[Q] Phone is not charging good - XPERIA X10 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi,
The past few days my X10 is not charging very well.. It turns to 100% and if I look to it the next morning it is about 15%. And now it doesn't charge to 100%. It's very annoying now.
What can I do?

Bro! i think its a battery problem - if your battery level is let say 15% (or in status red) try this, take out the battery plug your x10 to the charger (while battery is taken out) and then while you have your x10 plugged in to the charger press and hold the power/sleep button youll feel it vibrate after the vibration put the battery back in, then your phone will boot up (if it did not boot up just turn it on your self) if your battery is faulty you should see the battery in 75-90% if this is the case you need to replace your battery it happend to me 2 weeks ago im experiencing reboots while using the phone with charger but then i noticed the battery life is so short like literaly if im at 100 then after playing 1 single game (angrybirds) for10mins on it it'll drop immediately to 50.

[Q] Battery life problems

Anyone getting really bad battery life? Last night my battery was at 90% and when I woke it it was around 50%. I know I had wifi and a mail app on but isnt that kind of extreme? when I was walking to school I also listened to music how around 25mins, then used task killer. By the time 3 oclock rolled around my phone was dead.
My phones is only 2 weeks old could this be a battery defect or software issues? (Ive frequently use advanced task killer)
I'm on rcmix 2.1 btw
Do you put your phone on and off charge a lot without letting it get to 100%?
I was charging my phone almost every day but am now getting min 48 hours.
It is long winded, and shouldn't need doing regularly as long as you start letting it charge to MAX capacity from now on.
1. Plug phone in. Through mains, not USB to PC/laptop. Let phone charge to full. Not just when the green light goes on,.. it should say charged (it does on FroydVillain anyway).
2. Turn phone off. Now red light will show again, could be for a few seconds, could be 1 - 2 minutes. Wait till Green light shows again.
3. Pull charger out. Restart phone. Let it fully start up.
4. Turn it off again.
5. Plug in charger, wait till green light shows again.
Finally finished. Restart phone, and remember to fully charge all the time. And try not to let it go flat, not good apparently.

[Q] Xperia Ray off at 28%?

Hello people, I have a strange problem, I have less than two months with my SE Xperia Ray, and always loaded with original charger , but about two weeks ago or something but the phone whenever it reaches 28% of battery status and jumps to 0% and off. the battery is completely discharged. Sometimes I'd see battery calibrator used but still the same, any suggestions you can give me if they had a case like this? thank you very much
Do calibration! Let your battery became absolute empty and phone will turning off automatically. Then connect the charger (!just charger, do not turn on the phone!). When batery turns full disconnect the charger, eject the battery for 5 minutes, then take it back and connect the charger again. Then it became full enter recovery => advanced => Wipe Battery Stats, then restart your phone and when your home screen appers disconnect the charger. Let your battery became empty to the end (!do not restart or turn off during this period!) then charge as always

sgs2 battery problem

It shows me that the battery is 100% i open youtube watch about 2 minutes of videos and the phone turns off. I start it again and right after the boot image it turns off again. I plug in the charger , i turn on the phone , it shows 80%+ battery . If i plug out the cherger the phone turns off.
It's an software problem or the battery is gone?
battery could be bad.
What ROM are you on again?

Stock ICS
hum....Let it drain till it's off, charge it full. After it gets to 100% remove the battery for like 2 min (make it 100 sec) and reinsert it.
See if it happens again, in the meantime ask someone who has an I9100 to lend you his/her battery for 15 min.

This happens to my sister's phone. I also have an sgs2 and when she gave me her battery it did the same. I think it's the battery. It's gone
buy a new battery or change kernel

Z2 Battery will not charge to 100 %

Hi there anyone have any ideas been using my Z2 since last Friday and yesterday for some reason the device will not charge to 100 % only goes up to 96%
I have tried a different charger and still get the same problem , Also downloaded Sony pc companion software and run the repair tool to see if it resolves the issue and still same problem
Try discharge battery to 1-2% (some advise even till auto-off device) and then fully charge with bundled charger.
Mine does the same thing, don't worry.
The reason this happens is that once your battery is at 100%, it stops charging automatically, and the device waits for it to get down to 99% before starting to charge again.
Is it possible that you just keep catching it at 99%?
Mine will charge about 1% every four minutes until it hits 99%. Then that last one percent takes a couple of hours. This is according to the power/percent list in gsam. It's done it consistently from day 2. Day 1 it failed to charge beyond 80% overnight.

