Not recommended, there are international roms you know ..

Hi,I want to buy a motorola atrix 4G (AT&T Code Unlocked) from dubai. I wanna know that if I unlock it with code ( not unlock factory ) what problems I may have with it ?? Also if I install rom on it , like if I install the official Gingerbread from moto , shuold i buy another unlock code , again ? And plz tell me a way to input the unlock code ( i saw two ways ) ... Hey as far as I know swapping out roms on an android device plays no effect on the sim making it re-lock. When I had an unlocked G2x i was swapping out roms all day and never had to buy another code or anything.

Rooting isn't a problem. You'll need to unlock that bootloader in order to install custom roms though..

Thanks lot for replying. May I install any stock rom Gingerbread (not my own carrier specific one witch is just 2.2!) only by rooting?
All those gingerbread roms are custom roms so no there either I think..
No if your phone isnt unlocked bootloader you can only install your providers ROMs

This is a extremely noob question so all the help will be appreciated. I bought a second hand Atrix. I am not sure if its 4G or simple.
Can any1 tell me which is the most stable ROM out there for Atrix (incl. Finger Print Reader Driver , as that's a must). And a step by step guide to flashing it coz i only used to S2 (my other phone.)
Just for info this is T-Mobile MB860, firmware 2.2.2. If there is anything such as locked this isn't coz i am using it in another country.

i can get hard briked if its not fit to this Atrix ?
New to this forum and rooting but I've owned an Atrix for a long time now. Mine has 2.3.6 loaded and nd I don't need help with rooting; I got that far and verified with an app that I indeed have root access.
My intent is to get the phone unlocked. What i found here nd other forums is the procedure for unlocking the 2.3.4 version and they say the process for 2.3.6 is different. I am very afraid of bricking my device so need help in this from anyone who has unlocked after upgrading to 2.3.6 and tried out custom roms. Some relevant Useful links also welcomed.
I am using an At&T version of Atrix bought in the US, but using in India as it is carrier unlocked to be used with any sim.
