[Q] Please help blank white screen huawei U8120 - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

While I was opening the camera app yesterday the screen just turned white, tried using the power button to switch it off and it didn't respond so I had to pull the battery out, when it booted it just stayed white.
Tried recovery mode same result the screen stayed white.
I connected it to the pc using MyPhonExplorer and took a screen shot it showed the normal home screen, so used I it to navigate through the phone by refreshing the screen shots and did a hard rerest that didn't help it stayed white.
The same white screen thing happen 3 weeks ago while I was playing music, that time I just pull the battery out and everything worked again. I'm not sure if its a software or hardware problem and how to fix it.
The phone has a custom rom and I have been using it for the last 4 months with no problems.

sorry to hear. not sure what the problem is but seems to be a problem with the display itself or its connectors. only other way to make sure its not software would be to flash a new rom i suppose

[Q] Xperia X10 won't turn on.

Hi. The phone application was not functioning well and the F/C dialog showed up. I powered off the phone and from that point, the phone won't turn on.
The battery was fully charged before this happened.
When I press the power button, the phone vibrates for half a second, the screen brightens up but does not show anything but a black screen.
I removed SIM and SD cards, removed the battery and performed the above steps but nothing happened.
I also tried to put on the charger to see what's going on. Once I plug the charger, the phone's screen brightens but shows only blank (even without pressing the power button)
When connected to the charger, the green light for charging is on for some minutes, then goes off automatically.
I tried to connect it to the PC, and PC Companion finds the device as usually. It even shows the dialog on the pc screen to mount the device.
I tried a hard reset, but does not work
On some point, the sony logo appeared and then a dialog saying: "sorry process system is not responding". The first time I pressed Force Close and the phone turned off. Immediately after that, the phone turned on and showed the exact message. I pressed "Wait" but nothing happened in the next 15 minutes.
I called Sony's support center and they suggested a software update. Did the process exactly as it should, but again, even after the software update the screen shows nothing but black. It is all the time brightened for some reason.
I tried to turn off the phone for some time by removing the battery, but as soon as I put the battery back on, the phone's screen brightens and stays that way forever.
The phone was functioning perfectly up until this issue. The only application I had installed apart from some games, was AWDLauncher. On the screen I had only a TASK widget and a battery status widget.
The phone is 3 months old and has been always in perfect condition.
ANY help would be appreciated!!!!
Many Thanks
Try to format phone with this method hope it should work as it seems the issue is with OS only ..

I tried the steps found in the link you gave me, but I couldn't go any further after step no (5) from the tutorial, as it would require to enable Debugging mode and I cannot access the OS (since the device won't turn on).
Is there a way to format all the contents of the device and have them replaced by running SEUS (as it always says that my device is up to date now)?
Was it this:
http://www.sonyericsson.com/cws/sup.../detailed/updateservice/xperiax10?cc=gb&lc=en
That Sony Ericsson told you to do?
If not, use that.
Download it, follow the steps when it says you have the latest version, press "Install Anyway".
Hope this works.
Hi itTim. thanks for the response
this is what i did but no improvement at all ((
Sounds like you broke your LCD screen somehow.
That would suck because I broke mine and it cost me $200 to fix.
Hi Hypercore.
Yes that could be the problem. The thing is that I always took rally good care of the phone, always carried in a leather pouch and never droped it. How sensitive is this lcd anyway?? Did you notice any cracks on your lcd or was the problem simillar to mine?
Thanks
When you turn on the phone does the lcd backlight turn on?
If so, look for any faint lines of color (usually a hairline size). If you see any of those then your screen is cracked.
the backlight is on, but there are no lines of colour on the lcd screen.
another weird thing is that the green light on the top blinks one or two times every time i put on the battery. even if the phone is off, once I insert the battery turns on automatically after a couple of seconds.
If all else fails you could try to flash back to your original fw with the tools here:

That won't do anything.
I had almost the same issue. Nothing worked. But, when I removed the battery and left it for a day (24h) without it, it just started working again. Still working without issues..
Good luck!

