Since the Optimus Slide is made by LG, they should publish the source.
Is anyone planning on dropping a Vanilla ROM for this 2.3 phone (Cyanogen-ish)?

I thought I posted it in Sidekick 4g General...
... Yup, I did.

does someone have the code for the evo can it be ported over?
I believe the only chance is when the Legend or Wildfire comes out with 2.2 since the hardware is very similar.
Best bet is a Legend port when it comes (if it comes, apparently it's been discontinued on Bell in Canada?), since it has similar hardware and isn't an HDPI device like the Evo 4G or other 840*480 Sense phones.
Also, doesnt the [Q] tag indicate to you that you should post this in... questions and answers? We do have a dedicated subforum for that...

The legend would be easier. The WildFire has a smaller res screen, so porting it over would be a nightmare, as you'd have to redo all of the graphics to fit the Hero.
Someone correct me if I'm wrong !

The problem with posting stuff in other forums is that you never get a very good response there. Many people, especially devs and others with the technical knowledge to answer this question, would not hang out in the other forums. The dev forum is the only place where this question will get the attention it deserves.
This kinda proves that the forums here need a bit of a reorganizing.
Perhaps one subforum for actually posting ROMs themselves, and another for everything else. Splitting it into five subforums per device is pointless and just means that threads in the less busy forums never get noticed.
That question is too frequent...try to use the search tool before posting..
Moved to Q&A as not development.
Hi SGS2 peeps,
First off I'm a epic 4g user, my girl friend bought SGS2 i9100 so I headed to XDA right away.
Looked under SGS2 i9100 there are 2 developments?? Thats confusing I had to read through http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1175660 to understand what exactly the issue is,
Anyways to voice my opinion I DON'T support split at all.
Reason: As a mere new user I don't want to look in two places and decide what to do more than anything else it is confusing.
If any developer so want to then they can easily create their own web portal for e.g. ACSyndicate over at EPIC 4G, they have probably the best ROMs for epic and have their own website, however they still actively post new development over here at XDA as well.
Anyways thats just my view, I don't think it matters to mods. So the question is: Which ROM currently users are favoring? and is there any separate forum (other than XDA) for SGS2 to follow ?
I dont support the same question or topic posted multiple times .
Nor do i support questions posted in the wrong forum .

Even I don't like duplicate questions but if above mentioned thread was not closed I would have replied to that only.
Well in any case if this thread is so much bothering, moderators can delete / move it, I'm pretty sure they can do this much after going all the way to split the forum.
First, I think that should be a Q&A section for the Amaze. Secondly, my question:
Is there a way to port bravia engine to the Amaze, just like they did to the Sensation ?

You just posted in the Q&A section.
Amaze 4G General
Discussion about the T-Mobile HTC Amaze 4G (general chat, tips & tricks, Q&A, etc)
I've officially seen it all now. Unless someone posts a thread about starting a forum to talk about smartphones. LOL! Anyway to answer your second question, I'm sure it's possible but somethings probably wouldn't work. We're having difficulties in some areas with this device. S-ON, wifi drivers in a supposedly open source, etc.
Hello all,
I have been working on trying to port Clockworkmod Recovery to my LG MyTouch Q for quite some time. I have been using the forum over at http://androidforums.com/mytouch-q-...rk-progress-porting-custom-recovery-over.html because it is very sparse. There is a current thread for e739/c800, but is jammed with e739 info (an actual dev is working with it, no dev for c800).
I am making this post to see if anyone is willing to help me out as I have hit a wall. Basically everything is listed on that post about what i've done and where i'm at. If I can't get this working I'm just going to give up because I can't figure out what I haven't gotten and am running out of time in the day to work on it.
NOTE: I do thank everyone that has contributed so far.
This needs a bump. This phone has been left in the dust while the LG MyTouch has been getting ROMs. Same phone (specs wise) except for smaller screen size and a physical keyboard

Moving to Q&A
i'm hoping that a mod sees this and can help... my question is, now that we have got the LG Tribute rooted, there seems to be a lot more activity regarding development and other discussions lately.
i think it would be beneficial for us to have a forum where we can organize the information we have for the LG Tribute. i have several threads i'm wanting to create, but i don't know where to put them... i don't want to keep peppering the general forums with Tribute-related talk.
so could we possibly get a subforum somewhere for the Tribute and have the existing threads in this subforum moved into it?
thanks!
I second that request! Thanks!
*bump*
anyone? is this possible?
