Hi guys. I have a strange issue with haptic feedback on my i9300. It is rooted on stock rom. Haptic feedback was working great. I had it at half intensity and all of a sudden today it got really weak. I had to set it at max intensity and it still barely vibrates on touchkeys.... I dont have power saving on. Didn't change any setting before it started doing this. Any clues?
factory reset and reflash stock rom, if it doesn't help then send it in
I was hoping to avoid factory reset or flashing rom :/ any other way?
no, not possible to figure out the cause of the problem over the internet
haptic feedback

I had this issue every now and again - particularly after installing a certain twitter client. It seemed to clear itself largely. After uninstalling the app I havent had it since.

Hi all,
as the title says...is there any way of turning off / disabling the vibration that happens to tell you your phone is off.?
it's really annoying
running Omega ICS v10 - XWKL1
TIA..

Seriously ? How many times do you shutdown your phone per hour ?
I do not know of such mod and I don't believe that someone else thought to remove it ...

there was no need to be nasty, if you didn't know, just say you don't know.
@blueseeker I do it once per day when I go to bed and it's a pointless vibrate so just wondered if I'd missed a setting or if anyone had a script that would/could disable it..
But thanks for your response
@theguydan thanks for the criticism of the pointlessness of blueseekers comment

I don't think there is because it isn't normally seen as a big issue and can be useful (i.e. if you think your phone is bricked or there is a boot loop but it vibrates). Sorry I couldn't help more, it may depend on the rom you use (stock rom has a sound but Cyanogenmod doesn't).
Actually my i9000 doesn't vibrate after shutting it down !! Is it normal ??
It just stopped doing it after flashing a JVT !!
thanks
Prevent Samsun Galaxy S2 or S11 vibrating on shutdown
I've found a way of prevent the annoying shutdown vibration, but it involves stopping all vibrating alerts (I think).
Go to settings, sound, Haptic feedback and turn on the Haptic feedback (if it is not already), then go to vibration intensity (just below) and reduce the sensitivity to zero. Hey presto no more annoying vibration on shut down or indeed annoying vibration at any time .
as Zakarath said... I posted a similar solution just yesterday. Don't forget to use the search before you post. This has already been answered a couple of times.

I searched and couldn't find any one else posting this question. I just got the Note last night. I've used Go SMS pro for a long time and want to stick with it. Everything set up fine except the notification doesn't vibrate. I sent them a request but I doubt I'll hear back.
I still have my tbolt and double checked all vibration settings and it still doesn't work. Has anyone had this problem and fixed it?
Thanks

Same issue here. When I set my phone to vibration mode via widget locker, I don't get vibration notification. Fix will be appreciated!
Are you saying you get vibrations at other times?
I just set the phone to silent mode and then it works....hmmm that doesn't make sense. I'm I missing something?
Actually the only sounds I like are vibrations for texts(no tone), phone calls and my alarm. So I would be good if I could hear the phone and the alarm
Ok this is weird.
In silent mode, if I adjust the haptic vibration it determines how much it vibrates in Go sms, even if I have haptic feedback turned off. Notification vibration doesn't effect the gosms notification vibration afaict
So I uncheck silent mode and check haptic feedback. Nope doesn't work...So does this happen to others with Go SMS pro? I'm also using Go Launcher if that matters.
I wasn't getting much help because this was probably an erroneous problem. I think the issue was restoring my settings that I had saved from my previous phone.
I decided to just uninstall/reinstall and do the settings manually.
Works fine now....
Makes we wonder about other settings and backups I restored...
Similar issue
Go SMS vibrates for notifications, but it's not as intense as the stock messaginf app. I've checked all my settings...everything checks out, but it's hardly noticeable in my pocket. I've tried reinstalling it, but it has the same results.

I have inverse issue. I am unable to turn OFF the vibration. Permissions work all over the system except the SMS notification in Go SMS. It won't stop vibrating in any mode and in any case. I have tried all apps but unable to fix it.
BTW, I have sky vega 760S, it is rooted but I am unable to install CWM or any custom recovery. If I could flash a custom ROM, like I had CM10 in my previous 760, this issue had been gone.
Hi everyone!
Short question. I've got a galaxy s3, so far a great phone!
Vibrate and haptic feedback works when i press the back or menu button. But i cannot seem to get it to work when i touch the screen. i.e. touching an icon on the screen does not create the haptic feedback that i'm used to.
Is this a normal thing or an error/bug?
Uhm you can turn on this function
Yeah..you mean the haptic option under settings - sound?
It enables the haptic feedback for the back and menu button. But not the touches on the screen itself.
that function will be implemented into roms and anyways its not needed it just sucks battery
So, short answer is that it's not a default option on the galaxy?
It's been a long time since i've had a stock rom so i don't know any better

Same Issue(Resolved)
Well i had the same issue and the solution was pretty simple for me. Turn off power saving mode.
same problem but nothing seems to work
ok I have the same problem; haptic feedback not working and neither is vibrating on notifications, some vibrations working. The problem showed up like 1 week ago, without having installed anything special that day (can't remember if I installed anything at all that day).
My device (sgs3 I9300) was when the problem appeared on Paranoid android 3+, now it's on some cyanogenmod 10.1 nightly build.
what i've tried: going through all the settings, sound manager, turning off all vibrations the rebooting then turning them all on then rebooting again, changing rom (incl. factory reset of course), reading all kinds of threads about such problems.
Firstly Hi,
Ive been using my s2 for a while and the vibration was working just fine. But recently the vibration intensity of the phone dropped to a very low rate. The settings are set to 100%. So is this a hardware issue then? Any way to how to fix it?
Thanks

first try 2 put things properly by mentioning the Rom, kernel etc ur currently into in ur signature so that people who r ready to help will find easy to provide solutions based on that info
i just upgraded to stock jb but i just found that vibration doesn't work with notifications mostly when in vibration mode that's number one and i noticed that battery drains much faster than the ics is these normal or not srry i am noob..... so any help would be appreciated
1) Vibration: adjust the settings. It works, but you have to set it accordingly
2) Batt. drain: that is really a problem with the JB ROMs and everyone - myself included - has been complaining about it. Let's just wait and see if there are updates to the ROMs in a near future. So solution so far
i got the sound and vibration checked in setting but still don't get any vibration when i get a message in vibration mode
I managed to fix the vib problem, vibration was disabled in messaging
