Version 1.1 adds SIP/international layout support.
Turns your phone into a regular USB HID Keyboard you can use with your computer, PS3, Wii, XBOX360, etc...
edit - xbox360/ps3/wii functionality will be added in next release.
Tested on the HTC Touch Pro CDMA, should work with most WM 5/6 devices...
Hello,
wow, thats a great software!
Two things I noticed:
- It uses a qwerty-keyboard by default, not the one you have on your Touch Pro (German Layout - QWERTZ)
- Win Key does not work
Best Regards
no2chem does it once again
This looks amazing!
Can anyone confirm it working on an HTC Kaiser or with a Mac? I cannot get mine to function :/
I've just tried my luck with my Touch HD and a Vista 64-Bit PC and encountered a few problems:
1. The WIN key doesn't work
2. The Touch HD doesn't have a hardware keyboard and what I type with my softkeyboard doesn't appear in the active window on my PC

If I recall correctly, the HTC Kaiser USB stack is strange; It doesn't even support USB Mass Storage function.. Perhaps Kaiser USB Function stack needs an update...

Do the Function (F1, Fx..) keys work? I'll see if there's a way to hook into the software keyboard.

Ok, I'll take another look at the winkey and how to localize the layout... Question though, is your computer set to use german layout as well?
Yep, both - TouchPro and my Computer - are using german qwertz layout.
Thanks for looking into that!
Wow
Incredible work no2chem. I hope you can enjoy a beer or two 95M66551P0347163L
Anyone confirm it is working with the PS3. That's were I really need it!!
Thanks
The link doesn't seem to be working at the moment (FF3, IE8 & GC).
No2chem,
Your sight seems to be down??
His sight seems to be down atm
doesnt seem to be working on my diamond. Only the alt ctrl del seems to work.
Can this work through Bluetooth? That would be even better!

same here, the buttons that come with the program works but not the on screen keyboard.
Tested with diamond running might rom 4.7 on vista and XP. I assumed it wouldn't work on a PS3 as well.
I'll wait for an update, thanks no2chem!
Nice work. Now for the question. Any chance of a bluetooth version?
It worked with my laptop. However, I had to reset it because the laptop keyboard did not work after plugging in my phone and using nueUSBkeyboard.
I also checked my 360 and it did not work at all.
Anything I can do to stop my laptop from not working and have it also work with my 360? Thanks!
Great
Great idea but i cant install it on my SonyEricsson X1.
Help needed!
Love the idea for this, and it worked pretty nicely on my Touch Pro The only issue I had was that the space bar registers as Alt and some other key (forgot now) was coming up as F1.
I expected it to fail on Kaiser, but it actually worked on first try ! (build 21032)
I have some feedback after a few tests :
- WinKey button on screen does not work
- Alt-tab feature cycles on my XP
- Layout is QWERTY instead of AZERTY and i can't find the letter 'M'
- Slower than remote control.
- Spacebar / Enter activates the button with focus on screen as well as sending keypress to the computer. Could be quickly fixed with a dummy button on screen that grabs focus all the time.
Other than that, it's a great piece of software ! It will come in handy for those servers i have at work without keyboard
I am not sure how many of you out there share the same desire to have a thin/small wireless keyboard to go along with your beloved GTablet. I have a netbook carrying bag that barely fits the dimensions of the Gtab and I wanted a keyboard that matches that width to fit in the bag. The apple wireless keyboard is exactly 11 inches wide and the Gtab is 10.5, close enough in my case.
I am running TNT Lite 4.4.0 and decided to buy and connect the bluetooth keyboard with little initial success. I am not an android developer, but don't give up easily and am happy to report that I finally got it to work. Here is how:
1) Download free app called Bluetooth Keyboard Easyconnect
2) Turn on bluetooth
3) Turn on Apple keyboard
4) Scan for bluetooth devices on GTab
5) Pair to Apple Keyboard after it is discovered
6) Enter a pin into your GTab, (ex. 0000) and then OK.
7) Quickly, while it is trying to connect, enter the same pin into the Apple Keyboard and press Return. They will now be "paired but not connected"
8) Open Bluetooth Keyboard Easyconnect and it will take care of the connecting part.
Hope this helps someone.
Absolutely. I futzed for 30 minutes before giving up yesterday, I could get it paired but not connected. Thanks for the info!
I was able to connect a Logitech DiNovo mini using this info. The touch pad worked too but was erratic.
Are you able to get the greater than/less than symbols (< >) to work? I have a bluetooth palm keyboard and can't seem to get these characters to come up. Instead it gives me a semi-colon and colon.
opnscraddict,
I hadn't tried that one yet, but you are right. < and > don't seem to be working. Everything else I tried works though. Hmmm, maybe one of the paid keyboard apps would provide a key re-mapping functionality. I think I can live with it the way it is though, and use the onscreen keyboard when necessary for those two characters.
Works for Bluetooth mouse
I've also used EasyConnect to get my bluetooth mouse working. I was in the same situation with my mouse as the keyboard - it would pair but not connect.
I'm working on replacing my school laptop with my GTab and I need those keys for my C++ class. I found a thread on how to customize the key mapping, I'll try it when I get home today. Link
Does your bluetooth keyboard reconnect automatically when you turn on bluetooth without any interaction? I couldn't get mine to connect again after the first time.

I think you are going to regret that decision.
Right, I'm not entirely sure on how feasible it is. However, the majority of my time on my school laptop is spent on Facebook, Onenote and Visual Studio. The battery life and weight advantages of the Gtab make it an attractive replacement.
I can confirm that by following the instructions that I linked to in my previous post I was able to remap the keys to enable the greater than and less than signs.
Huh?

