[Q] Nandroid Backup to another 7510? - Galaxy Tab 10.1 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Greetings!
Anyone know of a good (or resonably good) reason that a nandroid backup from one 7510 can't be restored on another 7510 (assuming the hardware is the same)?
thanks!
sk?

Should be entirely possible.

Thanks!! + 10

I'm not so sure of this. Idk if this just applies to phones but in my expierence you will run into constant fcs. Each tab has its own serial number(etc) and they are normally backed up in your nandroid. Again I'm not 100% but that's just my 2cents
in paris

Yeah. Was wondering just that ^^^ . Don't know for sure if things are "tied" to serial numbers or other specific hardware....trying to decide whether to return my GT to Amazon due to the 'ol Newton ring thing...
thanks!!

I can't find battleheart on the market

I can't find battleheart on the market when I use my phone. Via market online, my device is grayed out. Is this just me, or are others experiencing this, too?
Has anybody experienced this problem or know of a fix?
I found a disclaimer stating this app will not download correctly on Galaxy S and HTC Desire handsets, at the moment. It's something to do with the fact that it downloads directly to the SD card due to it's size, coupled with the strange way Galaxy S handles memory partitions. Sorry.
Oww, thats too bad. Is there a way I can buy it and restore a titanium backup version of it from another device? It won't let me purchase it.

Maybe. I'm not sure how app/device authentication happens. Otherwise you could take any paid app and put it on multiple devices, which is stealing. I know you aren't but that limitation might stand in your way.

Email the developer of the app. Simple as that.
good day.
hate to revive an old thread, but for anyone else having this problem, try the amazon app store. for some reason the official google app store wouldn't let me buy this game with my samsung captivate, but the android store had no problems with it.

Just stay away from G model. You won't be getting much support for that model here.
About ROMs, there are plenty of good custom ROMs.

TomTom

So I read today that TomTom is finally available for "some Android devices". Bizzarrely (and somewhat predictably), it's not available for the highest-profile Android phone on the market (the S3). Why is it that this often seems to happen with new apps - i.e. the S3 (and previously S2) are rarely amongst the first devices to be supported? Are the underlying reasons usually technical, marketing-related, ...??
It might not be the answer you want, but TomTom is quite over-rated.
The google Maps + Navigation combo has become a very mature product and beats every single similar app I have tested.
Except for the curiosity factor, TomTom offers nothing over what we already have.
It's the lack of off-line routing (and re-routing) that detracts from Google Maps/Nav - especially when you're paying very expensive data roaming charges....
I don't see any TomTom app on market. Can you elaborate

I always though TOMTOM was the best, in the UK anyway. Google navigation is fine, but it is a real pain when you have no reception (driving round in a forest for 30 minutes). I thought I would buy it on another device and see what happens when I copy it over using Titanium backup. Trouble is I don't seem to have any compatible devices.
Maybe you should try Sygic: GPS Navigation
It supports offline maps too, and works best for me in my country,
And some excerpts from news online
"For its part, TomTom hasn't said why its application doesn't support devices with higher resolutions, but it did reassure users that it's "committed to supporting higher resolutions on an ongoing basis." It's not clear when that will happen, though."
Yeah Sygic is pretty dang good. It even used TomTom maps and traffic data.

Yep. Backing up via Titanium Backup and copying the .apk over, etc is a way of sideloading.

Yes! Exactly the same here, I don't understand why they don't release it for the S3 it seems to work perfectly.
Can this be done if not rooted?

I left it a while for a reply, but Im guessing that nobody is sure? The store says I can install it on my orange san francisco (which is rooted), could I get it from that onto my S3 (which is not rooted)?
Is anybody able to help/advise please?
TomTom South Africa works well...no problems...love the fact that the street names are actually read out
But it doesn't want to update...always fails to connect to TomTom servers...

Hi,
Are you still on stock ROM?
Have you rooted?
How much space do you have left on your internal storage?
Have you updated it?

Hi,
Look HERE
I suggest you go back to stock and see if that improves the speed of your phone.
Before that, backup all your stuff, because you should also factory reset.

you mean unroot right?
Don't unroot. Go into the android development and hacking forums and find a script to make your phone faster, and flash it in CWM recovery. If you can't do that, overclock your phone using the No Frills CPU Control app off the Play Store. Make sure both sliders are at the end and that your governer is Performance. Also, try out Auto Memory Optimizer, that's a good app for retaining your speed. And of course, always close apps when you aren't using them.

That's not how my friends S4 works, it is extremely responsive and fluid. Apps work without hiccups and even multi tasking is awesome. The first thing that came to my mind when you posted your phone's symptoms were, did you purchase it brand new from a shop? Is it on stock FM? Did you actually check it at the store before your purchased it?
Yours could be a FW or a HW problem. Is it possible to take the phone back to the store and have them fix/replace it before attempting software fixes?

[Q]Intermittent loud scratch noise during calls after Cyanogenmod 10 + Generic IMEI

Hello everyone, I hope you guys can shed some light on my problem, I would really appreciate it. I searched the forum and found a workaround for the IMEI problem that did not work for me. And I found nothing regarding the loud noise during calls. So I decided to post to get some help.
Problem 1
I have a Samsung Galaxy S GT-I9000B from Brazil unlocked from the store. Three days ago I decided to update my system (2.2) to the CM10.0.0 (4.1.2). After much sweat and hassle I discovered how do it properly with the right files. So, I flashed 2.3.3 and then CM10 and it seemed to work properly until I found out my IMEI had been corrupted. I tried the solution I found but it didn't work because on step #5 I don't find the file named ".nv_data", just "nv_data.bin.md5". I tried copying just the other but in the end it doesn't change my IMEI back. I still have a generic IMEI but it is not affecting the signal of my phone, I can still make and receive calls, but I would like to get it properly working. When I flash android 2.2 it restores my IMEI.
Problem 2
My other problem is that I keep getting these really loud and intermittent scratch noises during calls after flashing CM10. Right now I am using a dutch SIM for I live in the netherlands. Maybe that is important to mention. But I had been using android 2.2 here all along with no problems. After CM10 I get these sudden short bursts of noise during my calls. The other person can barely hear it but I hear it loudly. It's really annoying. I have no idea what is causing it or how I can fix it.
Can you guys help me out with this one?!
Thank you,
Henry
Why don't you try another rom and see if the issue persists?

Do you mean another version of the CM10? Is there antoher version of it? On android 2.2 and 2.3.3 it was working flawlessly. I don't know what happened to the calls with this noise.
On the other hand, I know the IMEI problem is because of the ROM for sure. Just don't know how to fix it.

I'm sure there is more than one, yes. Why don't you post this in the galaxy forums where you'll grab the attention of users with the same phone?

I tried searching for it and surprisingly did not find. Found s4, s3, s2, ace and so on, but not galaxy s. I thought it was quite tricky finding the right place, maybe I was looking in the wrong one?
