Do you know what you original system version is (mine is: xxx.xxx.x.XT910.retail.en.EU)?

OK...u might have to format the system with factory reset ..are u OK doing that??
YOU WILL LOSE UR DATA...not the mem card data...just the apps u installed and all...
So to get into stock recovery:
press vol up + down + power button
U shud see a menu with white text...here u can look for the option of factory reset...not sure Where it is..but if u look around u will see it...

Do the above and the second option in the list will be will be Recovery, press vol- the highlight it then press vol+ and the phone will reboot and show a screen with an Android and a !. Press vol+ and vol- to show options. Use vol- to highlight "wipe data/factory reset and press the power button. This will do a Factory reset and wipe all data (not SD cards). Once done you should see the option to reboot system, highlight this and press the power button. if it has worked the phone should start as if you had just opened the box.

We haven't stock firmware .sbf for XT910S any where
I think only CWM type .img flash via fastboot will give CWM on my phone then Flash stock rom via cwm but we are not CWM for Razr .img

Yeah you're basically stuck in terms of this. You should have installed cwm/bootmenu as it is designed to save you from such problems. Send it back to factory for service and they'll flash it clean and have it working.
You'll need a fastboot file which I don't think there is for the xt910s at the moment if you want to repair it manually.
Edit
Looked in this thread and there is a zip posted that could be used with fastboot and it flashes. If you're on GB, which I think this is for, you could try downloading it and flash only the system_signed.img by using moto-fastboot.exe . Since its only editing the system, it may just let you boot into it and then let you install bootmenu/cwm and restore a backup or have it there for safety from now on incase you mess up.

Download the zip file from that thread and extract it. System signed will be one of the files.
You can flash it via fastboot cmd line.
fastboot flash system system_signed.img
I highly doubt this will work. To fix it for sure, just send it back to the service centre and they will flash a factory image for you.

hi all,
Big thank for ur effort to help. Finally i got bak my tab to work. I jux flash to stock firmware by Odin. now got an experiance.... Will play more n learn more
a factory reset will not work, as all it does it wipe /data and /cache, framework-res is in /system, which is not touched by a data wipe.
the solution (which you have found on your own) is to flash a rom (even the same rom you're on) as it will rewrite the /system data which includes framework-res.
the reason flashing a theme was suggested is because themes also contain the framework-res.apk, and flashing a theme will not result in any data loss.
i hope this helps clear up some confusion and any animosity

Webtop not working

Hi,
I just purchased an Atrix 4G from an online seller. My problem is that it has a custom rom (nottachtrix 1.2.6). I'm actually fine with that, tho the webtop is not working. All I see is the "bouncing" motorolla logo.
All I want is to be able to use the phone and use the Webtop and multimedia player. I have a docking station that comes with USB ports.
Here are some info about my phone:
System Version: 4.5.141.MB860.ATT.en.US
MODEL: MB860
ANDROID VERSION: 2.3.6
BASEBAND VERSION: N_01.87.00R
WEBTOP VERSION: OSHWT_U1_6.48.0
KERNEL VERSION: 2.6.32.56-MB860-faux123-GB-024 [email protected] #6
BUILD NUMBER: NottacTrix 1.2.6
I'm very new to this and have never tried (or see the need for me) rooting my previous android phones.
I also tried researching on how to restore to the stock rom but it seems that it can brick my phone.
Please help...
Also I already did a Factory reset but no luck in making webtop work.
Fastboot erase webtop, then flash 2.3.6 fixed webtop. You will find it in fruitcake backup thread.

Thanks! So basically, I'm going to reinstall the webtop using the 2.3.6 version of webtop?
Which one of these should I download from this topic?
ATT 4.5.140 - 2.3.6
2.3.6 webtop
Sorry for asking this noob question. How do I reinstall the webtop? I'm not familiar with fastboot and flashing rom....
I'm doing my research now, but if someone can guide me would really appreciate it.
I can't seem to find a step by step guide on how to do this (from a noob perspective)..
I know this thing should not be done by noobs, but hey, everyone started as a noob..

