D Gallery)
Stock Clock (with Alarm Clock)
with Google Voice Action (ie. “set alarm 4:00 PM”)
Sideloading
Webtop hack option
HDMI hack option
Stock Messaging app
In short : less bloat, faster speed, better battery life, looks cooler (imo)
I mean actual stock 2.2, like what's on the G2X. Not motoblur.

With respect to the motobloat... would you say if i use the freeze method using Ti Backup with the safe listed apps , would it be like the gingerblur minus the fancy apps/addons/themes???
What i'm trying to ask is if we just remove the bloatwares using the frozen apps, would it be as fast as the gingerblur?
Thanks

Nope. Gingerblur adds speed improvements.
Going back and forth between Alien and CM7 - love CM7 functionality, but occasionally need some of the stuff still in work on the ROM and will decide to go back to Alien.
One thing I find myself really missing is the fact that CM7 groups your widgets when you go to add - so instead of having 8-12 widget options for a single app, you'll have one entry for the app that says (12 widgets) or something similar.
Is there any way to flash this functionality onto the system if running a different ROM?
Thanks!
Homebase 6.2 Blue Chronic rom has this as well as cm7...

new to RAZR after 3 years Of samsung Touchwiz UI.
Have to say this, the motoblur light is incredible to me. I have never loved a UI so much before. Having had AOSP gingerbread and touchwiz gingerbread, i can't believe this is still gingerbread. I have no desire for ICS anymore. My friend has a Nexus with ICS and I find it boring compared to this.
Have to ask, how is this light? It seems like a complete gingerbread makeover.
My favorite features:
1. cool toggle for mute on lock screen.
2. Favorite contacts widgets with pull down
3. Social networking combo with better comment support than facebooks own app
4. swiping pages transition glow.
5. Honeycomb like resizing, drag and drop to screen.
6. Folder groupings and animation for it.
7. messaging looks like iphone.
8. MUSIC APP. wow. This is just amazing. (internet radio, podcasts, my own stored music, music store). The way it automatically downloads lyrics and shows them as the song goes. etc....... ++++++
9. clearing out individual notifications.
10. Weather widget
How is this motoblur light again? wow, what a phone!
-New overwhelmed user.
Having used Touchwiz and stock Gingerbread, as well (as well as CM GB and several others), I agree completely. I never thought I would say this, but Blur is better than stock. Hell has frozen over.
Blur=root and put stock rom

I too am enjoying Blur on my Razr. Love the Favorite Contacts and Weather widgets. The Dock looks gorgeous.
I came from the Eris with sense. Tried every ROM possible with many different launchers, but have no pressing urge to switch besides backing up my homescreen setup which isn't a big deal since I'm not flashing ROMS every week.
I actually don't mind the blur either. I run adw though because i don't like the blur icons and like the swipe up-down feature of adw. Blur runs smoother but that's to be expected.
I also like the Blur and stock widgets are actually usable. I especially like stock corporate apps like corporate email, tasks and calendar. I use it on daily basis to accept meeting etc.
I saw several reviews that said this is the first phone without blur. They were either really wrong or misunderstood this phone.
