[Q] Pictures in gallery unknown date on CM 7.1 - AT&T Samsung Galaxy S II SGH-I777

Any one experiencing Gallery issues on CM 7.1? After each reboot any picture taken after rooting and flashing stable CM 7.1 the pictures are moved all the way to the end of the camera folder with an "Unknown Date".
The pictures themselves have accurate dates when i view them through the file manager. Additionally they come up acuratly though the QuickPic app.
just the Gallery does not seem to display them...
Any feedback appreciated.

I think I solved my problem by flashing the gallery app from this post http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1019667.
Additionally this version seems to be much faster then the one in cm 7.1. It almost seems the same one as the stock app.
Need to do some more tests.

Never mind after power off all the new pics have unknown dates again. Back to square one.

The only fix so far is using a different camera.

Pictures distorted?

Hi all I just got this phone about a week ago and one thing I notice is that alot of my previous pictures look distorted. There's alot of noise and some are discolored and not very clear. Im not talking about pictures I take with the phone im talking about pictures taken with other phones that are on my comp. Is this due to settings, or a glitch, pr is it just how the screen is? Thanks xda.

Try updating your firmware, could fix this issue. Probably just a problem with the gallery.
Im on 2.2.2 already and I ran a check for updates already, nothing came up. Btw pictures look the same in a third party gallery app as well as the stock gallery app.

[Q] slow camera

Hi, I've been using a number of ics roms since it was released and am currently on wanam v 12. I was wondering if anyone else has had a very slow response from the stock camera since moving to ics, never had any problems with gingerbread. The camera takes a picture normally but takes several seconds to finally respond and able to take another picture. Any advice?

Probably not the advice you're looking for, but try miui rom, specifically cmiui. The camera is really nippy on that one.
It may be a CM9 camera apk that's installed in cmiui. You could see if you could track down the apk on its own if you don't want to flash another rom.
And I know what you mean, every ics rom has given me bad lag with taking pics.

The GS2 doesn't have zero-shutter lag, but I am not experiencing a few seconds worth of lag as you are.
Try clearing data in App Info, which will hopefully fix your issue.
Try alternative cameras on the Play Store, namely Camera ICS.
Report back and tell me if that fixes anything.
Hey thanks for the advice! I cleared data on the app and is way faster now.

CM10 (Jelly bean) by epinter - Camera LAG

I´m using the CM10 from epinter and it really is a nice ROM but this issue is killing my patience.
The camera has an enormous LAG to take photos. Anybody else have this issue? Is there anything I can do to resolve it?
Have you tried using a different camera app (i.e. FxCamera) to see if the same problem exists? That will at least cutout a few variables.
I had that issue in earlier versions of the ROM, but it got better over time. I think it's related to missing HWA. Try using camera 360, that's what I used.

Try Re-flashing the latest gapps from epinter's website. It worked for me.

It´s better... but...
Thank you all...
I used all suggestions you guys made and also installed the 1.3 Ghz overclock Kernel and the camera is better now but, when I try to use the Lapse It app the camera still LAG...
I´ve tried the CM9 MROM from mmontuori and the camera is very nice with it, but there are many bugs and the battery draim does not allows me to keep using it.
If you guys knows any other CM9/CM10 ROM with no camera LAG, please tell me.
Bests Regards!

[Q] Faulty camera app on cm 10.1 nightly

Hey guys,
Just replaced my corosed htc one x with a brand new i9300.
The first thing I did was installing cwm and cm 10.1 latest nightly.
I have noticed that there is a known camera app bug with touch to focus option and flash(it just crashes and takes a grey pic)
Is anybody working on this?
Can anyone reccomend a good alternative camera app?
Thanks!

Take pictures without using touch to focus. When you accidentally do touch the screen, close the app and reopen it. Or use a stock rom. Also concider to let the S3 become your last Samsung phone like a lot of us do and get a Nexus phone next time.
Oh and I read that you can get the Huawei camera app on your phone and that one is supposed to work perfectly, but I didn't test it myself.
Hey,
Thanks for the advice, I'll try it.
So nobody is trying to fix the bug?

Instead of creating a new thread, search for the issue on the thread of the ROM that you're using - which is CM10.1. You'll find all answers and workarounds there, and it'll take you less than 15 minutes to go through all the relevant posts, as opposed to an unknown number of days and unreliable replies here.

Vanilla Rootbox V3.9.1 Camera Flash Bug

Hello XDA. This ROM (rootbox 3.9.1) is supposed to be stable, but when I turn on flash or automatic flash and I touch to focus then shoot, the camera app lags and force closes (and doesn't take the picture). This is annoying in so many ways, and makes it virtually impossible for me to take pictures in low light. Please help me address this issue for it is killing me and I don't feel like downloading a whole new ROM, flashing it and reorganizing all my settings all over again just to fix this issue. I also had this issue with CM10.1 (but that was normal, cause it is a nightly).
Anybody else have this issue? And possibly a fix?
Thanks in advance.
Also: inb4 "search the official root box thread". I did, and nobody seems to have this issue.

As far as I know this issue was fixed a couple of days ago in the CM Nightlies so maybe the Vanilla Rootbox base hasn't been updated yet or you aren't using their latest update.

Didn't work. what version of this aosp camera are you using? And with what ROM? I got the latest version. And it still crashes.

Actually I've found a way to bypass this problem. If I turn on the volume key to take pictures function, autofocus with flash on and take the picture with the volume key, it doesn't crash. I guess I'll just have to live with it like this for now, oh well.
OK now how do I close this thread? Or there's no such thing? Can any mod or janitor or whatever help me out here? I'm new here