Okay. Can you please tell me if this is a correct way to do it. Someone said that I can just install CWM and flash the webtop and it should work.
Steps that I plan to take:
1. Download fixed 236-webtop
2. Install Quickboot from android market (found a tutorial in youtube by PCTECHCrew name "How to Flash a ROM with Clockwork Mod (CWM)")
3. Once installed, select recovery
4. Then select Install zip from SD Card
5. Select the file "fixed 236-webtop.zip"
6. Wait till it finishes
7. Select Reboot system now
Do I miss something important?
If this is correct, do I still need to erase the webtop or by using quickboot that I installed I dont have to since quickboot will take care of that?
anyone can confirm if this steps are correct?

Hi there
If you have Nottachtrix on, then you should have CWR on the device already.
First, place the weptop.zip on your sd card.
Then switch off your device.
power it on, and hold the (volume down button) until fastboot appears.
Scroll down (using the volume button) until you see Android recovery press the vol up button.
Once there, it will say if you running CWR and what version.
If not, you will have to do that first.
(Dont worry, this will not harm your phone) Try it out first.... and let us know.

Cool, go to Android recovery and press vol up. You should then be in CWR....... It should say that on the top somewhere......
Then Wipe Cache Partition, go down to "Yes" and select, once done
Choose Install zip from SD Card
Choose .zip from SD card
Go to where you have placed webtop.zip and select it
Select yes
Once done, pres back
Then to reboot.
Test your Webtop, and let us know.....

[Q] Live With Walkman and Cyanogenmod 9

Hello there!
This question might have appeared alot but I'll try to be as short and accurate as possible on the following:
About two weeks ago, I decided to root my Sony Live With Walkman (4.0.4 Ice cream sandwich) and now I'm thinking of installing Cyanogenmod 9 stable release. But I'll leave this mod for the last part and let us focus on the rooting process I've done.
I've used the following tutorial: talk.sonymobileDOTcom/thread/41119?start=0&tstart=0
At first, I was unsuccesful but in the second try I had managed to root my device (Unlocked bootloader).
Being a bit tired over the official Sony ICS, I thought of putting Cyanogen to my device. This is where the things get confusing for me:
I've spotted multiple tutorials and each one is different and unclear to me. These two are the ones I'm thinking of as the most reliable sources:
- wiki.cyanogenmodDOTorg/wiki/Sony_Ericsson_Live_with_Walkman:_Full_Update_Guide
- technologic101.wordpressDOTcom/2012/03/12/tutorial-how-to-install-cyanogenmod-9-0-ics-on-your-se-xperia-2011-device/
So, I have Cyanogen9 coconut, drivers, fastboot, google apps and proper FTF file downloaded.
But what now? Which tutorial is better and accurate for my state of device? Am I risking a brick by doing this? What are the current downsides of Cyanogenmod9 for this device?
Please, write your opinions, explain or link me to the proper guides for my case. I am grateful for any kind of information you give me!
Thanks!

Is kernel the TFT file or the Cyanogenmod zip file (about 125MB)? And how do I flash this with Flashtool?
Boot.img inside the zip is the kernel. Extract and flash that file using fastboot. After flashing the kernel, start your phone and enter recovery. From recovery flash the zip files

Okay then you have done have of the work.
Now backup all your contacts, apps, sms's etc. Then power off your device and boot into fastboot mode. Then take the kernel from the CM9 zip and flash it. After that start your phone and just when the logo gets brighter press the volume down button with which you will boot into the CWM recovery. After that navigate to backup and restore and backup your rom. Then do a wipe data/factory reset ,then wipe chache and after that go to advanced and then wipe the Dalvik Cache. After that go to install zip from sd card and then choose from sd card. then navigate to your rom and flash it. After the flashing is done flash gapps and then reboot.
Note: To navigate in CWM use your volume keys and use the home button to select.
To enter Fastboot: Plug the usb cable side into the phone and while you are plugging it into the computer keep
your volume up key pressed.
To flash a kernel: Put the kernel you extracted from the zip into your fastboot folder. Then open a command
prompt in that particular directory ( in Windows 7 press shift in a blank place and right click).
Then enter this command fastboot flash boot boot.img(Your phone must be in fastboot
mode for this.)
In my signature, there's a guide how to install a custom rom/custom kernels, maybe this could help you!
I would use the cyanogenmod full update guide :good:
You don't need any ftf, you flash a custom rom with clockworkmod (cwm), but this should be explained in the guide

It depends. If you wanna flash any CM or AOKP roms you have to flash thier respective kernels. If you want to flash any stock based roms you can flash any ICS or GB kernel you want like Mesa, Panic kernel etc.
As for how to flash a kernel refer to my post on the page before.

