[Q] Need urgent help for my X10 mini Pro!!! - Sony Ericsson XPERIA X10 Mini

I have a problem when I tried to install a custom ROM.
I backed up my files using XRecovery, and copied the contents of my SD card on the PC first..
I used the XRecovery to wipe the SDcard, system, cache, data, and delvic-cache..
Then, I mounted the SDcard and plugged it in the PC. I put the CustomROM.zip on the card. Now when I'm trying to install the rom thru XRecovery, it won't work.
I tried to reboot my phone, now my phone is stuck in the
"Sony Ericsson" text when I start my phone; and can't even boot to XRecovery!
How can I
Please help me.. I need my phone so badly..
Please........

What ROM you have installed?
what requirements are appropriate?
because most of the ROMs are now installed with cwm recovery not xrecovery.
if you can get xrecovery try to restore.
If it can not, must be flashed with SE Update Service or flashtool.
sorry for my bad english

I was trying to install Cyanogen MINI pro (MiniCM7_Pro_V16)...
I tried to flash the BIOS using the SE updater service, it says, it could not identify the phone (maybe because, I wiped everything out..)

I think you have to use SEUS, its not pc companion.
Try this http://www.giveawayoftheday.com/soft/961758/
not sure if it will work but just try, just click Download Update Service Pro 2.9 once on site. It might read your phone.
or do you have a flash tool?
just tried this but have to wait for Sony to validate my account.
im now trying this site http://sony-ericsson-update-service.en.uptodown.com/
this one will update your phone when turned of so should work.

I already tried that.. It keeps on displaying the error message:
"Could not identify the device. Please Try again."

try this, its got 2.1 firmwares as well and a flash tool.

[Q] Can We Flash ROMs n Kernel With flash Tools.

My phone is stuck at SE logo.. Xrecovery is also not working.. SEUS also not working. Can rom be flashed vai flash tools . Actually i installed wrong kernel on my rom n the phone became unresponsive.. Please can anyone help. Cant get my phone working.
same here... please can some one help us in installing kernal or roms through flash tools?
if it's stuck at se logo then Seus should work...
flash stock firmware with flashtools and start all over.
Yes, you can
Hi.
I went through something similar, if not the same.
My rom got corrupted with the new kernel, I lost xrecovery and SEUS asks for the SD card to be mounted, which cannot be because ROM did not see it after kernel update.
before reading further, you need to have your phone rooted, you can do it via xrecovery, easily found in this forum.
what did I do to solve it?
***EDITED****
I installed a generic ROM via flashtool, you do not have to boot the phone to do it, the bad thing is that everything will be wiped from phone (not from SD though)
you can find generic X10 stock roms in this forum.
After that, you will be good to go.
hope this helps.

[Q] Think I crashed something while trying to install ICS feralab 2. What...[SOLVED}

Hi guys,
Little warning: I'm not able to write correctly in english ( :cyclops: ), so please tell me if something I say isn't clear.
Yesterday I installed the default android 2.1 firmware in my X10, rooted it and installed xrecovery (0.3gb or somethign like that). Today I downloaded the files for installing the feralabs ICS rom. I'm following this post: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=25331067&postcount=2452
So I copied the kernel file to Flashtool/firmwares, opened the flashtool (version 0.9.8.0), clicked the "Flash" button, choose the flashmode, selected the kernel from feralabs and clicked OK. Rebooted the phone, like the software told me to do, but it got stuck in SE logo. Not 5 or 10 minutes, I've waited for more than 15 minutes and it kept stuck at SE logo.
If I connect the phone to my computer, I'm able to boot it into recovery (now it's opening CWM-based recovery v6.0.1.1, instead of the recovery installed yesterday by Flashtool), but I don't know how can I copy the rom files to the SD card without opening the OS.
So now I'm stuck with the recovery or a (apparently) frozen SE logo screen. What should I do now to proceed installing feralabs ICS?
Thanks in advance. ;]

Same hapend to me also.
I have to revert back to Older version of Kernal and ROM which is available with Flashtool in Firmware folder. Flash it and you will get your working phone back.
I am ruuning on the same ROM now which you are trying to Install but there is a problem with me for Google Account addition , it is not allowing to add a Google Account, not sure why. let me know if you are successfully able to do it.
Ok anuj.patel, thanks. ;D
I'll try to install an older kernel and the stock firmware. Then I'll update this topic, asking for directions.

