Trying to use the push function of IM+ or Beejive...they both use the C2DM functionality.
Nothing gets pushed to my phone when I exit the app, I run my own jabber server so I can see that the service is still connected to my account.
I tried chrome to phone, which is what google reccommends to test C2DM, and it works normally. So C2DM appears to be working on my device...
I did notice when I installed Chrome to Phone on my atrix it asked me for access to my google account, but neither of the IM apps did this....not sure what the problem is..
Any advice appreciated.
Thanks!
wow, no one has this problem or any advice?

My Google talk is not set to "Automatically sign in" however, when I open the app it signs in automatically.
Just curious if anyone has a possible fix?
Thanks!

"Automatically sign in" is for signing i automatically when the fone starts or when connectivity is established.
it is not like a desktop application since the app is linked to the gmail account on your fone.
alternatively you can choose nimbuzz as an IM client if you dont want to sign in always with the same credentials..
The one thing I was trying to do was make it so it doesn't show that I am always available. No matter if I log out or kill the app it always shows that I am available on gtalk.
Is there a solution to this?
Have you considered meebo or another app instead of using talk? I don't use chat apps but it might do what you are looking for.
I use ebuddy, but that is besides the point.
Here is the thing- since the gtalk is set up with the original google account (the one when you originally set up the phone) it does not let you delete that account off gtalk. But on top of that, no matter what I do i.e. sign out or kill the gtalk app (and even if it shows gtalk is not running), it always shows that I am available and never truly logs me out.
So with the original google account on the phone, I am now always available on gtalk and I can never log out- just really bothers me. Anyone have solution?
Thanks
Looks like the always available is an ongoing problem, I haven't found a solution yet...

Got it so ebuddy is no longer holding my gtalk hostage (I no longer show always available). I used the solution at the end of this forum:

Hi all,
I have very annoying problem. Every now and then pop-up appears saying google talk authentication failed. I do not use google talk nor do I wish to. Google talk service is intentionally disabled for my account (i have my own jabber server).
Everything works fine (gmail, market etc) only problem is this annoying popup with notification sound. Could you please help me with getting rid of it? I need to disable it on android side, enabling chat on the account is not an option (other hell breaks loose then)
Thank you very much

I'm currently running CM10-20121210-Nightly-d2spr.
I was trying it to see if I can get the camera to work and of course it still doesn't focus so I've pretty much given up on the camera ever working again. I guess I can live with that but the one thing I cannot live without on my phone is the gmail not working.
I can receive emails just fine but it will not send emails. It says "sending" when I press send and acts like it's working but it never leaves the phone.
Also, now when I delete an email in my gmail account it is not deleting on my desktop. So I guess I have two problems, the "SEND" feature is not working and it's no longer syncing with my desktop.
Any help, suggestions?
Sorry - found the solutuion after posting
But if anyone else is having the same problem..
Go into settings, applications, manage applications, Gmail, then click on clear data. You may also try rebooting after that.
I followed steps in this thread almost to the letter (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1909996) installed Gemini App Manager, BBS, LBE Security and Titanium Backup Pro to freez app. listed in this list (https://spreadsheets.google.com/spr...1gdDJRekl4QmkyNmIzUmRvX2h3UDVkQXc&output=html) as SAFE to freez but I must have disabled something I don’t know what but I’m not getting push notifications from gmail app., fb messenger app., etc…. So if someone could tell me which process is controlling push services.
I'm on stock 4.0.4 ROM, rooted...
Baseband I9100XXLQ6, build nr. ...XWLPY

Thankyou, but didn't help. It seems that via mobile data, all that works is the browser, google play and facebook(without push). Gtalk, viber, teamviewer, mail, and any other push notifications just won't work.
Reedit: SOLVED!. After/before installing the FIX, Users should also check the access points used for internet service. My service provider has 3 access pint: Net, MMs, Wap. MMS was initialy selected, through that service, push and other servers are unavailable.