That didn't work. When the Sony logo gets brighter, a blue LED lights up for that moment.
In cwm, selecting 'Flash ClockworkMod Recovery' opens up a box where my phone model is displayed. After that, it says it's unsupported and I can manually select either 2.x or 3.x+. I've selected the 3.x+ one and in the menu it says 'Current Recovery: ClockworkMod 5.X.X.X
Shall I try with 2.x? I have no clue here.

the reason you cant find your back up is because all aosp 4.2.2 roms create the "sdcard0" file path for your data, instead of 4.1.x having just the "sdcard" directory. TWRP wont let you navigate back to the original directory, and flashing a stock rom or backup wont fix it. you either have to manually delete the folder on the computer or on a file manager on the phone (but a computer is recomended).
now what type of factory reset did you do? the regular option in TWRP wipes /data, /cache, and /dalvik. is that the one?
i went into twrp and hit "format data" and it told me to type yes and then it formatted everything ...so afterwards it says superuser is not installed then swipe to install it...after i go to reboot system and it says No operating system installed

yea man that format data button wipes EVERYTHING. that button should not be pressed when regularly flashing different roms. it says that because there is no operating system on your phone anymore. and there probably isnt a backup either, as im not sure what partitions that wipes in detail. can you reboot into recovery by holding down the volume down and power button until the lights flash about 10 times? see if you still have a recovery
yeah i can get back into recovery..i just dont know how to get phone to boot up...yeah i dont know why i decided to format the data..haha friggen idiot i am
should i just download stock rom and plug my phone into the computer and transfer the file over? if so do i just put it in data/media folder?

do you know how to use ADB and fastboot commands? or does your storage come up when you plug it into a computer? it probably doesnt. you will have to sideload a stock rom
like cmd commands?...i know how to do them

you also need to make sure you have all the correct HTC drivers for the phone. if you could previously plug your phone in and navigate the internal storage, you should be fine.
1) download a plain, stock sense 4+ ROM and get it ready
2) boot the phone into recovery
3) plug the phone into the computer
4) launch the toolkit. you should see your device in the list at the top of the toolikit. if not hit option 20.Refresh toolkit. if it still doesnt show up, you might have bigger problems
5) select option 14 and follow the prompts
6) reboot the recovery
7) check and see if you can find the rom in TWRP and install
let me know. i'll be off XDA for an hour, in about 45 minutes. but if this doesnt work, pm your gmail address and get on hangouts
i dont think its locating my phone..i went to install drivers and it says access denied.
do i have to have the htc drivers installed for it to see my phone first?
Yes. Also adb and fastboot drivers, but I think they come loaded with that tool kit

is it suppose to recognize my phone under fastboot or adb? and when i install a rom do i need to put zip at the end like dlx_signed_2.06.zip?
is there something i have to do to get it to recognize my device...its not recognizing it
it says adb server is out of date..killing...daemon started successfully..list of devices attached and does not have mine

Lg g2 mini d620r bricked?

I have an lg d620r with unlocked bootloader and twrp 2.8.6.0. After update over wifi to lollipop stucks my device in the recovery twrp. I tried do flash a zip with the actually lollipop rom include root and su, it says flash succesful. The internal storage is ca 4gb free. I can't flash a other version of a recovery. I triede to flash via flashtool 2014 a kdz, but on my device says download mode but this graphik dont exist. And the flashtool says connect device. What can i do? If it not possible do repair, can i make a full brick to not boot in custom recovery for bringing to lg?
Ps: i can go thru the recovery with the filemanager on the system where the files are. Perhaps is one data missed. I can copy something?
Don't panic

It was same for me but if your recovery is the same (TWRP) so you can long press power off and volume up buttons wait for screen to go off and then on , release the keys and push them back again to enter LG's factory reset mode then press yes and yes again it will say factory reset procesing but it will then boot in to recovery . With TWRP you can connect phone to computer , download and put LG'S sock ROM or other like compatible CM12 .then do advanced wipe in wipe selection so it will delete everything even your rom (but not sd) and then flash your ROM cm12 or lg's stock .It worked for me so maby it work for you too
My device is off. I start with?

Its strange. If i flash the rom its says succesful but after lg logo goes in the recovery.
I have two options. repair my download mode to flash a kdz or brick full to no start in the twrp recovery and them send to lg
