[Q] Is there a script for this? - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I was wondering if there was a script or way to make gingerbread widgets (or apps even) compatible with older versions, such as froyo.
The reason why I ask is because the GS2 Digital Clock Widget only works for phones on Gingerbread, and not froyo. I've had it working on my Epic 4G before when I was on a gingerbread leak, so I know my phone is capable, just not on Froyo.
Is there anyone who knows how to make the widget, or even other widgets/apps, work with an older version?
When I mention apps, I don't necessarily mean GS2 apps since I know some only work with the correct framework and everything.
Thanks.

Live Wallpaper - Water

I have a Autonooter 3.0 rooted NC. I am looking for the Live Wallpaper Water and can not find it anywhere. It is the one that shows the surface of a pond with leaves. When you touch the screen the surface ripples. Does anyone know where I can get this?
"Waterize" should be available in the Market.
Cheers,
kev
Thanks, that looks nice, but not the one I am looking for.
I believe you are talking about the stock live wallpaper that Google included with Android 2.2 Froyo. Nook just rooted is only 2.1 until B&N provides the rumored 2.2 update (though it will be a stripped down edition). If you flash a newer ROM it will be included.
I have been using Customized Nookie Froyo 0.6.8 by brianf21 for a while now and love it. Much better than 2.1. I am going to try CM7 pretty soon though because I want bluetooth and Android 2.3 Gingerbread.
Look at the samsung galaxy s serious of phones. You cam extract the wallpaper from a rom in the captivate section. It's called leaves I believe.

I am running the Phiremod variant (version 5.2) of CM7. It is on there and set as my wallpaper.
This instance, by the way, appears to be very stable. The live wallpapers are fine. my only (minor) complaint is that some map-based apps die on startup. I have tried many different LCD Density Settings, but I think it does not like the clocking: Phiremod is overclocked to 1.1, I believe.

Do you have root explorer? If so, can you pull the apk and post it? I keep forgetting every time I'm at home. Or op, send me a pm and I'll get an email, then I won't forget.
I would post it, but I don't have access to a pc with internet, and I can't upload from phones app or browser.

[Q] COMROM Apps on CM7

So i was wondering if it were at all possible to get some of the features or apps from COMROM(Froyo) to CM7? Specifically MMS, I am not a huge fan of the looks of it on CM7 and wanted to know if there is a themed version somewhere out there or a way to get MMS from COMROM(Froyo) working on CM7? Same thing for the clock. The CM7 version doesn't have all the same ringers so is there a fix or something reccommended for that? Also are the apps not the same due to differences between Gingerbread and Froyo. Reason i ask is because Titanium Backup didn't restore some of the things i backed up. Thanks for any help guys.

Port Google ICS apps to the KP1 leak?

Is it possible to port the standard Google apps from say, a Galaxy Nexus image?
I downloaded the system dump for the Galaxy Nexus and tried copying the Phone.apk to the /system/app dir (renaming the existing one) but nothing happens- after restart for example the Phone app (Google) does not appear in the launcher. Also found this link but they apparently dont work :-(
Personally I think samsung has regressed ICS by using their custom apps. Fair enough, some may have found they improved say Froyo or Gingerbread (not sure what it originally came with) but vanilla ICS is just so slender!
It should be able to work s I've ADB pushed that plus Contacts and other apps from AOSP builds to this KP1 build. I removed most of TouchWiz from the phone and it still "worked" (visually anyways). I can't wait to get a full AOSP build, after playing with the others i'm just drooling more and more these days!
can you share the contacts and phone app with me? im just doing the same with deleting the bloatware.

[Q] [Flyer] Killing off Sense?

Is there a simple way of disabling sense completely for the Flyer?
I've changed to ADW EX but I know the processes are still running and taking up resources in the background.
I'd love to be able to disable sense and reinstall the stock contacts, calendar, etc.
From what I gather, even HC has it baked in :'(
From what I've read elsewhere for other devices this is a near-impossible task, however given that this is the first tablet I've known about I figured it may be worth asking.
Alternatively, is there a ROM without Sense available? The few I've checked out have included it for some bizarre ( ) reason.
Thanks!
Lol I have one out that I'm working on that doesn't have sense. If you didn't want to flash a ROM you could probably freeze all the sense apps using titanium backup (i think)

I checked out the ROM, looks good and I like what you're trying to accomplish but is there nothing at the moment that's completely Sense free at all?
No, unless a Asop rom comes about
Is this something that is likely to appear? CM or similar?

[Q] AOKP-NEO 1.6 Linaro Rom for HTC Rezound

Can someone please help? I've never flashed a Rom before but downloaded all of the components and am planning to. But I'm wondering if anyone has screenshots of what this Rom's GUI looks like. I'm currently running ICS 4.0.3 and am hoping the rom will make it look more like my fiancee's Droid Bionic now does since her 4.0.4 update, particularly her app drawer screens (I ran across a cyanogen Rom that looked like hers but it was for gingerbread vs. ICS and I don't wanna go backwards). Also, I've read of some GPS issues with the Rom. Also wondering if it provides WiFi hotspot tethering (phone as a hotspot). Anyone have screenshots of this Rom, i.e., lockscreen, app drawer, etc., anyone know of GPS issues or hotspot capability? Also does it feature that weird unicorn in the bootscreen? (Don't want my phone to look corny). Any help would be appreciated. Don't know if this is the thing for me to do or not but would like to have the closest thing to 4.0.4.
