even I can understand what the instruction says

I think this Guy is on to something. This could save a lot of phones from bricked state. I am going to look into this a bit more but to be honest. I don't know what the hell he was going on about saying he was using this on a non bricked phone so only he and God knows what he was trying to fix.
Sent from my X10i using xda premium

hey again this might be not 100% accurate info but when my x10 was at the verge of dying from "motherboard" i had nonstop vibration or green led blink & vibration. i think you might have f*** up your motherboard. cause when i took it into a repair shop with the symptoms you are explaing seem similar..as far as reviving your x10 from dead or brick then its software "blocks" related not hardware issue. but if you can't get display and all id suggest to get it checked near a service repair shop..

i think he is trying to flash a bricked x10 back to life. this might be another case of "motherboard problem".
can you post more description if your phone is booting up at all? what does it do when you are trying to power it on?

why you re-aliven dead thread for??

BINGO ! You're right, friend. At last, someone who can really knows what this man doing...
Let me explain to you all that this was a X10 Xperia Resurrection progress using an advance software tool box called RIFF - JTAG.
This guy is trying to revive his bricked phone although he doesn't admit it was bricked. A bricked phone - means phone's dead, with black screen and vibrates.
But until now, Jul of 2012, there's non of the software tool can solve this problem in most cases. The only way is to replace CPU, central processing unit of the X10 Xperia. That's the successful solution I only heard of.

when i first saw the Jtag program, my thought run to the xbox 360, what the hell, the worst stage my x10 came through was damaged bootloader when i first try to unlock it, reflash the stock rom using Flashtool solve the problem, i dont know if this guy's up to something but this might looks like serious stuff, if he cant even start up the phone screen and it vibrate like hell, then the problem is with the hardware, no software can solve that so far.
bid him regard and have fun with the new paperweight

sounds to me like they have used this JTAG to unlock the phone and ended up corrupting the kernel. Have you (the OP) tried to just repair the phone using seus? or is it actually hardware related? The X10 is hard to brick, I have never heard of anyone using JTAG on x10 before
Also, this post belongs in the general section not the development section, please be aware of this in the future as the Development forum sometimes gets cluttered with noob posts and its very frustrating at times to get information.

who the hell bumped this f#$%ing old thread up ???

This does not work for a "bricked" Atrix. If the Atrix is "bricked" then USB will not recognize it. That has been my conundrum since the beginning. My Atrix is bricked because I tried to go back to Froyo from Gingerbread. Apparently there is no recovering from that.

That looks like a hard brick! Anyone please correct me if I am wrong, but there is no way of fixing that yourself. Sending to moto us is your best option if you want it fixed

What you don't do is create another thread basically asking the same thing in another forum. Merging this thread with the one in Q/A. I feel sorry for your brick, so no infraction given, as I understand one can get desperate when dealing with a hard brick, however, it is what it is and nothing can get done....
Thanks guys, I did hard rest but the phone not showing on windows pc.
maybe the factory cable be an option but I heard we need to have sbf files!?
and also, I'm still under warranty can I ship the phone from Aus to US to get it fixed? how??
Thanks again
Hi Matthew
Seeing u as a same local. Have u think of going up to 2.3.4?
Maybe by flashing using sbf files? Then....
Cos I'm thinking of getting a atrix.
Bored by the gs2.
i can get to the nvflash recovery mode tho, but what that can do?

how about this :
briefmobile.com/motorola-atrix-4g-system-boot-file-sbf-leaked
Nah. sbf files are for RSD, nvflash (nVidia flash) require a different file and app to flash
argh...
So we just have to wait....
I've heard about some other hardwares that can be plugged into the bricked device and make it hard reset/factory reset?any ideas?
I have the same problem here... :S

Last attempt get first X10 working

Hi Guys,
I making a last attempt to get an old X10 working before I strip it for parts. If anybody has any new ideas, I'll give them a try otherwise I'm going to dismantle it to use the case and screen to pretty up my working X10 (dents and scratches).
History:
About a year ago, it started acting up and overheating on occasion and even at times it wouldn't charge.
After a couple weeks of this, one day it started freezing up on me. After I powered down it wouldn't restart. Dealing with tech support I tried using PC Companion and SEUS to try and repair the phone but flashing would always abort.
I've tried various versions of Flashtool and SEUS as they have been released and still haven't been able to get the phone to boot. PC Companion and SEUS always error out when trying to flash and Flashtool even though it completes will give a yellow triangle with exclamation point in it.
The one exceptions is when I flashed the newest X10a firmware with flashtool but unchecked the wipe userdata box. When I do this the phone will actually boot past the Sony Ericsson screen and perform the boot animation but... This is where it get's stuck and just loops the boot animation over every couple of minutes.
The only other piece of information that I can provide is that even though Flashtool will report a successful flash the complete firmware package including userdata, I believe that userdata is failing because of a timeout. Flashtool will sit on flashing userdata for about 5 minutes before completing.
after you flash the new x10 firmware you need to flash the new kernel and radio too!
that should stop the boot loop and maybe get it running again
you can find the radio and kernel ftf in the dev forum

When you flash the full ftf package with flashtool, the baseband (radio) and kernel are included. But..... Just in case I did try to flash the .71 package but it didn't make any difference.

Yep, SEUS just fails to complete flashing the phone, I've just about given up on it. Last thing I'm going to try tonight is reseating all the modules inside it. Who knows, Maybe I'll do a tear down post while I'm at it. At the very least I'll have a collection of spare parts for my working X10

Unlocking Bootloader Restrictions

I'm helping a friend of mine with his X10 Mini Pro. I know that specs-wise the phone is almost similar to the X8.
So I have a question. Besides from the SIM Unlock Certificate, is there anything that could prevent me from unlocking the bootloader? I'm asking because the X8 has the known date problem (11w29+).
As the guides are shared for both phones, I'm not completely sure if the restriction applies to both. From what I've seen this isn't the case, but no idiot proof: X8 = YES - X10 Mini = NO.

I'm not completely sure if the date-restrictions apply to the x10mini/pro as well, but the underlying hardware is roughly the same for all 2010 family Xperia phones, so if they changed something in there on the X8, chances are they were changed in all the other Xperias too.
Since it's your friends's phone, i wouldn't risk it, since you'll end up with a hard-brick if it goes wrong.

I open up a new thread for this. Sorry I didnt read it first, same question here.
They didnt actually warn us in BL unlocking threads if it is safe or not. Sigh.
EDIT1: I Fiddled abit in this phone, IDK if this is the confirmatory that were looking for, this is what i found:
BTW-Im on stock rom and stock kernel so i have this service mode or something like that
1. Enter *#*#7378423#*#* in the dialer then call
2. Go to Service info
3. Go to Configuration
4. At the lower most entry, there is something that says:
-Rooting Status:
Bootloader unlock allowed: Yes
Is this the answer that we need? or it is all in MFC date? my X10MP is 12w17.
EDIT2: I guess, I did answer my question, the confirmatory is this http://unlockbootloader.sonymobile.com/
The supporting details is EDIT1, thanks for nothing

First of all, What exactly do you mean by "changing your IMEI no" , Is that even possible???
Have you tried connecting it in fastboot mode by the use of hardware button i.e. by keeping the vol up key pressed down while connecting to the pc.
Flash a new kernel and a rom if anything else dowsnt work.