Phones are very wierd pieces of technology. I once bricked my k610i and that's a phone that's supposed to be impossible to un-brick, but out of nowhere a month or so later i picked it up, hit power and it turned on perfectly. Made no sense at all, but it worked.
Taking the battery out for a long time probably took all the electrical charges from it (kind of like how a computer power supply / monitor can hold power charges) and reset your handset.

Indeed. It could be a frozen chip, memory fault, power-regulator and so on.

if you have done this and did not worked , then it is the LCD.
send it to workshop and check it there.
Guys i Really need the solve of this problem , my xperia has blank screen now without backlight and the phone completely doesn't work . when i put the battery and prees the switch botton it gives me 3 red signals , i've updated and hard reset but it didn't work , and btw the LCD is fine , any idea. did removing the battery worked???? . please answer
After a looooot of time since my latest post, finally my Xperia came back to life. There was a battery failure which means the phone was ok all the time. Weird thing is that the led light showed that the battery was charging ok. I removed the battery and after a lot of time it is working ok again. This was really really odd.
FYI for anyone else that gets this issue.
I just had this for the past hour after trying to change my baseband....could not get it back for anything.
What I did finally try was run another baseband via flash tool, connected to usb and it started flashing....after flash phone powered on again...yeah I agree with everyone, that is freaking scary when it happens.

[Q] HTC One Display Wont Turn on

Hello to everyone in this Awesome forum, long time lurker here, first time poster. I have a vast experience flashing Roms on a plethora of devices From My Huawei Ascend/Htc Amaze and plenty more but today my Lack of knowledge has finally caught up and I flashed CM10.1 on my HTC One(M7) and it was working fine but until earlier today when my screen went off and it wont come back on... I called my phone and the call goes thru you can see the soft keys turn on but the screen stays off, now when I long press the power/IR button the soft keys flash many times but the phone doesn't Reboot it just keeps flashing. Any help would be greatly appreciated. and yes to the trolls out there I have been looking on the forum for around 3 hours and all I can find is HTC One X post... Thanks For the HElp
You need to hold down the power button for 10 secs and it should reboot. If not you can try to boot into recovery using adb on your computer.
If you still can't see your screen then try using this app called [email protected] on your pc to try and mirror your phone.

Thanks for the suggestions, ill post back if any of them work.
(Update) it seems my phone is not on adb debug so it wont work with the latter and when it comes to the power hold I've been holding for longer than a min and nothing happens... thanks tho
I had this same exact problem last night, I just plugged back into the charger(the one connected to the wall outlet) and the screen came back on and it asked for my SIM card lock passcode, after that then it rebooted itself, and has been working fine since.
Hope this helps

hi all,
i had same problem, it happened second time, after i finish phone call, screen can not turn on while phone is on, volume keys react, and there is sound from incoming call.
tried to reboot, tried to to enter to recovery mode, every time two led buttons at the bottom were on or blinking.
first time when it happened reboot (hold power button for 10 sec) helped, and second time nothing could help, after about hour it started to work again.
very strange, i changed version and waiting for results.
This is most likely an issue with the light sensor at the top left of the front of the phone..
I've noticed similar symptoms during calls.. but if you are near a bright light the screen will become visible.
Additionally.. i recently had an issue where the phone shut off and wouldnt turn back on.. i held a bright light to the light sensor and then held the power down along with Volume -/+ buttons and the issue resolved itself..
the light sensor...
I had the same problems with the screen... first it was happen randomly from time to time. Plug it to charging and blank screen. Not responding to hard buttons. And come up from alone. All this happen few times until today... Does not matter what you do, the screen remain black and dead. Start thinking for replacement of the screen(which is very costly and seems that need to be done by htc=$200).
The case: the light sensor working in kind of revers mode. Means when there is light screen is still shot off(the chip did not get the proper signal and "think" it is still dark) so the screen is out of power and all the hard button and soft as well are out of any function. Pressing the power button ends up flashing soft home and revers on the screen, same as described in the first post.
THE SOLUTION: take a led flash light(i used another phone flash light) and light the sensor in the upper left corner of the phone. If this is the problem the screen will immediately come on. Then press the power button and restart the phone to reset the logic signal to the chip and to have proper reading. NOTE: it is kind of hard to operate the phone and light at the same time the sensor with the flash light. If needed get some help but you need sensor covered with light until restart the phone, otherwise the screen will become black immediately.
GOOD LUCK,

