Was following the instructions for the rooting of xperia x10 working on 2.3.3 stock rom while i finished with the downgrade kernel step, i had to do the rooting! somehow finished it by clicking "root" and the log appeared as "root available after reboot".but after that i am not able to connect my phone in flash mode inorder to flash and upgrade the kernel.. so now the phone is stuck at the "sony ericsson" logo with the backlight on..No other button is working!

how long did you take the battery out for? (I think that's the next step - I had just done this last night!)
Try it again man.
And try to be more patient.
Maybe you have to take the battery out longer and put it on again then go to flashtool and flash the ftf, then when pop up image appear, press back button on ur phone and connect ur phone to pc.
Let me know if it works or not mate.

Phone is stuck on SONY ERICSSON logo. Can't remove and put back the battery as it is x10 mini. How to let flash to prepare and do the job properly?
To anyone who gets the "Error Flashing. Aborted" Message:
If this occurs, instead of already having the phone in flash mode when you hit flash, hit flash first, then while it searches for Xperia devices, plug it in in flash mode.
That's the only way my phone flashed.

Do you have an AT&T X10? Those have 'Unknown sources' hidden in Settings > Applications.
If you are trying to flash an AT&T X10 1.6 to Sony Ericsson generic world 2.1, you can follow this guide:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1012380
It's very helpful and takes only about 10 to 15 minutes at the most.
thanks that guide really helped and it worked
I have the same problem, but usb debugging and unknown sources is turned on (well was when my o/s still worked )
It gave me then the same problem as it does now
Now it loops with the SE logo (last time at least i had CW installed)
I have tried a SEUS but it gives me the "software is up to date" so i can't do a repair like i did last time
Any ideas???

1. Did you put the correct X10 Mini drivers into the drivers folder? By default it's running on the X10 drivers, although when you connect the device first time, it will ask for your exact device.
2. Try flashing the stock 2.1 firmware for your X10 Mini (not sure where to find X10 Mini stock firmwares, but they shouldn't be too hard to find). Generally, that can completely restore the software condition back to when it came out of a factory or you just updated it to 2.1

You can only flash a custom kernel when the bootloader is unlocked. For instructions on unlocking the bootloader, look at this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1254087
If your phone also refuses to boot, flash the stock firmware for the Xperia X10 via Flashtool

How do you unlock the boatloader, when one of the steps is to flash with the azuru rom? I try to do the downgrade kernel with flashtool, and I get the above message.
I have flashed and bootloader-unlocked 7 xperias before.Indians as well as AT&T ones without a problem.
Today my friend gave me another one for updating. It was on 1.6.Lucklily it was bought in India itself so i used PC companion to update to 2.3.3.
Was able to root as well as install xrecovery via flashtool.
Than when i tried to unlock bootloader the qsd8250_semc.cmd file ran but gave an error something like cant find userdate partition or something.
than tried to flash doomlords bootmanager...and got the same error!!
didnt find a solution yet

Mine is a Rogers X10a. I had it running a generic 2.3.3 rom, and rooted.
Worked great for about a month, then started experiencing random reboots.
Tried to install the Wolf custom gaming rom, without unlocking the bootloader (because I didn't read first), and that's where my main issues started.

How do you unlock the boatloader, when one of the steps is to flash with the azuru rom? I try to do the downgrade kernel with flashtool, and I get the above message.

So right now, is the bootloader unlocked or is it still locked? If it's locked, see the link I posted above and follow the instructions.
You flash ROMs through recovery (generally xRecovery or CWM-based recovery for some ROMs), not through the flashtool. The flashtool is only for flashing things like kernel and firmware generally.

Yes bootloader is locked.
Here is the s1tool output:

And I cannot unlock the bootloader from the steps in the link you mention.
The first step is: flash the azuzu kernel downgrade ftf with flashtool
I cannot, because I get the error " ERROR - Error flashing. Aborted"
This is where I am stuck.
Ok, I've searched and searched to no avail and the problem i am having is that i when i connect my phone it is automatically in flash mode without holding the back button . When i plug the phone into the usb the LED light stays solid green even when disconnecting from the pc at times.... if i have SEUS running when i first connect to the pc it is detected in flash mode, but every time i try to recover/update it always fails, and i am having the same problem in flashtool (v0.2.9.1) nor can i access xrecovery. The battery isn't the issue i have 2 extra batteries with a wall charger so power hasn't been the issue. I've looked at a JTag for it cause it seem like its probably out for the count but for that kind of money i might as well buy a new phone. Can someone help me please if they can??
Also...If i tap the power on button it only flashes the green led once without it being connected and if i hold the power button it flashes the green led light and vibrates a little harder than it normally would when it tries to power up.
Did you try reseting the id ports? and reinstalling the ggsemc drivers?
if not go to the sonyericsson folder,in all programs, also if you cant remove the drivers,go to system32/drivers and search for ggsemc.sys and delete it. Reboot and try to install again.
Also you have to have the latest flashtool, and pc companion.
What OS is in your pc/laptop???
I'm runnning Windows 7 64-bit on a desktop, everything is up to date, and i'm running as administrator on the programs though i didn't find that driver you mentioned in either folders. i did however uninstall the id it had it as from device manager and had it reinstall. I've also tried running windows in debugging mode.
Ok i just tried the newest flashtool, and it sees it when i connect but soon as it sees it for some reason it disconnects immediately apparently because it doesnt see the phone afterward. ill try getting another usb cord just in case thats the problem, at the same time though im wondering why its stuck in flash mode???
ok this is what i get everytime i use flashtool.

