Alright friend, are you rooted? do you have CWM recovery? Or are you familiar with odin?

Hi Fren,
My tab rooted already and also have cwm. I never use odin at all cuz it is my first time to droid OS. But i would learn faster if you can give me a guide. I duno how to copy new rom to my device.

Did you make a nandroid backup in CWM before atempting this? Do you have any backups to flash?

wut is nadroid? u mean the using rom manager to back up or sth? i dun think i have a back up file

Just turn the tab off. Boot in recovery and do a factory-reset.

No. just turn the tab off. Then reboot in recovery as stated in the post above

im on that state now. wut next?

I don't understand, did it reboot all the way? Aren't you back up and running again?

Ure in the recovery now?!~Then navigate with the volume up/down button to factory-reset. confirm with pressing the powerbutton

yeah it is rebooting all the i have no back up at all. how can i flash to new rom?

hi all,
Big thank for ur effort to help. Finally i got bak my tab to work. I jux flash to stock firmware by Odin. now got an experiance.... Will play more n learn more

a factory reset will not work, as all it does it wipe /data and /cache, framework-res is in /system, which is not touched by a data wipe.
the solution (which you have found on your own) is to flash a rom (even the same rom you're on) as it will rewrite the /system data which includes framework-res.
the reason flashing a theme was suggested is because themes also contain the framework-res.apk, and flashing a theme will not result in any data loss.
i hope this helps clear up some confusion and any animosity

Download the rooted stock or deodex version, copy to root of ur tab. Open rom manager, select install rom. After that it's pretty much self explanatory.

i assume since it is rooted that you already have clockwork recovery installed.
hold power and vol down to boot into recovery
select wipe cache/factory restore
select install from zip
select the rom i showed you
reboot!
you must put the rom in the root of your tab first
use androzip to move it there

sorry but still a newbie here and i might get annoying to some peeps here but just very cautious on how this would work. so i'm going to ask question
factory restore - does this mean i'm going a clean up and unrooting my device? from the steps above? is the end product going to have the touchwiz update or is this the touchwiz update with a email sync problem? where does the touchwiz update happen? i didn't see that step above?
lastly.. is there a video i watch to see this in action.
galaxytabhacks.com is a bit slow on updating their video's on how to update a rooted GT 10.1 with touchwiz update...
thank you all for the current post and i'm sure that there are many users here that will appreciate this information.. (for all you do please post and cheer on the peeps that helped us out).

almost confident
ok.. so go to clockwork recovery - i know how with that two options (icons by pressing those buttons)
make a backup - don't know how?
factory reset - i'll read up
install zip from sdcard - done it before
install - if i find it i'll select install
reboot - hopefully
so how does the backup work - any steps.. where can i find that option. thanks again for all these information..
in the main clockword recovery menu select back up and restore ...select backup
these are all in the main menu of cwr... dont worry about the wipe/factory restore just select it and do it.....make sure you put the new rom in the root of your tab first. just like you did with the root.zip when you rooted
put the new rom zip in your tab
boot into cwr
make a back up
do a wipe/factory restore
select install from zip
select choose zip
select the rom zip you downloaded and put in the root of your tab
install
reboot
this is from the first link i gave you
Here is the clockwork mod menu
- Reboot system now (self explanatory )
- Apply update from SDcard. (when you connect your device to your computer it will show up as tablet. The SDcard that cwm refers to is simply your device storage. Always make sure to copy install.zips to the root directory of your tablet storage.) You use this when applying an update for a specific ROM if that is what the ROM developer says.
- Wipe Data/ Factory Reset You should always do this before you install a new ROM or if you are having minor issues with your device.
- Wipe cache partition Think of this as the lite version of whats above . If you do above though it doesn't hurt to do this too.
- Install zip from SDcard Use this to install new ROMs.
- Back up and Restore
- Mounts and Storage use this to connect your device to your computer when in recovery mode. It is also possible to transfer files to your device while in this mode.
- Advanced What you are interested in here is something called dalvik cache, you want to wipe this too before installing any new ROM
- Power off
this is the main menu of clockwork recovery
backupand restore...wipedata/factory reset...install zip reboot are all on this menu

How do I get it back to stock. I have no backup with it at all....and don't know what is happening.

hes not talking about stupid kies backup, its cwm backup. boot into cwm via home+power button, then just do restore
yeah if you have a cwm backup, restore it using recovery mode, if you dont then you'll have to flash your firmware again by odin

Android problem

well, i tried to install cyanogen mod 7.2 official with no succes
i downloaded the files needed (gapps and cyanogen) put in sd card and i turn off phone then boot up again while pressing home.
i wipe factory reset + user data
then i went in sd card and install both gapps and cyanogen(first) afterwards i reboot the phone. my phone boot normally, it displays samsung and then it displays android and stuck on it..... and when i try to turn the phone off it turn on by itself again . i have to remove battery so that it wont turn on again... help plz need to know what to do ><
i bet u didnt do a " wipe cache partition" try it and report.....and remember that the first boot takes a bit long( the cm7 boot animation goes on and on )
and is your phone gt s5830 or gt s5830i???? bcoz the cm7 rom is ONLY for gts5830
reply fast...
Are you sure you did that with Cwm 5, and not the stock recovery???
If not, install Cwm 5, wipe everything, install Cm 7.2, reboot.
Then reboot again in recovery, and install Gapps.
Done!
Edit: Don not forget to mount system and data before flashing gapps.

Yeah right. Nowadays people never stop to amaze me. U want to flash cm yet u didnt even know what recovery u use. Didnt the tutoriual u followed mention anything about cm roms needs cwm recovery?
Now my advice would be flashing stock rom via odin and stay with it before u do any more damage to the poor phone. look in the sticky thread or in the dev subforum howto flash stock rom via odin.

OK...u might have to format the system with factory reset ..are u OK doing that??
YOU WILL LOSE UR DATA...not the mem card data...just the apps u installed and all...
So to get into stock recovery:
press vol up + down + power button
U shud see a menu with white text...here u can look for the option of factory reset...not sure Where it is..but if u look around u will see it...

Do the above and the second option in the list will be will be Recovery, press vol- the highlight it then press vol+ and the phone will reboot and show a screen with an Android and a !. Press vol+ and vol- to show options. Use vol- to highlight "wipe data/factory reset and press the power button. This will do a Factory reset and wipe all data (not SD cards). Once done you should see the option to reboot system, highlight this and press the power button. if it has worked the phone should start as if you had just opened the box.

We haven't stock firmware .sbf for XT910S any where
I think only CWM type .img flash via fastboot will give CWM on my phone then Flash stock rom via cwm but we are not CWM for Razr .img
Yeah you're basically stuck in terms of this. You should have installed cwm/bootmenu as it is designed to save you from such problems. Send it back to factory for service and they'll flash it clean and have it working.
You'll need a fastboot file which I don't think there is for the xt910s at the moment if you want to repair it manually.
Edit
Looked in this thread and there is a zip posted that could be used with fastboot and it flashes. If you're on GB, which I think this is for, you could try downloading it and flash only the system_signed.img by using moto-fastboot.exe . Since its only editing the system, it may just let you boot into it and then let you install bootmenu/cwm and restore a backup or have it there for safety from now on incase you mess up.

You can flash it via fastboot cmd line.

I highly doubt this will work. To fix it for sure, just send it back to the service centre and they will flash a factory image for you.

Never factory reset from a custom ROM. It is recommended to do it from recovery. Your reset has wiped too much including important parts of the OS. Flash another copy again.
