In the Wireless Networks it says "Connected" next to my "SSID" i have the correct key and dns/static ip setup. I go on Marketplace, internet browser (Opera), and another internet browser (Skyfire) and none of them work, so basically I'm connected to my router but I have no Internet.
I have HSPL3, ChuckyROM, and Radio Radio_2_11_50_26, I used to have Radio 2_12_50_02_2 but the internet didn't work with that one either.
What could be wrong??

First off why are you using static?
Second have seen these types of issues before with static , try dynamic(DHCP).
well i have to use the dns, i don't need the static ip, i switched to dhcp and only input the dns but it is still not working.

In your settings, when you configured your wifi , in the box that says "connects to:" did you select "The Internet" or "My Work", this should be Internet ...
yea its says "The Internet" and by the way, after i removed the static IP my connection just says Unavailable when i try to connect (I hide my router's SSID so i input the stuff manually)
Oh and i had a motorola cliq before and it connected just fine
ok so for some reason i retried it just now and the internet works...so i guess problem is solved
Hi, I searched the forums and found this thread regarding wifi Internet problem so I'm posting my problems here.
I'm having similar wifi issue. I can connect to home router just fine but when I'm out using either free wifi from some stores (like panera or starbucks) or School wifi, it shows up as "Connected" but when I try browser it won't even show the home page or log in page. I switched from "Work" to "Internet" but it still won't work...
I don't think it's hardware problem but more so OS problem or something i'm missing. This problem only occurs with WinMo 6.5(I use stock rom), and when I boot Dan Android, wifi works fine. I'm not sure if Android's usage of wifi is somehow affecting my WinMo's ability to log into wifi but this is my wild guess.
If someone knows what my problem is could you please help me?
thanks
i think my problem was that when i tried to connect to my wifi, my hd2 was connected to my pc via usb. when i tried to connect when i'm not connected to my pc it worked
that's about all i know, hope it helps
did recognize this too...i think w-lan is disabled when active sync is activated...because the phone can use the internet connection of the pc.
back to topic: do you use static ip's in your home network or does the other networks (school) require a static but you're on dynamic ip?

hm, I have no idea which ip I use when I'm connected to home or public. How do I check?
Every time I try connecting to wifi phone stops on "obtaining IP address" and then disconnects. I tried setting up a manual configuration (IP, gateway, dns1, dns2) and this does solve the problem, but as soon as I switch it off it won't connect again.
TL;DR: wifi works only when using static IP

This is a ramdisk's issue. Try a new kernel from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1172200
Edit: I'm using this Rom now. No WiFi issue. (Pay attention what module you will download - cm 7. 0. 3 or cm 7. 1. 0)

Hello there,
I dont know what happened, but suddenly the GT 10.1 stay trying to obtain the ip address. The issue was presented after update the last version to 3.2 rom but no right away, some days after. The router is from home, and i've read the solve is to connect through static ip, but i dont like this option.
Anybody has have this issue.
Thanks in advance

When ever this happens with me, i just turn off and tun on the wifi in the tab. That works fine for me.
I have this problem on minicm10 and after looking over the web I see that many others have the same issue too.my wifi still hangs in the "obtaining IP" status....
One solution posted is about setting static IP address.
Well as we know DHCP is time dependant and after going to data/misc/dhcp I see this (look at attachments)
after flashing the rom, dhcp folder is blank, obviously. And when I make my first connection these two files are created and the creation date is 1970...I believe that this error has something to do with the continuous "obtaining ip" issue. I also tried deleting cache and dalvik cache, which solved the issue but when i turned wifi off and on again it still hung in obtaining ip
Any ideas?
guys?none knows?
Hello since I update my samsung galaxy SIII to 4.2.1 when I try to connect to my wifi network my device keeps telling me "obtaining IP address" and nothing more, never conects to my network. that is weird because it was working before the update. There is a way to fix this? I dont want to set and static IP address it seems stupid to me. I need help to fix this please. Thanks you and pardon my english (its not my native language).
I had the same problem with a Galaxy Tab, I'm not sure if this'll fix it, but if your phone's rooted, if you go in to the main root, misc, dchp and delete the DHCP list, that may well fix it.
