soo, I sold my atrix (again....) and buy motorola photon
what I discovery....motorola photon have an option for radio fm....wtf??!
all hardware from photon is similar to atrix (even camera with new software)
so, what I will do, I will try found pointer on kernel to the package...for I can see the framework off the radio
Radio FM is into MUSIC app
if you do u will be dnate by many person.
I know if you flash a photon ROM onto an atrix, you can boot up and get working HDMI mirroring; you just get no data or camera. i wonder if you can get the FM Radio working as well that way?
if that's the case, then we know that Moto just crippled our phones so they could release a better one in the future
I need buy another atrix again to try this

Thats true....do you know atrix 2 is comming...its the same spec was photon, but with 1080p turn on....photon have 8mpx but only record with 720p

I've seen around the forums that some of the savvier contributers have managed to hack the Skype APK to enable more devices to have video chat. Photon 4G being so new is not one of them yet.
Where is the love? Where can we send this request?
Although I am not into Skype, but if I were, I would start by seeking out these contributors/developers and pm'ing them to see what needs to be done, such as if they need the phone for instance etc, etc. If they do, then continue seeking them out to see who has a Photon and work with that developer to make it happen.

Unfortunately, other Tegra2 powered devices are in the same boat.
Samsung and Qualcomm powered devices have been enabled.
I already opened up a thread on this here:

Making some headway with Google Talk already, hoping to have it up by week's end. Skype however is my next project

Well, the hacked skype apk was basically the stock one, but with the device check disabled (like the hack netflix apks before netflix itself removed the check). It ran fine on a number of phones not explicitly supported.
You might try installing the hacked apks and seeing if the photon works with that.
Is this a feature that will not be "technically" offered directly by sprint (or motorola) for skype/google talk?
That was what I had initially thought the front facing camera was for...
Google Talk w/ video works! I posted it up in the Themes and Apps section

I'm a Sprint Launch Ambassador supporting the Photon. I would send this feedback to the Skype team so they can develop for Photon.

I did try. However in the large thread outlining the Skype Video Call efforts, it was explicitly stated that Tegra 2 devices aren't supported by the hacked apk.
didn't they recently update skype for video chatting?? no need to hack it anymore

Yes, I've been using it since the update that enabled it on the MoPho and it works very well.
Im tired of hearing about no rom support and no support in aftermarket (video calling ,ect) for our moto phones..i think it time for the moto "apb" phone users band together to help each other as they share much in common and in problems..
Thoughts?

then how about a "Pho-Trix" or "A-Tron" group ??
the atrix and photon share some commonalities, no ?
well most of the kernel code and tricks can be patched over, but as far as sharing, not so much. like on the g2 you can use dz radios kernels roms etc.. we wont have that due to the radios. hell even the nexus s and nexus s 4g cant share roms and its the same phone, just with wimax and cdma.
While Im aware their are MAJOR differences beween the atrix - photon - bionic (including a diffrent CPU in the bionic from the atrix & photon) there is some things in common ...
From how Moto locks to the the "webtop" and docks these phones have... to whatever we find in common.
Bottom line I just think we need to leverage whatever we can find in common ever if in just to group together to twist Moto arm on things or the after market support (It tick me, things like that not one of these phone is supported by skype video chat or even on a list to be supported)
These three sure have more in common than they do with HTC or Samsung phones
We have in common having some of the best hottest harware out there and we have in common a lack of software support for that harware
Unite and fight to unlock their potential. Im tired of HTC and Samsung trash talkers
Dont think this is possible, but just a thought. I seen a video of the Atrix 2 and the new UI looks awesome. Very fluent and smooth as well. And with the ability for HDMI mirroring, this would be of definite interest.
Problem is, Atrix 2 is using omap and we have the tegra 2. Im not sure if there are some hardware specific settings/programming/kernals etc.
Just a thought peoples so dont chew me out lol. When the Atrix 2 gets rooted it would be interested to see the system dump file and compare it with ours. Maybe Moto actually upgraded the webtop and made it quicker.

Maybe there would be more of a "skin". It just depends on how many people want it.
For me I would probably still use LP just because that's the best Android experience since Vanilla IMO...

why port Atrix 2 ROM, which is Gingerbread... Im more interested in flashing ICS to our beloved Atrix Would that be possible (via the marriage of Motorola and Google) im crossing my fingers.

According to Verizon Droid Razr has
1.3MP front camera
Bluetooth 2.1+EDR
Edit 2...
According to forum members:
Droid Razr doesn't have FM-Radio.
Atrix 2 has FM-Radio(confirmed by engadget too) and 1.3MP front camera(not according to motorola us site).
According to the Verizon website, the Droid Razr has a 1.3mp front facing camera. Unless it is a typo.
I can't detect the FM radio in my RAZR.
Sadly, no FM radio
So, will ROMs that're made for a version work for the other?
Not a big loss with the FM Radio, I'll only have to watch football matches.

Couple errors on the Atrix 2
It does have FM Radio, internet Radio too
It's also got a 1.3mp front camera
I guess the Droid Razer is a World Phone, not a poor CDMA only, like the older brothers.

It is, and it isn't. The reason I say this is because Verizon disabled the GSM radios on the phone, although the phone itself is capable of using GSM networks.

OK so we get s off change the Cid to Google cid and done.
THIS ROCKS. WE WILL HAVE 100% Functionally in AOSP!!!!!
I hope they release a ruu
Damn - I have had my ATT HTC One for a month. I want this version! Perfect device with no bloat - I just want to flash this RUU or ROM
It'd be nice to have official support and be able to install Sense as an add on theme. Google should just buy out HTC.

Looking forward to flashing this when it becomes available. I hope it would be as simple as it sounds, I mean, its the exact same hardware, its just cleaning out the software portion.

Ultrapixel is included from the presser I read.
“A special edition of the new HTC One running stock Android will be exclusively available through the Google Play store in the United States starting on June 26th. This edition pairs the all-metal unibody design, low-light capabilities of the UltraPixel camera and dual front-facing stereo speakers of the new HTC One with the stock version of the latest Android software, Jelly Bean 4.2.2.”

no need for that, once they release an RUU (or leak it ), just dump the proprietaries and build the source
HTC looks like they will be releasing it for current owners as an option, that would be SHWEET!

Of course that would work too. I'm just thinking conversion would be a one time thing.
So much for HTC saying that there was no truth to a stock Android HTC One.
Also, what gets me is, why is the Stock One priced at $599 and the Stock S4 at $649? They're running the same software and the build quality of the S4 sucks compared to the One. It seems the prices should be switched. Are all the media brand specific sheep now? There is no way a stock S4 is worth more than a stock One. It's just not possible. Everything the S4 had going for it (software features) is gone. They're adding $50 for the Samsung brand? BS.

Removable sd card? And we don't know what will work and what won't. Sgs4 has 4 or more sensors than the HTC one. The finger float, barometer, humidity and temperature sensors just to name a few.

Perhaps, but of those sensors are still in there then it will drive up the cost even if they aren't used.
These are supposed to be developer phones to allow developers to use anything hardware wise the phones come with. Samsung might even release the drivers so they can be implemented into AOSP kernels.
But either way, that explains why the SGS4 cost more. It has a lot more sensors and removable SDcard plus a slightly bigger battery.
