This maynot be possible, but is there a way to keep the stock rom. Do a market fix to get the whole market, and add cpu master to over clock, and change to a different launcher? Seems like everytime I load a custom rom there is always something that doesn't work.

HI everyone, the touchwiz program monitor is gone after flashing a custom rom. I guess the developer intentionally left out the widget, which i found is very useful, at least to me. I would like to know how i can get back the widget. i have tried sdx stock app removal method. It didn't work. Is there any flashable zip file for that widget??? I really like that widget. Thanks
I am trying to clear out EVERYTHING that is not necessary for the functioning of this device. I do not need web browsing, music player, video playback, calendar, etc. I have tried to customize stock ROM 4349 with no such luck, I can not manage to get the ROM to boot after install even after doing a cache / data wipe. Does anyone got any suggestions or know of a "empty" stock ROM I could use?
You could delete all the apk files your not interested in with any of the custom roms.
Well the guy I am doing it for wants it as close to stock as possible. He wants them to rin just a single custom made application with very little other functionality. Including underclocked processor, and minimal background apps. I was trying to build a custom ROM but I am assuming I am having an issue with the updater-script file.
Hi.
Trying to figure this out:
If I install a custom launcher on my stock vibrant, this means the Touch Wiz is not being implemented/used? Or do I have to remove it via root privileges?
-nope, replacing touch wiz launcher does not remove touch wiz USER INTERFACE.
-lol, no. flash an aosp rom.
THANK YOU
What about a way of using Titanium to remove it? Or that's not possible?
it won't work. you have to flash a different ROM like Cyanogen, MIUI, ICS, or any open source based ROM if you wish to get rid if touch wiz all together.
This is because touch wiz interface is a system. Not just a launcher but also includes system apps (but not limited to) mms, dialer, contacts, music player, settings, widgets, etc.

When I flash an AOSP rom and it goes to the Android is updating screen it says that I have around 100 apps, but when I flash a sense rom it says it's updating around 250 apps. Anyone have any suggestions on where I need to look to eliminate these extra files? I've used ROM cleaner and a few different file explorers to try and fix it.
Sense ROM's have many more files, hence the difference in apps you see updating. You can use ROM cleaner to get rid of some of those apps, but it'll still be larger than most AOSP ROM's.
The advice is free....the bandwidth, not so much
