[Q] Development with USB Accessory API on Android 2.3.4 - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Has anybody used USB Accessory API on an Android 2.3.4 device having USB on the go?
Sony Ericsson Arc S has 2.3.4 and will I be able to use the USB API on it to interact with my USB peripheral device? Not USB peripheral device does not support Open Accessory Protocol.
But since the 3.1 USB Accessory API is back ported to 2.3.4 So i think we might be able to use the USB API on it?
Thanks in advance for your help!

Moving to Q&A

Please can you state then what is the purpose of the Development Forum? Also my question is solely related to a DEV problem I am having. It is not a General Q&A about android?
This is a question which can only be answered by other Developers and not general public using Android Devices.
I didn't understand why has this been moved to QA forum while no developer will be looking at it?
Thanks.

Using a usb virtual - com port adapter on Android

Hi, I have to use a usb - virtual com port adapter on Android 8. Is ftdi native supported? If not is there a usb adapter supported on Android in order to have a ttyUSB* device or something similar?
If not can you suggest me a supported vendor to bring up a custom usb device?
