Hi an hello too all.
One Noob more on XDA-Developers
Just a little question!
As i cannot Post in the development Forum i have to ask here.
I´m looking for a CF-Root Kernel for this Firmware:
PDA: I9100XWKI4
Phone: I9100XXK11
CSC: I9100DBTKH1
It´s the official Firmware 2.3.4 released over Kies in Germany.
I searched like my Fingers get hot, but no result.
If anyone has the correct Kernel, i would be glad about a Download-Link.
Thanks a lot
PS: Sorry about my English, writing English is horrible 4 me.
You dont need to be able to post in development to scroll through the first two pages
cf root thread in development forum which you could have easily found by searching
I found this thread but i didn´t found a correct Kernel for my Firmware!

Your are right, and i understand this, in my German Forum it´s the same, but look, I post detailled Information about my Firmware. Ok, i did not look hard enough, but a experienced user, who knows about the right kernel, could answer my question with one post. Now we are at the 6 or 7 post!
Nerve Questions I agree comes over and over again, but i´m so fair in my German Forum to answer right in anyway and i´m not going to post "Use the search function etc."
This is not evil

No worries mate.
Anyway just use the cf-root linked by Darkside Agent.
Be sure 100% you know what you are doing, read the cf-root instruction twice at least because it is full of ppl that bricked (or semi bricked) the phone because the hurry to root without check the whole instructions.

Hi,
I have a Galasxy S 2 and wat to root it. It is running on Android 2.3.4 gingerbread.XWKI4. What is the easiest and simplest way to root my phone so I can get rid of all the add's?
I am a noob in this field so I hope one of you can help me out with a clear instruction. Thanx for your time and effort!
Cheerz,
Daemyon
Welcome, but don't forget that "search" is your friend...
Start here, then read and search some more. Don't rush.
Remove "add's" - do you mead advertisements on apps, or additions/bloatware (apps you don't need/want)?
Find the KI4 kernel in this thread & use it to root your phone. Read the first post in that thread carefully, follow the instructions to the letter & you shouldn't have any problems, assuming you have either an I9100 or a I9100T (check the sticker under the battery to make sure before you do anything).
P.S - For future reference, questions belong in the Q&A section of the board

Yes I mean advertisements in apps, those are the most annoying. I will check the thread you have sent me, thanx!

I will check the thread and see if it gets me anywhere. I read somewhere there is also a possibility to do it on one click. you download something on your phone, run the programm through a restart in download mode and then it is rooted. Is that possible as well? I have a I9100. I will put my threads in the proper forum next time. Thanx!
If you mean SuperOneClick, yes, that is an alternative way to root your phone other than Odin/CFRoot. I've never used it so I have no idea how it works, do a search on here & find the thread devoted to it.
I'm noob with Galaxy S II as i'm using Galaxy Wonder. My brother wants to root the S II. So anybody got some ideas to do so?

Two threads in eleven minutes from two different users asking the same, unbelievably basic question. Asking of which is clear admittance of breaking the rules (rule 1). So to ensure I'm in adherence to the rules (rule 10), I post the below to be helpful.

It's not possible. Many skillful developers are working hard to crack it, but Samsung's protection is just too hard to crack, it seems. If you somehow still find people, saying that it's possible, don't believe them, they are trying to trick you. All the existing "working" methods are just going to break your phone.
Ok, now on a serious note, it's possible, but I really wouldn't advise you to do that, regarding your... erm... "mental capabilities" in challenging situations.
being a bit helpful here
why do you want to root do you know why you are rooting ???
Please understand rooting voids your warranty .

I'm currently using Wanam's ICS ROM. Current kernel is LPB. I wanna change to LP6 kernel as it is more stable. Does anyone know where to find the list of kernels?

Here you'll find all you need.
The process isn't kernel specific. If you look in the SGS2- Original Android development forum, you'll find stock and insecure kernels. You'll need one of those. Look for a post by Chainfire, or CF-root.
Edited: Better?

"stock insecure" after your link is ... yeah whatever.
Anyhow, it looks to be the first kernel listed in this post forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=19013036&postcount=7. He'll want to read about voiding the warranty and the yellow triangle and so forth. I'm too lazy to find the links at the moment.
The forum search function should be more informative for those issues, DEREKTROTTER. There's a main sticky thread at the top of the sections that are also helpful.
Please search and read the stickys since hold valuable information.

Hey XDA Forums. Bit of a newbie here at the moment, but considering I have just bought my SGS2 from Kogan I have no idea what region my phone is from.
I'm looking for the appropriate CF-Root for my SGS2 on ICS. Full phone details are in the screenshot link below.

If anyone could link me to the appropriate CF-Root file I would be more than happy!

Ctrl + f and search for LPS. Follow instructions on the first post, specifically the Instructions - ODIN (long).

XXLPS is the baseband, but you have to look for the build number. From your screenshot this is XWLP7. Just search the the CF-Root thread for a version matching your build. Make sure your read the section Help! Which file do I use ? before downloading.

As already advised, read the section of post 1 of the CF-root thread that has the heading "Help! Which file do I use ?". It answers your question.
Apologies, thanks for both of you. Appreciate the help. Will flash my the kernel once I'm finished playing around with Google TV!

Well firstly, please use common sense and write logical topic titles. "Pls help" and other such silly titles mean absolutely nothing to people who are browsing the forum. Titles are supposed to be descriptive, ie describe the topic briefly.
Secondly you cant have looked very far because there is plenty of ICS based kernels in the Dev area. Just go grab the Siyah kernel and flash via ODIN and your done.

It's the link to Siyah kernel download site. Scroll down and find Siyah for S2 ver 4.1.5. Choose TAR ver (as you prefer).
That's it.

Then again, some would still not get it. Its fighting a losing battle.

The prompt before you post a thread is a good idea. But yeah, you're probably right, people would ignore it anyways.