How are you going to install Visual Studio on the gTab?
I am going to access my workstation at home through rdp. I've tested the scaling and latency and it is pretty seamless. I also considered trying to run Ubuntu through VNC locally on the tablet and just using a linux IDE. With this keyboard workign 100%, this seems in the realm of possibility now.
Ah... gotcha. I use LogMeIn Ignition to access my laptop from my gTab. I used to have to carry that laptop around on trips and now I just take my gTab.
finally gave up
I tried for a whole half a day to get my Apple wireless keyboard to work. I'm using Vegan.
I finally gave up when I just plugged my full sized Dell keyboard in, and it worked like a charm without any issues at all. I'm just going to go hunt for a mini USB keyboard and I will be more than satisfied with that.

Purchased a Targus Bluetooth Keyboard for iPad (yea I know it said iPad) Model AKB32US from OfficeDepot today. Probably taking it back tomorrow but it is such a nice looking and sized Bluetooth keyboard.
Attempted to sync it with Viewsonic Gtab (TNT ROM) and Archos 101 (Stock Rom) with no luck. I know I need a APK to go along with the keyboard but I needed to try anyway.
Did some searching but the Google-Foo was weak today. Left a message at Targus.com but don't really expect an answer. Tried the Android Bluetooth Driver from the My Gear area on all settings as well.
Anyone had any success stories on Bluetooth keyboards and Gtab?
There are several threads that discuss bluetooth keyboards and different ROMs on the gTab.
Do a search in the Market for an app called Bluetooth Keyboard Easyconnect. It seems to have the most success of making connections for keyboards to the gTab.
Anyone else find it a bit ridiculous that you need an apk helper program to get almost any bluetooth device working with the gtab?
I've had some success with this keyboard/gTab combination. I was running into problems with entering the passphrase. My gTab kept asking me to enter the passphrase. It suggested 000 or 1234 and neither appeared to work. I was able to connect the keyboard to my Galaxy S and it seemed to work fine. When connecting that one though it prompted me on my phone to type a passphrase on the keyboard rather than the phone. Since it (the passphrase) was different everytime I assume it was randomly generated on my phone and sent to the keyboard for authentication. On my gTab it wasn't like that. It prompted me for the passphrase on my tablet and didn't connect. I read on another forum that someone was able to connect by typing the 0000 on their gTab then typing 0000 on the keyboard. It connected for me. Good, now I don't have to return it.
Since I'm not sure which, if any, did it for me. Here's the things I loaded to try and get it to work:
1. First tried to to a straight connect. No luck.
2. Loaded Bluetooth Keyboard Easy connect. (In market). No luck.
3. Loaded Blueinput. (In market also). No luck.
4. Tried the 0000 input on gTab then again directly afterwards on the keyboard. Voila! Success!
5. Uninstalled Blueinput. Rebooted, still working.
6. Uninstalled Bluetooth Keyboard Easy connect. Rebooted, still working.
I am running the VEGAn-7.0.0-RC1-Harmony ROM. (which is absolutley fantastic by the way...)
Much luck to you all.

Does this need to be done every time? Or does it remember after the initial pair?
I just got the Targus keyboard working with Honeycomb on the G-Tablet. This is the fastrack version and sems to be working pretty well. No driver needed

Just loaded this Keyboard on my Galaxy Note 10 inch. Works nicely. Nothing required to install.
I've been running CM7 alpha 2.1 on my TouchPads since it was released. It's been amazingly stable for something labeled as an alpha! Virtually all of the apps from my Nook Color Titanium Backup restored and work well on the TouchPad, but there are two I'd used frequently that aren't working. I figured I'd ask here in case anyone might have a suggested fix/workaround.
First off, Scrabble. I know this game's display targets phones, but on my Nook Color it ran fine full screen after I unchecked Compatibility Mode in Spare Parts. On the TouchPad the screen is split in two with the top half (portrait orientation only) showing the Scrabble screen but replicated horizontally several times, and the bottom half a bunch of garbled pixels. I've tried toggling Compatibility Mode and rebooting a few times, but nothing's helped.
And now, Cisco AnyConnect. This VPN client works fine on the Nook Color, but when I start a VPN session on the TouchPad, it just hangs trying to connect. I don't know if perhaps the TouchPad's kernel is missing a key module (tun?) and the VPN client isn't properly detecting/reporting that, or perhaps it's a lower level issue than that.
Thoughts on either? Thanks!
I have the same problem with Scrabble. Has anyone come up with a fix yet??
I'm running the CM7 3.5 alpha..
I also have this problem with Scrabble, as well as with Let's Golf 3 HD.
Anyconnect doesn't work here as well. Prompts me for username and password, but never connects.
Well I tried it with MIUI and its the same.. must be a resolution thing... We'll have to wait for a better build of CM7 or maybe CM9 will handle it better considering its a tablet and phone OS..
I've been looking for a way to control my mouse and keyboard on my TF300, and have had little to no luck finding anything that works correctly.
I run Synergy for my PCs to switch control between PCs, but have not been able to effectively replicate this using any software packages.
So far I've tried:
1. Synergy for Android Beta .003
The problem with this application is that it is erratic, unstable, and the mouse hardly works (you can see the cursor if you really look for it, but it's usually shoved in the top 5 pixels of the screen). Moving the mouse anywhere usually kicks you back to the desktop on your PC.
2. ShareKM
Same problem as Synergy, only without the erratic part. Synergy will actually lock up your table by sticking the cursor on the first item in each list so you can access nothing. This problem is not present in ShareKM, but the mouse issue is.
3. TakeControl
Same issue as ShareKM
Does anyone know of an app solution that actually works for this tablet?
