[Q] SalsaSence - CDMA Hero - Hero, G2 Touch Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Trying to find out if the SalsaSense 4.0 will work on a Sprint CDMA Hero?
I'm new to this whole process. Got a Sprint Hero that is already rooted with CM7 on it. Noticed that it was missing the GApps. I downloaded and installed from the CM7 site but it is still missing several GApps. But also wanted to try a sense based ROM and seen SalsaSense 4 in the Hero forum.
If SalsaSense 4.0 will not work on a Sprint CDMA Hero, what are some good Sense based Froyo Roms?

If you have have a cdma phone, why don't you post in the HTC hero cdma forum?
sent with love from me to you

looking for a STRIPPED ROM.

i have a verizon touch pro and normally have about 22 or les megs of ram free for programs. not sure if that is good or not, but coming from a blackberry 8830 where 15 was the min for a good smooth running tou i would like to get this number higher.
i am loooking for a ROM that is just the bare essentials, winmo 6.1, the phone and camera software, and what ever else it has to have for my phone to run. that way any thing else i want i can find a cab file and install myself.
i was referred to ppckitchen.com to get the kitchen, but cannot download and install the updates for it so i cant try to make my own rom.
any ideas? im sure someone else has already made this exact rom, but i simply cannot find it. not sure what to search for (trust me, i have been trying...)
thanks.
You have a CDMA device. Every ROM in this thread is for GSM. Don't flash any of these to your phone. For CDMA... check out the Raphael CDMA forum or www.ppcgeeks.com.

Since you're located in Sweden and T7272 is the HTC Touch Pro European version. It is a GSM device.
You should also see a SIM card slot when you remove the battery and the cover.

Oh, so thats how it goes, eh?
Is the SIM card the only major difference between GSM phones and CDMA ones?
I'm learning every minute here...
Thanks for the quick reply!
For CDMA, I would recommand Scottcrosler's rom kitchen, he has it for both Sprint and Verizon's variation. My friend who has Verizon uses Scott's rom and it is incredibly speedy, and there are definitely more ram available with programs running (I think my friend's phone has around 50mb or so after manila loaded). Plus with the kitchen, you would be able to pick and choose the programs to your EXACT liking.

Will anyone post/make an updated 2.5 rom?

After seeing all of the commotion about the tf3d 2.5 roms I was wondering if anyone is working on a CDMA rom? I see there is a updated GSM rom but I was just wondering if there is one for us?
Yes there are roms on the way.
Something special is coming
do you mean Manilla 2.1? or is there something else? Maybe I'm out of touch.
edit: yup, out of touch.. just looked it up.. 2.5 looks pretty slick!

Although that rom works ok, it has not been updated in a while. I doubt it is on par with the CM-Xor MM Pro rom that is updated for gsm phones.
This ROM has updated manila 2.5 but it is GSM only. Does anyone know how to make it a CDMA ROM???

The biggest problems they are having right now is getting the drivers for the CDMA to work with the GSM ROM. there is a 1918 build that is 100% for the VGA, now they just need to finish some tweaks on it. Especially with the contacts screen and landscape. Those are the two big problem areas right now.

[Q] Quick Question about 4G on custom roms.

Do most custom roms have 4G enabled? I think some of them don't work with 4G which will ruin my EVO 3D experience. I haven't rooted in a while ever since last year for my EVO 4G.
Just rooted 1.50 hBOOT and looking for a nice rom with 4G enabled.

All the sense ROMs have it, except maybe the sense 3.5 ones, none of the aosp based ROMs have it, like miui and cm7. Best bet is read the OP of the ROM, it will say whether 4g works.
thanks for quick reply. I just installed evozone's but 4G doesn't seem to work. I searched the first few 7-8 pages and nothing to reference 4G .
any suggestions would be appreciated too.
4g should definitely work on that ROM, did you do a full wipe before flashing, did you flash a different kernel afterwards?
No 4G

Cursed Dragon has 4G though but missing sense.
Huh...well I remembered it was working when I ran that ROM before... I'd still suggest just flashing something else, if 4g isn't working, it should be listed in the OP.
There is always a possibility you had a,bad download or a bad flash, I always start from fresh if something isn't working properly.
Redownload it and all...
I've read a lot of the rom forum posts, and most problems are related to a bad flash/dl.

Updated Radio - slow 3G ?

I s-offed my device and updated the radio firmware as all the ics roms state that you should flash that first for the roms to be able to work.
So I did...everything works, except the fact that I find my internet speed to be quite slow.
Twitter and Facebook take drastically longer to load and browsing websites is also not as fast as I am used to.
The roms I tested are
1 virtuous shooter
2 nonSense
3 KingCobra ICS
I have a gsm version phone and I am wondering if others have the same findings?
Sent from my HTC EVO 3D X515m using xda premium
I know on the CDMA versions when the VM version of ICS leaked people had to flash the native VM (Virgin Mobile)firmware in order to rum the ROM. Since then there have been complaints and solutions to the 4g and 3g speed drops. I would fish through the threads and check to see if their solutions are universal.

[Q] Asia WWE RUU for Rhyme on VZW

Will it work, I am currently downloading the RUU from the HTC site. I'm not too sharp on GSM vs CDMA ROMs, even more so, the substructure of android and how it works along with the radio. I haven't been able to find any other legitimate links to ICS for this phone and I would like to run ICS. There is a thread on here about it, but the link to the ROM only downloads partially and its pretty aggrivating. Thank you.
Yeah I would like to know the same thing. I DID run across something earlier saying that ICS was coming to Rhyme sometime in July-Aug
