Cheers bud haha I'm not a noob It's cool

To just deny internet access, try Droidwall. It's a great app, and the process it uses (changing the iptables) is much more reliable than whatever method the other app uses. I've tried Permissions Denied and it seems to work occasionally but not all of the time.

So I bought a bluray/dvd/digital download. First i've ever bought a movie like this. The digital download can be used through the application pocket blu. Only problem is that when I try, the app says device detected as rooted. For security reasons blah blah blah. Is there any way around this or trick the app into thinking I'm unrooted?

Don't grant the app superuser access.

I never allowed it su access. In superuser, it has no log of gaining access and it is not listed in the apps section

Follow the posted directions in this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1289635
Or, do it the easy way and install this app: https://market.android.com/details?id=com.zachspong.google.videos.root&feature=search_result
One click to shut root down, then click to activate root again once you are done.
Red somebody had it but I don't believe them anybody confirm?
By the way I'm on a lot of pain killers so if anybody has already asked this I am so sorry!

not aware of any method for temp rooting. why not fully root it?
Certain cable providers like time Warner won't allow you watch live tv on their app. Some games too when rooted
Sent from my HTC_Amaze_4G using xda app-developers app
You can fully root and then you can use the SuperUser app to temp unroot.
Only Temp Root that the Amaze had was on 1.36. Since then, it was always a perm root.
Can someone link me to the guide that instructs how to pull bloat apks through adb?
In the hospital right now so it's hard. And thank you so much for everything you've done all of you

Thanks in advance for help.

I run into that issue too off and on, I'm curious about the response too. I assume you're referring to side loads, do you get any issues trying to install anything from the market?

Marketplace works just fine. just outside sources are and I have that checked...

Drop the apk in /data/app and reboot.
Drop it there and then install reboot or other way around??
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I717 using xda premium
Just paste it in.
May wanna fix permissions in recovery after, but just pasting it there should install it.
So it should be in the app drawer upon booting up.
OK I'll try that

Depending on the app,/apk it may require placing it in system/app folder.

Also... depending on the app there may be an accompanying lib file that needs to go in /system/lib
Didn't work. tried a new app and a update for an app and didn't work.. any other ideas??

What app and what steps did you take?
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I717 using xda app-developers app
Download a game from outside source. Moved to the data/app via folder manager. Rebooted into recovery, fixed permissions then rebooted again

I am not sure of this thread is within the rules of the forum anymore...
If it's paid apps you're trying to download and pirate, no further help will be given here.
No lol not pirated apps... no outside sources is letting me download...

It's your rom ....(which one are you using)?
I've had a few like that ....and you need a different browser.
Download boat browser from the play store....and install it.....or use dolphin browser as well.
Then use TIBU to freeze your default browser then reboot.
You should get downloads after that....if not ....you may need a different build....
If using a touchwiz based rom, this problem will occur on occasion.
Post back up with your results ...g
I'm using latest PA. I'll try what you said and post back..

This app claims to boost performance of android device, how do it work. More importantly is it safe as it ask for SuperSU permission, what is SuperSU permission anyway. I think I heard somewhere that superSU just mean allowing access to the SuperSU app, am I right or is this goong to give the app control over EVERYTHING (ie malware heaven).

Super su or superuser are apps that help you control what has access to your phone. Once rooted your phone becomes mostly free to use as you want. Having an app like supersu will help you keep malware at bay as anything requesting root access needs to go through it. So you aren't open for attack unless you grant something malicious permission
As for the app you want, I can't say how well it works but there are for sure some that help on older phones in particular. Usually any of the tweets an app like this offers you can do yourself manually, this just makes it easier to use. Try it out, if you don't like it delete it

App dont seem to do anything. Could be a case of malware. Like wallpaper apps that ask for dialing permission. Unless ofc other have something good to say about it.

I never used this application, but if you want to increase performance, use Adrenaline engine or Fly on Mod

Only if you ask permission first.
That's why you root. What did you think you did it for?