Ok, done.
Now, what is the right procedure to install feralabs ics? Please correct anything wrong in this line of action:
1- I'll root my phone and install Flashtool's Recovery again.
2- I'll copy the .zip of feralabs ics rom and feralabs update to sdcard. How should I copy (adb shell or usual usb mounting) these files? Where should these files should be copied to?
3- Where should I put FeraKernel_V4_ICS.ftf (kernel) file? What directory under Flashtool?
3- I'll run Flashtool, click in kernel button (not flash button, like I did last time, lol) and choose the ferakernel.
4- Then I'll reboot the phone to recovery, and choose to install the .zip file of feralabs ICS.
Is it correct?

I just did the install and...
After you install the new firmware, I didn't expect my phone to boot. Also, I had already copied the zip's to my SD card with this expectation. So what I did was after the kernel install..
Boot to recovery by spaming back button when powering on phone
wiping and mounting as instructions say
installing main zip
NOT rebooting at end and stayed in recovery
applied 2.2 update
enjoyed..
Hope that helps..
Thanks for helping, tschwenke!
In what location of sd card I should put the .zips? Is it important, or I'll be able to find it in recovery, so no matter where I put, It will work?
I should flash the feralabs kernel with the "kernel" button of Flashtool or with the "Flash" button? If the correct button is the kernel, then where should I put the .ftf file?

First of all, Default X10 firmware is GB 2.3.3.
Second thing,go to Xrecovery or CWM, connect your phone with PC via USB, go to Partition Tools(Xrecovery) or Maunt and Storage (CWM), and just choose Mount USB Storage, on Mount USB Storage do nothing else (if you press Unmaunt, you will leave that menu). Then on PC, go to Computer, and go to Removable Disk (your SD card) and do what you want (copy, paste). When you finished, on your phone choose Unmaunt, and disconnect your phone from PC.
And one question, did you UNLOCK BOOTLOADER?
And, if you do, follow FeraVolt "How to"...It is written:
- Flash my kernel using latest flashtool
- Boot into recovery..copy Rom and update to SD.. Do a Full Wipe
- Go to partition menu and Format SYSTEM
- MOUNT ALL partitions
- Flash Rom..and mount SYSTEM again.
- Flash Update
- After first rom boot.. wipe cache and dalvik cache and reboot it few times again
Now, to go to recovery, you must keep pressing Back button immediately after you power on your phone.
Dzufa, thanks for helping. ;]
I did what you told, but the SD isn't beign mounted in my system. Any tips? Thould I disable usb debugging? Don't think so... =(
I'm running a ubuntu 12.10 (x64) system. I think the SD card is being mounted as read only, look at my lsblk command:

It really doesn't matter HOW you get the zips onto the SDcard or really where they are. I have a "_Flash" directory that I always use. You can even put the zips there using a external card reader if desired.
Just get them on there. Then from recovery you select the "Install from zip" and you can go and select the file. The full wipe/factory reset will not wipe them from the SD card. The only option that will do that is the one that says something to the affect of format the sd card!
So, starting from "Full Wipe" down in the instructions, that order is correct. Before that again, it really isn't a big deal HOW you get the zips on there.
Also, yes, the Kernel I did from flashtool, using the FLASH / FLASHMODE option. I had put the ftf file in my C:\Flashtool\firmwares directory. After that was done was when I did the reboot into recovery with the spam (keep repeatedly pressing the back button).

Got it, thanks.
I tried a Pc running windows, and couldn't see the sd card as well. So I copied it with adb shell. It's in /android directory, and I was able to see it in xRecovery. So now i'll try it again: I'll flash the FeraLabs kernel and follow the tutorial.
Thanks everybody, I'll post the result as soon as I can.

