So I bought a bluray/dvd/digital download. First i've ever bought a movie like this. The digital download can be used through the application pocket blu. Only problem is that when I try, the app says device detected as rooted. For security reasons blah blah blah. Is there any way around this or trick the app into thinking I'm unrooted?

Don't grant the app superuser access.

I never allowed it su access. In superuser, it has no log of gaining access and it is not listed in the apps section

Follow the posted directions in this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1289635
Or, do it the easy way and install this app: https://market.android.com/details?id=com.zachspong.google.videos.root&feature=search_result
One click to shut root down, then click to activate root again once you are done.

I'd just borrow someones computer for 15 minutes. Im sure you know someone who has one. Download all the files to your phone so all you have to do is install the drivers, run the program and uninstall it if they want.
or you can do the dock method at a sprint store if you are brave enough...
I found computer... Is there a linux root method

I rooted the photon only using the phone. Downloaded the file to sd. Then used terminal emulator to run 3 commands..done..so easy.

Did you get it figured out yet? Looks like you would be successful using the Photon Torpedo method using just your phone: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1216131

Hey guys, is there a way to block certain permissions for an app? For example internet access?
Sent from my Desire HD using xda premium
Yes there is but you need to be Rooted also i tested the app and it will not Deny permissions and the app said reboot to take effect but when my phone is up the promissions did not take efffect for my phone but you can always try it i will give you the market link

Cheers bud haha I'm not a noob It's cool

To just deny internet access, try Droidwall. It's a great app, and the process it uses (changing the iptables) is much more reliable than whatever method the other app uses. I've tried Permissions Denied and it seems to work occasionally but not all of the time.

Sorry if this is in the wrong section.
I am in the uk,however my question is that the app won't run on a rooted device. As stated in there description on the play store.
If I use the voodoo temp unroot app will this work. If so what steps do I need to take.
Thanks for looking and helping.

I tried ping it on an unrooted hox and it will not install because it thinks my pone is rooted. I can live without ping it...

not aware of any method for temp rooting. why not fully root it?
Certain cable providers like time Warner won't allow you watch live tv on their app. Some games too when rooted
Sent from my HTC_Amaze_4G using xda app-developers app
You can fully root and then you can use the SuperUser app to temp unroot.
Only Temp Root that the Amaze had was on 1.36. Since then, it was always a perm root.
Can someone link me to the guide that instructs how to pull bloat apks through adb?
In the hospital right now so it's hard. And thank you so much for everything you've done all of you

I was wondering, can you install a update if you are not rooted? I tried hitting install and nothing happens, only cancel seems to work. Would like to avoid rooting if possible and the only reason why I want to do this update is to pay via PayPal.

yes, but this should have been posted in the Q&A section. Not the "general" section.
Ah, sorry, still getting used to the app lol.
*edit* EasyEyes app was preventing me from being able to install for some reason, temporarily disabling allows the install.
