Port the Stylus APK and Keyboard function - HTC Flyer, EVO View 4G

Has anyone developed a way to Port the Stylus APK and Keyboard function?
I would think if you get the standard blue tooth stylus should be adaptable to work on any tablet?

The stylus is not Bluetooth. The Flyer has a separate hardware digitizer for the stylus. So porting the software would not be enough to enable functionality on other tablets.

porting
There has to be away port the drivers or apks over from the htc flyer to other devices. Im reselling my gslate and buying a flyer. I will work on the porting part when i free up some time from work

not possible... its a hardware limitation not software...

It's not the software buddy, the screen is not capacitive! It's a N-trig active digitizer. The pen is not Bluetooth. It's the same as the HP touchsmart computers.
Physically Impossible!
Just get a flyer, its only 300... Which, looking at what the tablet can do, is a steal!
Hope that helps

The screen is capacitive. Everything else you said is true. The flyer is like a mini Dell xt2. I've been meaning to try to xt2 stylus on the flyer to see if it's the same ntrig digitizer that's present in the dell. No battery in that stylus though... Not sure why it's needed here.

Hero board in a G1 housing?

Anyone know if you can put the motherboard and guts of a hero in a G1 housing giving you the ability to use the physical keyboard of the g1 with the better memory ect of the hero?
it would get messy, the screens are a different size, ahah and if you kept the g1's screen it would take alot of programming i think to get it to work
i wouldnt say its impossible, but arnt there ways of using bluetooth keyboards?
id suggest figuring that out!
Bluetooth keyboards are certainly an option. There are two commercial apps in the market which support them. One for SPP & one for HID (the two BT profiles, serial port profile & human interface device, which BT keyboards can use), so most keyboards should work with one or the other. As it happens, I'm waiting for delivery of a Freedom Pro, from Handtec, atm.
It's probably not actually impossible, but if you had to ask then it's not something you could do.
I'd say it's practically impossible in that no one would ever do it.
OT: The poster above mentioned 2 apps for using a BT keyboard.. what are they and do either support the original old freedom BT kb?
It's possible, but as far as I'm aware you'd need to write new drivers for communicating with the physical keyboard, and the older screen/buttons, etc.

BlueInput & KeyPro. Can't get either to work with the Freedom Pro on a 1.5 gsm Hero (they support many phones running 1.5). Hero seems to be lacking something under 1.5 that most other devices have.

sketchbook pro for android 3.0

hi
autodesk apparently just released sketchbook pro for android 3.0
so not yet available for the flyer i guess
but would really love to try it out on the flyer
i guess we will have to wait and see ...
kind regards

...But that doesn't mean it's going to work with the pen...Because they would need to have had access to the pen SDK from HTC.
Did they say it would work with HTC's pen? Did they get early access or something?
It would make my day if this application worked with the pen...
That was the number one reason i bought the Flyer and we still can't use the pen with the drawing apps.
I am waiting patiently...
The Sketchbook blog mentions that the honeycomb version will support devices with pressure sensitivity, so hopefully that means they were able to get the SDK early, or had n-trig in the loop somehow.
Here's hoping anyway!
Was wondering if this App can be ported into our Flyer? Would be a quick solution if someone knew how to make this happen, until someone releases an app or we get the update. Looking at the Lenovo Pad, it looks like it can work. Just don't know how difficult the whole process is.

[Q]Magic trackpad and Flyer

Hello,
Does anyone have tested the magic trackpad with the HTC flyer. I know it works with Xoom or Galaxy Tab. With different tablet the apple trackpad works differently, it is why I ask you for the Flyer.
If someone has the flyer and a magic trackpad, can he just test it and tell us how it works?
Thx,
I finally bought one. I have juste test it. It works well. We can only use single touch.
A mouse pointer is on the screen. With the keyboard the HTC flyer become a perfect computer.
I hope this can help someone else.

S-Pen compatible with ThinkPad Tablets

Just thought I'd share:
I was on location with a client, needed to markup a live document on my ThinkPad tablet and realized I forgot my stylus. Just for kicks, I pulled out my s-pen -- and it works perfectly -- even the 'right click' button.
I assume the reverse is true (lenovo stylus on the Note), but haven't tested yet.
Interesting, I'll have to try Lenovo>Note tonight.
The reverse is also true (just tried it).
I don't know if I'll actually use it much, but it's still cool to have the option of using a larger pen.
it should work with any waycom digitizer enabled device (both ways)
Cheers
BR
For some reason my Wacom pen won't work with the note.

The generation may have some effect on compatibility. I'm using a model from a few years back - x200 tablet.
I believe they use a similar digitizer that your typical Wacom-based Tablet PC uses.
So far the styluses from my ThinkPad X61T/X41T, HP TC1100, Fujitsu ST5112, Toshiba Tecra M7 all work on my Note and vice versa.
While the stylus from my Wacom Bamboo and Wacom Intuos4 do NOT work since they use a completely different digitizer.

If i recall the digitizers used in the Bamboo and similar are more like what what was used in the HTC Flyer (I had ome until the Backlight went out) The common waycom pens do not work on the Flyer and similar devices nor will their pens work with the Note.
cheers

thanks for the neat trick
Yeah I have the bamboo. So that's why?

Nah the HTC Flyer uses an N-Trig digitizer, completely different company.
I just tried it with my HP elitebook 2740p and it works great. it has a faux eraser on the end of it so I tried it out, guess what, it works as an eraser on the note.

Looks very interesting, no mattet what anyone here says, would recommend email or call to them. This way if issue have valid return reason, email best for tracking. If someone confirms to work, does not mean all features tested. Looking more at this when have more time, thank you for the post.

the n-trig pen is a technology vendors can implement, and only htc flyer and lenovo thinktablet got n-trig support. as the display require to support active pen-displays.
you will need to wait for the nextgen HTC Quattro which were planned to have the n-trig support at well but as 10.1" tablet with tegra3. its not out and might be dropped as well.
but the technology is only on a few tablets for now.
Samsung uses a different pen technology, so its not used with samsung products at all.
