Has anyone had an issue with the newest binaries with the latest superuser AP? When I updated the binaries, I lost root permissions even though it shows permission is granted.programs requiring root access will not work. If I use the old binaries aps work correctly. The only annoyance is the constant reminder that there is an update to the binaries available. Any fix?
I had that problem a few days ago.
Over the course of a few days, I received 2 update notifications of Superuser app from Android Market. The 2nd update fixes the problem.
I suggest you check "My Apps" in Android Market for an app update
goto the Market & uninstall the updates. 3.05 is the one causing the force closes. Revert back to 3.02. You can also search for the 3.02 version & goto cwm and flash 3.02. that will fix the problems saying you don't have root. I had that problem on my HTC Thunderbolt also. www.teambamf.net had this solution in one of their threads.

I'll try that and report back.
Thanks
I rolled back the update and I am no longer told the binary needs an update...although that does make me nervous about other stuff...

Sup guys. This place seems a little dead without any new rom releases lol. Just went to the market to check for some new apps and updates and saw that superuser was available for update.
Kinda weird but I did it and opened the new app. It has a slightly different interface, something like the new market except without the lags. Then it told me that I had to do some updates and I just allowed it blah blah blah. It installed some new software and a custom busybox.
I find that the v6 supercharger works better with this busybox and the other new root stuff lol.
Go check it out!

I upgraded to 3.0 and saw all kinds of problems. Couldn't update the binaries for some reason and lost all permissions and could get su access back. Reverted in TB to okd su and ut was fine. Since then chains updated it again and everything works fine now. Just an fyi.

Thanks

Hey, since we have these new ROMs going and there was some issues before with the Superuser.apk updating the binaries, Chains has created and update fix in the market also. You update the superuser app and then it either works or says the binary didn't update or the app itself couldn't update. Just go to the Update Fix app install and run it and then try to reinstall the Superuser.apk.
If you are flashing in between ROMs daily then I wouldn't worry about it until you settle on one, but if you do find one you like and want to run it for some time, then you'll probably have to eventually update it and this is how.

You can also get the latest as an update.zip at AndroidSU.com
Is anyone else having superuser issues? All of a sudden it it is saying I dont have superuser or root access.
There are some issues with superuser. Which version of SU do you have? I believe the most up to date version is 3.0.4 or something to that effect. I believe that if you get the newest version it should fix your issues as the description on market says that it has fixed the issues saying that you have an outdated binary.
I have been using Infected Rom Eternity. My SU access was fine until I flashed the most recent update of their ROM. When I flashed it, my SU access broke. So when I looked into it, I saw that they had a superuser fix to downlad and flash. Once I flashed that fix, it worked again. Then about a day later I saw that there was a market update for superuser, which said that it corrected the problems people were having.
First, try to update SU. If not, look for the Superuser fix to download and flash over on the Infected Rom Eternity thread in development. good luck.
Mine force closes on every root
Via My HTC Evo 3D On The Now Network From Sprint.
I fixed my super user issues by going to manage apps, finding superuser, force stop, clear data, then uninstall updates. After I did that I've had 0 problems with su

Yeah clearing data and uninstalling it worked for me when it kept force closing

Fix
I can also confirm (using the InfectedRom) That uninstalling updates resolves the issue.
Is there a widget, or a setting to turn off Automatic Application updating without affecting anything else ?
This would be quite beneficial.
That seemed to work......thank u. I am using the viper rom now do u guys kniw of any rom or where i could get a good wifi tether for 3/4g that is config for the evo 3d?
@Mike - Bear me to it. That's what
I did too and it worked perfect.
I personally use Clean ROM DE and wifi tether works for me

Odd, Force stop is grayed out for me, and just clearing data and/or uninstalling updates doesn't work. Knew I should have done a Nandroid more recently...

For some people just force closing and clearing the data works but for others it doesnt...you just need to flash the su you used when u rooted the phone and that is going to fix the issue...then if u want later on u can update to the new su...