thanks for your help I will try a full discharge and then try charging it and see how it goes
Finally battery is flat the phone turned off , charging it now with the sony charger which came with the z2 , will let you know what happens
I did a live chat with sony and they say the device is faulty and needs to be repaired
I have rang my network provider and they will send me a new z2
96% charge and wont charge no more!!
would really like to understand what is the solution to the problem.
This is really annoying . Please need all possible inputs.
Do you think its a product issue and needs to be replaced with a new piece.
Mine charges, but...
My Z2 will charge to 100%, but after it gets to 95% the screen turns on, and stays on.
If I push the power button on the phone to turn the screen off, the screen will turn off for between 0.5-1.5 seconds, and then turn itself back on.
I have gone through quite a few settings on my phone and can't find anything that might affect this other than perhaps "Night Mode" - which I have disabled.
Please help, my provider refuses to replace my phone even though I got it brand new from them and it's only 21 days old... I do love the phone, I just hate this issue - I can't leave it charging over night, or run the risk of having the phone over heat (it happened once, this is how I first found out about the problem, I had to leave the phone off with a fan on it for a good hour before it was cool to the touch again.)
@The Midnighter
I think you have a faulty unit, mine (2nd one) doesn't even overheat unless I have severe CPU/GPU intensive apps running. Never had a charging problem either... Get it replaced mate
I always charge the phone power off, when it is full charged I get the vibra notification and the phone is 100%.

I forgot to mention - you reminded me.
When I leave my phone off and plugged in, it will charge to 100% - however I have to do a HARD RESET every time I go to turn my phone back on, after turning it off. (Holding power and volume up) or it sticks on the "SONY" screen and will not advance.
Since xperia S there is a feature which helps battery keeping good condition
Its charge to 100% and turns charging off till 95%
Its all becouse integrated battery
This is not a bug or problem

It is indeed a problem, because the screen is staying on and causing my phone to over heat - it once over heated so badly because of this I had to leave the phone off for a very long time.
The phone doesnt charge at 100% and the magnetic charger not work

I have the exact problem. The phone work ok for a few days and then stop charging at 92% and the screen stay on. I plug the charger in the night and in the morning was only at 92% and hot, very hot.
A few days ago I bought a dock charger and an usb cable to plug in the magnetic lateral charging port. And with both chargers the phone shows the charge icon for a second and desapear for another second and repeat the loop.
I try everything in the software level. Restore the firmware using pccompanion and also flash the lollipop firmaware but the problem persist. Just not tried delete the battery stats because my phone is not rooted yet.

Did u manage to fix the problem? Or did anyone here manage to fix the battery charging issue? Mine charges to 78%, then sometime 85% then hard-reset - 91%. Cant charge anything above that! : <
There's no real fix, you can only hope a rollback to KitKat might help. See this lengthy forum post on the sony forums:
https://talk.sonymobile.com/t5/Xperia-Z2/Lollipop-charging-bug/td-p/965384
Spanning from april until right now...
Mine only gets to 70-80% on an overnight charge.
Mine charges and discharges constantly, I try change the cable, the AC adapter, the usb on my computer, the micro usb port to magnetic... Always is the same.. and another times charges too good.
Some times charge to 99% and discharge to 98%.. so I disconnect and connect again and charges to 100%
Maybe it's a Lollipop .232 problem in some devices?
Hi! Same problem here, sometimes my phone doesn't charge to 100% and I have to unplug the charger and plug it in again to get 100%. I think it's pretty common, but if your phone only charges till a low percentages and just doesn't charge further, it might be so that the phone's afflicted with the Lollipop charging bug. We can only wait for Marshmallow then

Xperia P battery level jumps high from low.

I have a Sony Xperia P. Few days ago i changed my old battery to a new one, after that my battery level jumps high dramatically . If i remove the charger when the battery level at 49% and after like 10 minutes it automatically jumps high (90%). Every time this is happening and i did root, repair the software and factory reset the phone and problem is same. Anyone faced the same or have any idea about this issue?
I'm pretty sure this is gonna be pretty quick end of your battery. I don't really know anything about its lifespan, but I have pretty similar problem sometimes.
My idea? Try to discharge your battery to its flat end. Even try to turn discharged phone again and again - until it won't turn on again. Then plug your charger and charge your phone to full once it being turned off. When LED will turn green and battery indicator will show it is full - just power on the phone with charger still plugged in. Let it settle, then reboot. (charger still plugged...). See if anything changed. Try to discharge and charge battery in various ways - once slower, once faster. This will give some more info about your battery life.
Btw. is this battery Sony genuine?
Short answer: Your battery is dying, get a new one.