Hi guys,
The feralabs ICS is now running in my x10. Thank you all, and sorry for any inconvenience.
Now I have 2 more doubts (hehehe):
1- Where can I find the JB task killer that is described in the intall-guide-post?
2- Where can I find the SRS equalizer?
Thanks in advance ;D

I had this problem once to. On my HTC Flyer, nothing I could do to recognize the phone. I had to ditch the HTC Driver and tried every copy of the android drive I could find on XDA. I will see if I can find the file that worked for me. But in the interim you may want to try a few.
BTW I am not an expert. This worked for me and it sounds like the same situation to me. :fingers-crossed:
Here's a question: where'd you get the recovery? http://www.clockworkmod.com/rommanager, i don't see your device as supported. Also, i believe they're called universal naked drivers, that may be of help.

yeah im trying that driver thing out right now thx
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=20058157&postcount=1 if you havent found them.
and in this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2129298, the cwm versions are removed.."CWM 6.0.2.7 is not save to use, you may damage your phone. "
so hopefully you tried these: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1843825
I am not a developer or anything & havent read many forums...but while playing with myTouch I did get stuck a few times.
Somethings I cant point out if u wanna try as a layman:
1. can u mount your sd card through recovery?
2. if you can than just pick another rom for your device and put it onto your sd card
3. wipe data & partition, wipe cache, delete davlik. some devices work ONLY with wipe script (for my friend only the wipe script worked)
4. dont use odin. go to cwm recovery & install zip from sd card & choose the rom (the 1 from step 2).
I think that should get u out safely....hope it helps
@bodh
i actually installed a cwm 5 version
maybe thats the cause of the whole problem
@indiankarmas
i did install multiple roms from the sd card, first cm9 then stock rom
but it doesnt really work
how i fixed the problem:
when i flashed cm9 and used the bootloader with odin to pass the recovery mode my phone booted the stock os
installing from the external sd didnt work, i just wiped my phone for nothing
it booted the stock os, i didnt want this but this made my pc recognize my phone
so i transferred the rom and gapps in the internal sd
got back to recovery mode and installed from internal sd
and used the bootloader again to pass the recovery mode
again, i appreciate you guys trying to help me out

If you have a backup from a working OS using CWM Recovery v5.0,2,7 (This is what I have on my 'rooted' X10i) you should restore it.
Otherwise use SEUS or PC Companion and re-install the Sony base OS.
Normally if you can't boot the system the only option is to re-install.
There is an exception to this guideline, where you could install/reinstall sdcard zips where it is known the zip would/could recover whatever previous updates that were made.
You can use a PC to load a zip on a working SDcard and then use CWM recovery(or xRecovery) to install the 'new' zip to restore the XPERIA X10i.
Just go to Your recovery and flash rom (don't forget to wipe Your data) . Else You can just flash whole new rom using flashtool.

Stuck in CWM ! NO ADB

This is my first time rooting my device and all that, I'm still a noob and forever will be.
anyway I followed the normal steps where you download Odin and everything went fine and my phone was still working now I had to update the CWM version to 6.0.4 or something so I downloaded the Kit-Kat compatible zip file and upgraded the version to what I wanted it to be.
Now I read in one of the steps that I need to backup my files and so I did but now I can't recover it and my phone doesn't turn on I'm stuck in CWM I can still see my files on the phone and when I restore it does name the files I already had but my phone does not work just goes black ...so either CWM or a black screen.
My PC does not recognize the phone, Kies doesn't either.
Did I nuke my phone?

i can't understand: are you able to access CWM (using the three button combination) or you can't even turn on your phone?
If you can access CWM, go in "mounts and storage" and select "mount USB storage", then connect your phone to the computer and see if it is recognized

Hi all,
I am in the same situation, but can't figure it out.... I wanted to upgrade to Kitkat so I downloaded Supernexus 4.0 but the install from zip fails everytime I attempt it.. So I'm stuck in the CWM and I don't have a backup ROM to install...
I checked the md5 sum of the ROM, it's ok.
I wipe the /data partition, the cache and the dalvik cache before installing from zip..
I installed the last CWM version (v6.0.4.5).
I don't know what to do next because the only ROM I have in my phone is the supernexus 4.0 which cannot be installed and I cannot mount my phone using "mount USB storage" in CWM, my PC doesn't see the phone mass storage..
Any idea ?
Thanks,

Always keep a working kernel/rom .zip in you internal memory so if you are stuck you don't need to use Odin!
Try to use another USB port or another computer to see if it is recognized, or if you have a MicroSD load a rom on that and insert it in your phone.
if not, you have to use Odin and flash a kernel or rom using the pc.