Try to update it again.. Is your PC Companion detecting the phone?
like, does it say,a new firmware has been released?
This probably happened because the process got aborted.. No need to worry..

Yes i've tried like several times already, on pc companion and SEUS but I always encountered an error during the repair process, it says try again with full batt (actually its battery full when I start repairing the phone), I dont know whats wrong, the good thing is pc companion is able to detect my phone (sony ericsson phone connected), generally but not specifically (sony ericsson st18i).
Any idea about my dead phone?? Pls HELP!thank you!
My phone doesnt charge anymore so i had to charge my batt on a separate charger,
Have you even tried flashtool? Download the .62 firmware and flash it that way

hye there ithink that you ray got bricked here the solution
This will fix your unlocked Phones which got bricked through OTA update and are dead now!
Please download this package:
Code:
h.t.t.p:/./w.w.w.multiupload.com/Q103V01CV1
mirror: h..t.tp:/./filetram.c.o.m/multiupload/flashtool-0-9-1-fotaunbrick-exe-8817236590
[please remove the dot]
Let it extract to a destination of your choice.
After that run Flashtool.exe.
Now hit the button FLASH and select the package which is included.
Follow the steps and connect your phone in flashmode. This is the same mode Pc Companion and SEUS uses to flash your phone to newer firmare (Indicated by green LED), if you got BLUE LED you are in the wrong mode!
Flashtool will now detect your phone and start the repair.
After all is done your phone should be up and running again.
hope it works... pls update it if working.. thanksss
Try Wotan their flash tool might be able to fix your phone
tnx everyone!you were such a big help!
Dear All,
I beg your help for solving the following problem (already browsed for similar topics, no luck).
Here a brief history of the mess I have been doing:
I had installed Cyanogenmod (Worked)
I had flashed back a Stock ROM (ST15i_4.0.A.2.368__GENERIC_(1244-2098).ftf) (Worked)
Even though I knew that was not a good idea, I updated the software (as requested by android) (Bricked)
I have tried to re-flash using the same Stock ROM has worked before, with the result you can read below.

The Symptoms are the following:
Device not booting, when pressing the power button the phone vibrates for one second, nothing happens. The green light blinks.
When connecting the phone to the PC, it immediately starts the flashmode
When trying to connect it in fastboot mode (blue light) nothing happens. After releasing the up volume button, the phone connects in flashmode
When trying to use PC Companion, I get a window asking for unplugging the phone, remove the battery, insert the battery again and reboot. It does not reboot
When being connected with the PC, the phone exits and reenters the the flashmode each 1 minute.
I know I am just the N-th noob asking for help, but any hint is highly appreciated!

Luca

Hey Someguyfromhell,
you made my day, my mobile phone is alive again
There is still one question, is there a solution to allow the updates to be installed again? Maybe by relock the bootloader or using the PC Companion?
Thanks a lot again!
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=16659481&postcount=33 and look in the post for D) Relocking.
Seems, that if you used test point method, you can also relock via S1tool.
After that you can reflash stock firmware.
Almost same symptoms
Hi, I also think I've bricked my st15i.
What I've done:
-Unlocked bootloader
-Rooted
-Flashed custom rom
-Everything was working
Then with no reason, the phone started rebooting. It managed to boot and after 10sec - 1min it restarted again.
To solve this I:
- flashed stock rom and it stopped rebooting but as soon as I plugged it off the usb it rebooted and could not boot (it was looping sony logo and back).
- flashed other stock firmware, the same results
- now when connecting it to pc it goes directly to flashmode
- I can enter fastboot mode as well
- When pressing power button green led blinks
- tried flashing stock firmware again and then both the xperia_relock_bootloader.ftf and Xperia 2011 Range_FreeXperia_ALL.ftf with no results
- when connected to pc it goes only to flashmode (Can't make it to start)
- when pluged in the socket it starts looping up to sony logo
- when not pluged at all when I press power button, green led blinks
I hope you can make any sense out of this because I can't, and I've been trying solutions the past 36hours!!
Please...help!!
Hello,
I've tried to install a custom rom ([ROM] SE X10i MM TEAM MiUI 2.3.30 ML), but after installing, the phone didn't boot, stucks at SE logo. I can't start xRecovery, and if I try to start in recovery/flash mode, the green led appears, my computer recognizes it, then after 1-2 secs it disappears and loses the USB connection, so I can't start in recovery mode! And the SE PC Companion restore mode don't works.
Sorry for the bad english.
What does the pc companion say?. Have you tried to reflash your x10 with flashtool?
Sent from X10
Use this tool forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1415600
I can't use flashtool, because I can't start my phone in recovery/flash mode. I push the back button, then plug in the usb cable, the green light appears, the flashtool recognizes the phone, after 1-2 secs the green light disappear and the phone loses the USB connection, and the flash tool says "Error flashing aborted.".
The PC comp. can't download the update and it says that I have to visit the support site.
I did factory reset and formatted all the caches before installing the rom.
So, I was able to start it in recovery mode. But the PC companion still not working. When I try to flash with FlashTool, i get this:

If you still want to have a custom ROM installed, make sure folders: system, data, cache & sdcard are mounted in xR - boot into xR, choose Partition Tools, mount all the folders. Then install the ROM.
Hope that will help you.
Greetings
Ohh, thank you very much, it worked!
