Headphone jack not working - Atrix 4G Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Is there anything for it to work again? Thanks
Sent from my MB860 using Tapatalk

Turn your phone off, pull the battery and get a tooth pick or paper clip and stuck it in and see if there's any lint in there. I had a pretty big lint ball in there a while ago and it was blocking one of the connectors and wouldn't trigger the headphone port.
Might work good luck bro.

I doubt its an app, it could be the ROM if you flashed one right before it stopped working. I'm just suggesting a quick possibility that I've ran into. Hopefully its something that simple.

Try a different set of headphones too just for S&G before uninstalling apps, tearing apart the FW, ETC...
Reason why is that my SGS had a similar situation recently, and for me it was a matter of my earbuds being at fault. Tried a different pair, and things worked fine. Yet the original pair in question ended up working on my Atrix.
You may not have the same issue, but its still worth a shot to try out...

[Q] Best Game Controller

Hi all, I'm looking to get a game controller for my SGS3 that works with SNESOID, psx4droid, etc
I'm happy to buy a new controller, but the things I need are compatibility with those apps, wireless, and preferably a cradle for the phone to sit in (ie. so I can attach the phone to the controller, and use it as a handheld gaming system).
I've tried googling, and searching the forums, and there seems to be a number of options that meet one or two of those requirements, but not all three. Is there anything around that anyone knows of? Sixaxis, along with a PS3 controller would be great, but doesn't hold my phone for me. Other options seem to hold my phone, but don't support SNESOID, psxdroid etc.
What control systems are others using?
i use my ps3 paddle u have to root to use but well worth it i found that most stuff works with it have to config it in the setting

Cool. Is it thegameclip.com? gameclip.com is nothing, and thegameclip.com is blocked from my work connection and just comes up with jumble of characters on my phone.

Regarding the PS3 controller, I've read that to sync/connect the PS3 controller needs to have previously been connected to a PS3? I was going to buy a new dualshock controller, but don't have a PS3. Is this correct?
Is this only the case for wireless connection? As I'll probably get a gameklip with the cord built in (my gf won't root her phone, so this way she can use it too).
What are the disadvantages to the wired setup? Is it still compatible with all the emulator software?
no u download the app on ur phone like i said phone needs to be rooted then dwnload the blue tooth program on pc the follow whst it says to change the blue tooth addres
and thats it

No sound from rear speaker?

Anyone else ever have this problem. I just bought a Galaxy Note 2 off craigslist looks brand new called verizon said it has a clean ESN and has never been activated.
Audio works through ear speaker, headphones, but rear speaker isn't working at all. I did some research and sounds like there are a lot of different audio issues with this phone. The water damage indicators are fine to so I don't think it has water damage. There isn't a nick or scratch on the phone.
Still sounds like it's a defective device. I would take it to Verizon for warranty replacement, if not then Samsung. Or I've heard it's easy to replace yourself as a last resort

{Q}My GS3 become unstable and really hot....

Guys i have a serious problem with my phone....I have rooted and unrooted gs3....now its official and not rooted. The problem which i have is that the results of antutu are really unstable and becomes warm with two tests...I have got 16000 points and now i get 11000-13000(in antutu)....To reach 15000 again i have to let the phone get cold and start again the test....But this behavior is a little bit stange so i rely on your answers guys!
Have a nice day!
Had same problem on my S3 too. Im afraid you cant do anything about it. The heating problem should be gone in less than a week. After that your S3 should be back to normal.

I got 15000+ on mine. When your GS3 gets really hot it gets a lower score. The second time i run antutu i only got 13000. I think this problem is connected to the sudden death thing.

Well, samsung said it has something to do with their software and they have fixed it already. But the issue is still their. Lets just hope the upcoming 4.2.2 update for our GS3 will fix the issue, the update should arrive this may or june.

So you people are running stress tests on a stock rom, including a stock kernel? In that case please expect the phone to get hot, then slow down drastically when it does.
The stock kernel has conservative thermal throttling built in, nothing to do with SDS. It's behaving exactly as it should and I wouldn't advise trying to 'make it better'. Search here in Q&A for 'I killed my phone by overclocking'.
Some Gs3 units tend to heat up without even using it. Can you answer that?

Galaxy S4 Home Button making clicking noise

Just yesterday my home button started making a clicking sound. It has been dead silent and now it clicks kinda like a mouse click (not as loud) whenever I press it. If I mash hard on it it will be silent for a few minutes, but then it start clicking again. The Wife's phone is quiet.... both bought same day. Anyone else experience this? It is annoying me as it makes the phone sound cheap, and makes me feel it is going to fail on me based on almost the same scenario with my iPhone 4 that did fail after making a random noise one day.

Same thing here. Had the phone about a month and this started. Phone is rooted, so taking it back to Verizon is out. I just ordered a white home button online. Supposedly this phone is super easy to take apart and replace parts. We'll see.

Mine isn't rooted and I have the insurance + warranty on it. I may call and see what they say. A few guys around me in my group here at work don't have this issue. I've had this phone since launch day, FWIW.

I would definitely bring it back then. I just don't want to go through the hassle of unrooting and possibly getting an ME7 phone that does not have a working recovery as of yet.

Rooting is not important to me. My phone is a work device and security reasons we can't have a rooted phone (B.S. if you ask me), so I play along nicely and do all my updates and keep it unmodified (except for developer access).

I just called and ordered a replacement. I am not worried about refurbs as a lot of the times they are better than new in my experience in being in the industry for a few years. I pressed the button down and stuck the corner of a business card in and ran it around the circumference of the button with a little bit of the card going up under the case a bit. This seems to have resolved the issues.... but just in case i have an overnight-ed replacement coming tomorrow.
Never mind. It's back. Glad I ordered a replacement now.

I did this as well. Really wedged the business card on all sides and got the card up under the button. Hasn't clicked for over two weeks now. Something from my pocket must have gotten under there.

Don't worry, there is a fix!! I had this same problem on my S4 and I have horrible OCD so this was not kosher. I found that the cause for the clicking is the button sticking, causing it to click when you press on it. All you need to do is get an electronics cleaning cloth, a business card, and some hand sanitizer. This will save you from having to send the phone in for repair or get a refurbished device.
Put some hand sanitizer on the cleaning cloth. Not too much, just enough to make it damp.
Put the cloth over the business card
Use the combination of the cloth and the card and using a little pressure, stick it between the button and the case and go all the way around the button.
If you didn't fix it the first time around, repeat until you are able to press the button without a click.
Note -- If you are mental, and use too much hand sanitizer you will damage your phone. You just need the cloth to be damp. I use hand sanitizer because it dries extremely fast. I am NOT responsible if you screw up your phone.
Happy cleaning
I have this as well! I thought it was because I went to the beach and got a tiny grain of sand beneath the button but I guess it happens to everyone!

(Solved) Wifi speed problem after KitKat update

I am scratching my head of this one. Ever since I upgraded to KitKat my wifi speed has dropped to almost no existent. It was always rock solid on jellybean. Every other wireless device in my house is capable of normal download and upload speeds except my phone.

I think the big remaining issue here is that it likes to switch back to Power Save on its own.

Update. I think the solution is to leave gps on all the time. Then it won't switch back to Power Saving. Kitkat changed some things with location. On my Nexus 5, my gps was always on by default. Luckily it doesn't seem like there's extra battery drain to go with it like we have in previous Android versions.
