[Q] LG optimus V black screen - Optimus One, P500, V General

Hi,
I need some help, i flashed my optimus v to rodimus just now with ROMTOOLS, but it went to a black screen after a LG logo, i can go to recovery and I did flash the stock rom but the same thing happened, I also tried to change the bootanimation thinking that was the problem but it didnt fix it.
Oh and I reinstalled the stock rom this way:
recovery menu->install zip from sdcard->choose zip from sdcard->ROM.zip
I hope im doing it right,
Thanks!

Can someone please help, i really need to do this, help is appreciated!

There's a thread in here about that. I believe its something to do with a kernel issue between newer and older V's. Did you do a nandroid backup before you flashed? If so you should be fine

since u already have recovery installed just download the clockowrk mod 3.1.0.0 from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1065197 |transfer the file to ur sd card and flash the zip from recovery reboot |Done! u have the latest recovery installed
as far as rom is concerned cm7 is all time favorite for most
here is the installatin procedure http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1038338 using clockwork whch wrk the best njoy just avoid the sd partition step if u dont want a2sd stuff or read the specific rom installation instruction which requires parttioning sd card, cm7 can be installed without partitioning ur sd

No need to wipe anything.
Backups are always handy. But be aware that backup done by amonra or cwm are not compatible to each other. That means backup taken by any recovery will only be restored with same recovery.

i tried to flash new recovery but getting this error e:wrong digest:recovery image
e:verification failed
installation aborted.
what i did wrong?
You have to toggle signature verification off from recovery. I hope u have that on thunderg. The zip is not signed.

That zip file is for amonra recovery which doesn't have an option for formatting system. In cwm recovery, you have the format system option.
Flashing doesn't lead to bricking normally.
And all custom roms are always rooted.

I'm sorry if I'm wrong, because I've never used cm7. But from some screenshots I've seen it seems that you can change what icons appear in the notification area. I'm not sure though.

hmmm have to play more with it i guess.... hope smone will help me....
go to cyanogenmod settings and there is something like interface (i don't know exactly, because i don't have it in phone right now), but you can certainly change icons in the notification area.
Settings>CM Settings>Interface>Notification Power Widget>Many options>Enjoy.
thanks solved the network issue.. but as i tried to open the market it just popup for a second and close .. so unable to download anything from market...btw is it ok to flash franco.kernel v14 with cm7 .. do i need to wipe anything before flashing?
no. I just flashed. you can wipe cache+dalvik if you want. check for two files mentioned in franco's thread. if you have them, You HAVE to delete them before flashing. if you dont, just flash. you need setCPU to change the CPU freq coz CM OC screen does not display at the moment. battery and smoothness is great.

I flashed Franco kernel too, half an hour before. But I didn't check for those two files. But the phone is functioning fine.
Are those two files to be deleted are meant for everyone or for those who have previously flashed Franco kernel?

Flashing, updating, and roms

ok so I'm kinda new to all this. I have the dark side rom flashed with clockwork mod recovery and I've heard of a new update and I was wondering about if I did an OTA update would I get bricked? Also if I try to flash another rom it gets stuck at the boot logo. Am I doing something wrong? Also I would kind if like a non-ginger like rom if anyone knows of any.
Thanks

Avoid OTA updates, the devs will have the updated build available quickly.
Try using romracer's recovery.

[Q] reflashing a rom on the t-mobile hd2

Hi guys, I was wondering if I could get some help.
Sorry I am a NOOB..
I currently have pongster's Hyperdroid GBX v12 rom installed on my T-mobile HTC HD2 and since I am running into some issues like force closes and being unable to change the LCD density through "build.prop" as it is a read only file, I was wondering if I could reflash the same rom over the new one.
In advanced, Thank you!!!
Of course u can do this
But remember back up your dataaa!!!!
Go to samfirware.com check your phone and chose a firmware
Download Odin Multidownloader and reflash the stock rom
If you get a bootloop after flashing go to the recovery mode and whipe data/cash
then restart the phone
Hope u get ur phone back to life soon my friend
If you dont know about the flashing procedure and if odin is a unknown word for u u should inform urselfe before
here in xda youll find a tutorial for sure
Thanks bro! I got a rom flashed already now.... So happy!

[Q] CM7 & ICS Screen Boot Glitche

Hello all, i just rooted my nook tablet (8gb) and flashed cm7 and ics nightly and both are giving me a wierd boot glitche, it dosent freeze on boot but it hangs up and the screen jumps all over the place, so if anyone can help that would be great!
Sent from my new LG Optimus Elite
Maybe re-flashing the ROM could help? Did this start after you did something on your Nook?
I don't believe you can flash CM7 to the 8GB Nook. It has to run from SD.
Also did you build the nightly into a ROM?
Bill
This started when I flashed cm7, now cm9 does it, It lags like that and stays there
I downloaded Cm9 0.0.4

Thanks for that link and info, I tried it and still dissent work, I think my tablet is bricked (not because of Cm9) I made a backup and I flashed it back and it just sits at the N screen, I try cm7 and that only works when the tablet is plugged to the computer...I'm having bad luck with this

if your partitions are still okay... i would flash ( all the way back... ) to stock as a beginning point.
to be honest, i think my tablet is semi bricked. It will run cm7 on sd only when a usb or charger is pluged in, i trie restoring my stock backup in cwm and nothing happens...like its bricked

[Q] Which version of CWM for LG Phoenix p505?

I've got an LG Phoenix p505 with .35 kernel. I rooted it using SuperOneClock. I then installed clockworkmod rom manager from google play and selected LG Optimus One for my version. When I started CWM recovery I got nothing but a blank screen. I then read where I might have to use the LG Optimus One (old bb) even with the .35 kernel so I went ahead and installed that version. When I started up CMW this time it worked although the colors were off. I went ahead and flashed a rom but when the Phoenix started up the color were still off and I had to reflash my backup of the stock rom. Does anybody know what I might be doing wrong or what is causing these problems? What is the correct version of CWM recovery to use or perhaps should I use something different?

This forum http://goo.gl/xpxUG is geared towards lg phoenix and lg thrive (p505 and p506). You need this kernel after flashing p500 roms. http://forums.androidcentral.com/t-...s-caf-based-2-6-35-kernel-ics-based-roms.html
The colors are off because the CWM you are using isn't made for your phone, its not an issue but in the first link I posted is cwm designed to work for your device. The colors are off in the rom because you haven't flashed the kernel after the rom.
Thanks for the info.
The lg p500 old bb
That is the one u need if ur on old bb (group 2.2)
If u on new Bob (gb 2.3) then get lg p500 new bb

The colors are off in recovery & in ROM for different reasons. The recovery has its own built-in display driver, so you need to flash a recovery made for the P505 (or you can just live with it). When you boot into your ROM, the display drivers are in the kernel. If you flash a P500 ROM, you must follow it with an appropriate P505 kernel to fix the video issue (device is fully functional, but highly impractical to use otherwise).

dude, I know colors r off, it doesn't matter, read the root guide here

Colors r supposed to be off a bit cause of baseband

Baseband has nothing to do with colors. Baseband interfaces with the cellular radio, while the color issue is due to using the wrong display driver.

OK, kernel=baseband
If u simply change the kernel to a .35 colors r normal yes. But...but cwm recovery colors r still skewed. Bsides does anyone bother with the cwm recovery if all u need is that it works.

Recoveries use a different Kernel. Integrated into the recovery itself