[Q] galaxy S3 dark scrren

My galaxy S3 is showing a very weird problem. I was using the phone and before reaching home the battery when completely flat. When I arrived home and plugged the phone to the wall charger the screen remains dark, black. Now the battery is full charged (green light) but the screen remains to the same estate. When someone calls me the phone rings. When I plug it to the computer I can see the files inside the different drives. I reinstalled the OS that is 4.3 but still same problem. I didn't drop the phone and It didn't have any shock.
That is weird. I am thinking of a dead screen but before going for a chirgucal operation on my beloved phone I wanted to ask if that couldn't be a software problem.
Happy to hear from your experiences.
Boot into download mode, volume down + home then power button. If the screen is dead in download then it is hardware.

never heard this type of problem
try to go into recovery and check if it displays anything
If successful do factory reset
In download mode i can see nothing. That is really weird. I am letting the battery drain completely and i will check. Thank you for your replies
I wanted to upgrade so far what i am getting. The screen while dark, black is reacting to touch actions: for exemple when i lock the phone with the power button i can hear the lock sound;when i unlock with the lide action on the screen, I can hear the unlocking sound. I think that must be a weird system problem. If the screen was broken will it react to such touch actions?
Lide=slide. I can actually take a call with the slide action on the screen. When someone calls me i just have to slide my finder at the proper place on the screen to take the call. I need help please.
Most probably its the hardware. Your LED seems to be ditching you. And yes a bad led can still response to touch despite of being black all the way. Actually it's the digitizer that responds to the touch NOT the LED itself.
In your cas3 so far from your feedback I can say that you are having a bad LED everything else including the digitizer is working well.

[Q] galaxy tab 10.1 not booting up

Today, when I turned my tablet on, I immediately noticed two things. One, the battery was critically low. Two, my homepage looked strange. Everything was not only fuzzy, but it also had a "thermal camera" effect, where everything was either bright yellow, red, green, or blue.
I had to board a plane at the time so I was like, "Fudge. I'll deal with this later" and shoved it back in my purse.
When I got to my hotel, after having charged the tablet for several hours, I tried to boot it up but it wouldn't work.
I restarted the device but that didn't fix the problem either. Now it just stays on a lit up blank black screen. Occasionally static horizontal lines will flicker across the screen but mainly it remains as the lit up blank black screen of death.
Please help! I am not computer or tech savvy. I also did try holding down the power and volume keys simultaneously as others suggested but that didn't work either. Please help. Thanks guys.
This may be important info: I felt my tablet get really hot two days ago.

I'm not really sure but this sounds like a busted digitizer. And that's hardware. If your computer can still read from your tab while it's booted up and connected now would be a really good time to save all your data. You could take it to a repair shop. If it's not too expensive to fix do it otherwise I would be looking at a new tab.

Press briefly on Power button while it's charging. If you don't see the battery charging icon I'm afraid it's a hardware issue.

Galaxy s2 screen goes black and unresponsive after a while

The title almost says it all,
If I leave my phone running for a while, even at idle, my Galaxy sII's screen sometimes goes black and the phone doesn't respond if I press volume buttons or the power/home button, the screen does not light up and it is as if the phone is dead, but it is running because my computer recognizes it upon plugging in and I can transfer files.
If I had music playing while the problem happened, the music continues playing but the screen is black and the buttons are unresponsive. It seems that the phone works but after a while of usage, it just turns black and I have to take off the battery to get it to reboot and work fine again.
It was running on android 4.2 if I remember as it was a secondhand phone, possibly rooted and experimented around by the previous owner. I tried flashing it to CM12 but the problem still persists.
Has anyone ever ran into this problem? What might be the cause and cure?

If it's doing that even in other ROMs then I'd say it's a hardware issue, maybe proximity sensor, under normal circumstances the screen stays black and won't wake when you press the power button, when the proximity sensor detects something close or when the sensor is covered it keeps the screen off, it could be faulty and acting as if it detects something even though it isn't there.
Or it could be the battery maybe?
