Is there any way to disable the haptic feedback on the bottom four soft keys. I hate getting that vibration whenever I use them.
+1 I also dislike the vibration but cannot find a setting to disable it.

did u get any solution please share with me ....
@aaurnab
Check the development forum. There is a thread explaining how to accomplish this.
There's actually 2 threads ATM about this. One disabling it through the framework-res.apk and one through the android.policy.jar file. So far only the first one has worked for me.

can you give the link of framework-res.apk ...
it's quite simple guys without getting too tech.
2 places to look:
1. Sound settings - disable Heptic feedback
2. Input settings - disable vibration
Did it for me.

Both these settings are not available in Atrix
Turn off haptic feedback on softkeys
Hi all, had my atrix (rooted) nearly a week now on Orange UK and one of the most annoying things for me was the haptic feedback on the soft keys, i couldn't find a setting in my phone to turn them off, so i scoured this forum looking for ways to do it, and it looked like the only way was to alter the framework which i'm not very comfortable in doing. So i went through the android market and came across this amazing app called VIBRAFIX ( must be rooted ) which allows you to turn the haptic feedback on the soft keys off, but also gives you the option of keeping vibrate on for your calls, sms and alarm clock. Hopefully this will save a me a bit of juice in my battery aswell.

Actually they ARE available in the SETTINGS->SOUND->DISABLE HAPTIC FEEDBACK Menu..... take a few seconds to look with your eyes not your mouth!!!

Since I cant post on the original dev thread:
the torchlight has a bug:
- works only once
- have to reboot to be able to use it again after it is turned off
reproduce:
- use torchlight by turning on (powerbutton hold and use funciton; has to be enabled in rom config)
- turn off
- try turning on again; does not work
- works again after reboot
mby someone can reproduce and confirm the bug;
it is the only issue I am having with the rom; no freezes everything is stable
this seems like missing reset of bool allow_on = true ;P
+1
But for me,i don't have to reboot.
turn on the light one time work.turn off
If i want to return on dont work.
But if i unlock and relock the phone. It work
Let the phone lock itself don't work
I'll have to unlock and lock him manually
I cannot even get the 14.04 version to run!
I had 10.04 and tried upgrading, without wiping, with wiping, etc. I even tried using different kernels, thinking that maybe there was a compatibility issue there but each time the boot stopped showing the pink frozen unicorn...

very well then it is a genuine bug, since I am sure you should be able to turn the torchlight on and off as you please and not go into automatic lock to be able to turn it back an
Don't know
I just test for feedback.
For me i enable this option in statusbar options and it works fine.
Hydrogen ROM is weak, and had too many problems to call it a full ICS ROM.
No External SD access, bad battery life unless you monitor everything for 3 days, and now bugs with simple things. I wish it worked, I loved what I saw when I was on it, but its just too janky for my liking.

Have you tried to go onto the Settings and configuring the touchlight there? Try searching the thread, people have been posting about this issue, maybe the answer is in the thread.
Hi everyone!
Short question. I've got a galaxy s3, so far a great phone!
Vibrate and haptic feedback works when i press the back or menu button. But i cannot seem to get it to work when i touch the screen. i.e. touching an icon on the screen does not create the haptic feedback that i'm used to.
Is this a normal thing or an error/bug?
Uhm you can turn on this function
Yeah..you mean the haptic option under settings - sound?
It enables the haptic feedback for the back and menu button. But not the touches on the screen itself.
that function will be implemented into roms and anyways its not needed it just sucks battery
So, short answer is that it's not a default option on the galaxy?
It's been a long time since i've had a stock rom so i don't know any better

Same Issue(Resolved)
Well i had the same issue and the solution was pretty simple for me. Turn off power saving mode.
same problem but nothing seems to work
ok I have the same problem; haptic feedback not working and neither is vibrating on notifications, some vibrations working. The problem showed up like 1 week ago, without having installed anything special that day (can't remember if I installed anything at all that day).
My device (sgs3 I9300) was when the problem appeared on Paranoid android 3+, now it's on some cyanogenmod 10.1 nightly build.
what i've tried: going through all the settings, sound manager, turning off all vibrations the rebooting then turning them all on then rebooting again, changing rom (incl. factory reset of course), reading all kinds of threads about such problems.
Hi guys. I have a strange issue with haptic feedback on my i9300. It is rooted on stock rom. Haptic feedback was working great. I had it at half intensity and all of a sudden today it got really weak. I had to set it at max intensity and it still barely vibrates on touchkeys.... I dont have power saving on. Didn't change any setting before it started doing this. Any clues?
factory reset and reflash stock rom, if it doesn't help then send it in
I was hoping to avoid factory reset or flashing rom :/ any other way?
no, not possible to figure out the cause of the problem over the internet
haptic feedback

There are a few settings that integrate haptic feeback
messages
system
email
They are all different. so even if you disable feedback in system, the keyboard will still have feedback. You'll need to disable it in there too..
also in messages. Its annoying but mandatory