I had to do the same thing. It wouldn't let me roll back the update via the market or through the settings menu. Without root, I couldn't run Titanium to restore the version I had backed up, so I had to reflash the rom.
If anyone has to reflash the rom, make sure you don't have "automatic updates" checked off when in the market under the superuser app, or it will happen again.
Uninstalling updates, then reflashing the original SU zip through recovery seems to have worked. I tried Kernel Manager, Quick Boot, Wifi Tether, etc...all were able to be granted SU access with no crashes. Not sure I'll ever update SU at this point if I don't run into problems.

For anyone having problems with superuser. Download this version and flash in recovery. Do not let it update or do not update it until all is well again. Just go into recovery, wipe cache, dalvik-cache and flash.
What is up with the last superuser update? it is fc on every app that wants root access, i have cleared data, i have deleted and re-installed it and other apps. Anybody have a download with a older version of it? It has been like this for a few days now and there is still no new update on the market.
I deleted the update. It gave me a number of FCs when I loaded Liquid 2.0. I can not answer directly what is wrong with it.

Please do a search before posting it took me 5 seconds to find this. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1313339 I gave you a helping hand to show how easy it is to solve an issue with out asking the same questions over and over, fc is a known issue with Su and is being addressed.

Hello!
Today I received the Update for Superuser 1.0.2.3 automatically via Google Play.
SGS2 NeatROM Lite 4.6.1 Android-Version 4.1.2
https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...uperuser&hl=de
When starting the app I was asked to install the updated binaries what I immediately did.
At this point I did not receive any error or hint!
I guess that this update wasn't successful
because I do not receive any popup-windows since then:
- Apps which do have root-access already
(which are listed in Superuser!) stay with root-access.
- If I delete an app from the Superuser list I cannot add it again in the future (because Superuser isn't willing to give me a popup-window)
-> it's root-access is gone!
- Fresh installed apps do suffer from this.
(After reinstalling Tasker I experienced this/found out about this
and first thought that Tasker might be the problem...)
Being convinced that the Superuser update just failed
I restored from a nandroid backup.
This time I tried to update the binaries with the recovery-method:
The recovery gives me an error:
The ZIP is damaged or similar...failed...
vfat /dev/block/mmcblk1p1 fstype2=ext4
Now I found this empty folder: root /dev/com.koushikdutta.superuser
which is dated today. (I can probably delete it?)
How shall I now behave and install/update the Superuser binary file
succesfully to the newest version (1.0.2.3)?
So far i do get to see this question on every reboot
Have the same problem. I went to Settings-Apps and uninstalled updates. Now works great
Thanks! It's good to know
At some other place SuperSU was recommended - I'll see what works for me...
I switched to SuperSU now -> works nice
Me too, works very good. How have you done it?

I followed some instructions found somewhere online...
I have a Z2 running 23.4.A.1.264 (5.1.1) rooted. All's well up until today when Sony have deemed it necessary to inform me of an update... To 23.4.A.1.264!!!
I've tried using 'DisableSerivices' and disabling SystemUpdateService in Google Services Framework & Google Play Services - After reboot these are showing 'disabled', but problem persists.
I've tried using 'Autostarts', searched for 'systemupdateservice' and disabled when found under GSF & GPS - As above, all still disabled after reboot, but problem persists.
I've tried disabling 'Show Notification' via Apps>Google Play services - After reboot it is re-enabled.
Any ideas how I can get rid of this annoying system update notification I don't need?
Go to System/priv-App and delete UpdateCenter.
Works for me.
Download Root Uninstaller from google play, allow root and delete System Update https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.jumobile.manager.systemapp

I'll give it a go!
Edit: Removed the APK from the folder. STILL showing the update notification!
I tried the 'Root Uninstaller' and couldn't find 'System Update file.
After a LOT of messing about, I think I've found the culprit.
/data/app/com.sonyericsson.up.updatecenter-1/base.apk
I simply renamed (just in case I needed the file) base.apk to base.old and rebooted. No notification warning as of yet!

Did you make reboot ur phone after delete?
I noticed that when the update is small (this one said it was ~5mb), it will not break root. I just did the update and everything is fine after reboot.

I did wonder this, and it might have been my last option (the nag notification was doing my head in!)
(Still not received any update notifacation after doing my above alteration!)
