After installing the alpha version of CM7 last night I noticed that my version is 2.3.7 , Mod version CyanogenMOD-7.1.0-RC1-tenderloin-KANG, Kernel version 2.6.35-palm-tenderloin [email protected]#1, Build #GRJ90. I thought the version was supposed to be 2.3.5. How did I get this version from the download/instruction page.
It just is what its called..
most people downloaded the update-cm-7.1.0-tenderloin-a1-fullofbugs.zip. Not sure where you got a RC-1 from. Where did you download from?
[EDIT] Seems that some dutch site is sending around a different version?? hmm

Are you sure there is a difference?
Android version in last CM7 builds is supposed to be 2.3.7. Dunno where you got RC1 stuff tho
I have rc1 as well
2.3.7 is the latest version of Android. It was included in the latest nightly builds, so it made it into the Touchpad build.

I have installed the custom ROM Cyanogen CM7.0 RC4 v014 Gingerbread 2.3.3 but I can't get the radio up and running. "Unknown" baseband version is the message, so it seems like have the wrong baseband version. The thread about this ROM states the right baseband version is included in the zip file. I can't find it inspecting the RAR file, so I assumed it is included in the ROM as such and the baseband will be flashed together with the ROM. Is this the case?
I have tried several full wipes and reboots but nothing helps. I ROM starts OK but no signal.
I can answer my own question. I flashed the 52 baseband version and by this the radio was on again. My taking from this is the baseband ROM is not included in the Cyanogen v14 distribution.....
did u flash on 2.0.52? Because that's I think the only x.x.52 Baseband version that exists for x10i... also wanted to use that ROM, but my baseband (2.1.54) is not supported.....
BTW: is there any difference between 2.0.xx and 2.1.xx?
Yes, I used 2.0.52. For a moment I started to think about if there is a 2.1.52, but it looks like SE just have one consecutive series of ROM, and there is just one 52 version 2.0.52.
The baseband used to be included in the .zip but J didn't include it for the last version or two. I guess he still hasn't changed the OP to tell people to get the baseband from a different thread in the dev section.
ab Ok... would be usefull, to add this, so dumb ppl like me won't try to install it with 2.1.54. XD
Will soon flash on 52 and when cam-issues are fixed, i'll get my first ROM XD
Sent from my X10i using XDA App
could someone pls tell me the difference, i am unsure about flashing this rom that just started i just want to know the changes please nd thankyou
One of the biggest differences is that CM 7.1.0 is based on Android 2.3.4 and CM 7.0.3 is based on Android 2.3.3 (or 2.3.2, not sure). The differences aren't that big, but it does mean that you MUST do a clean install when upgrading to 7.1.0. If you don't want to go through that process, then there's no rush to upgrade.
Also keep in mind this is only the first release candidate, not the final 7.1.0 version.
There's a changelog if you scroll down a bit on this page: https://github.com/CyanogenMod/android_vendor_cyanogen/blob/gingerbread/CHANGELOG.mkdn
Is there any new firmware of Android 2.3 for G8?
There was never an official 2.3 firmware, so there can't be a new one.
The only ROM that is based on 2.3.4 is the CM7, that still is in alpha.

And we should be lucky that we have someony like Bubu, who created the whole port alone
Why no developer working on MIUI Rom based on Gingerbread 2.3.7 since Android 4.0 based roms still not fully working due absence of drivers.Such as the MIUI 2.4 ,it is stable than ics and MIUI V4.
Because if you look in the developer forums, there is no 2.3.7 release for our device. Highest and most recent version of android is 2.3.5 Gingerbread.
Besides that, we have no direct kernel access, so we currently can't have a full ICS experience.
Because upstream MIUI has moved on from CM7 and the CM9 we have is definitely stable enough to use.
If you want one, make one! That's what I did.

Cool !!But I never make a rom .Where I can learn this ??? And thank you for your miui 2.7.20
Currently i have VK ROM (based on 4.1.2 leak) but got tired of those samsung based ROMs and choose to go back to AOKP/AOSP ROMs like CM 10.
Ive seen that there is a "regular" version and another one named nightly. whats the difference between the two?which one is more stable/giving better battery life?
also,if you have it i would like to recommand me on speciefic version (like, the build's release date) and with which kernel it worked better.
(recommanding other combination of ROMs and kernel will be good as well)
thank you! :good:

By "regular" i think you are referring to "stable" releases, as it implies stable releases are having the lowest or no bugs in the entire release cycle. The nightlies are having high chance of major bugs and issues and is not recommended for daily use.

Also I recommend the stable version for downloading from the rom download list
There are two 7.2.0(Gingerbread) and 9.1.0(Ice Cream Sandwich) as stable releases.
There are several good roms based on CM10 (which currently has only nightlies) like ReVolt, Resurrection Remix(which are stable).
Using GT - I9100
I thank those who give helpful comments
I expect the same from others.
