I am sure that many of you are watching iPhone's 4S new application Siri, your thoughts are "I hope there will be an app like Siri for my phone". Well you hope right.
Iris is the "Sister" of Siri, but for Android. I found the app from a post of one of my friends on Google+. Well, it was on French so I didn't understand a lot of what he was saying. I just saw the title "Iris, Siri pour Android", and then I Googled it.
I found it on Android Market, it's in Alpha version and it's update rate is way too fast. 2 updates in just 30 minutes.
The developer Dexetra seems to work hard for it. You can give it a try. It's FREE. Also leave a comment and rate the app to help the developer on his work.(By supporting him)

And here the app Description on Android Market:
"iris. makes your phone talk on topics ranging from Einstein to Mozart.
Yeah, Iris is siri in reverse. Inspired from the iPhone feature Siri, iris interacts with you in voice.
Gone are the days when you "Google searched" for information.
Just "ask" iris. She will talk to you on any topic. Ranging from Philosophy, Culture, History, science to general conversation.
Note: You need to have "Voice Search" and "TTS library" installed in your phone for iris. to work. Most of the phones have these pre-installed, if not please install them from Android market before you try iris."
Finally, the link to the App page on Android Market:

Thanks for reading!
Yeah, that's right! It's pretty obvious that Android pwns iOS in so many ways!
Iris vs Siri
IT works, but gives every time a FC i say something, but i still can hear what she responds in the background.
It works for me but I have to wait too much to get answer. Anyway great app as its still in alpha.

That's weird, for me it's working like a charm. Maybe you should update something. Maybe the Text-To-Speech Library, or Voice Search.
I tested on GDX v017.
Tested on gdx v017 it works and everything but the voice recognition is so bad. When i say "whats my name" it recognizes it as "so nice weather" and others like that ;/ any solution?

Hey Hey, you shouldn't blame someone for something. It's still in Alpha Version. It's true that it reports some wrong words like the word "kill". I asked "Do you want to kill me", and it reported "Do you want to give it to me" and then it answered "I don't think so".
I also installed it, but the app always says: "No speech input". I got Pico TTS and eSpeak TTS installed. Any ideas?
iris isnt bad but theres alot that still has 2 be done. Try out Vlingo, its free on the market and is acually very good, i suggest you all give it a go!

Just wanted to post this as a heads up that, at least for now, "Perfect Keyboard" is free to XDA members. You purchase it on the market and then PM the developer the transaction number, and he will issue a refund.
I got mine today, and i must say im sticking with it for a while. Ive tried sooo many keyboards but i always end up going back to Swype. I just like the look and feel of this one. Its highly customizeable, visually. In terms of function, it seems to be based off the gingerbread keyboard, with a few extra goodies. give it a shot!!! Personally i think its amazing, swift key is great but took some getting used to, prior to this keyboard i was using gb keyboard, this has much the same feel, but the text prediction is much much better. not to mention you can easily theme it from with in the application with out modifying the apk.
that said the text prediction in swiftkey is far different, you will type more in Perfect Keyboard, but you wont get very many errors.
bottom line swiftkey is more efficient, but i feel that perfect keyboard is just a better fit for me, very straight forward and very high quality.
Thanks Top shelf great find !!!

This app has been amazing visually and I've been really happy with it but all day today it has be misreading my typing, randomly selecting keys all the way across the screen from where I press, lagging, not reading keys and etc. I tried restarting the phone but still have the problem. I agree with your choices. I myself have tried pretty much all Siri clones for Android. But in my opinion, nothing comes as close to Siri as Andy for Android. Andy seems to be getting about 70-80% of all my questions. To be honest, I am not sure how they do it, because database is not installed locally, app is too small for that. But it's also extremely fast. Responding almost immedially when I am on my home wifi. Outside on 3g it is little slower.
Anyhow, I've got it from Android Market by searching for: ANDY
Only disadvantage is that it has a pretty ugly interface, but as I've said, it's very functional.
Translate it please.
Regards,
Justin.
OMG! Is it made from the protocols cracked from siri by some hackers? And can you please tell us the source? It will be nice to examine the main source.
PS. @OP AFAIK Cluzee is not siri port, but yet another siri clone.
It can't be translated
Reason: Google's servers for voice are private and secure so = no English

Such stupidity, to use kinetic movement you'd need an convertor that transforms movement into energy, no phone has that.
Solar panels are a affordable and efficient way to charge a phone but kinetic motion is just stupid.

I've downloaded this app "Shake to charge" on my Desire HD, I read the market comments and knew they were cynical, I thought I try it for myself, Shaked and shaked and shaked, while simultaneously checking the battery, it went down faster, It's a troll probably a good concept troll, ben heck did an android kinetic energy converter (YouTube it) that's the only way, phone companies will not do this for obvious reasons .
I also wanted to try the "solar" charge app, but c'mon :} rly !

Flipboard for Android is now available from the official site (after register and waiting) and I have it for you guys now. It is little bit different from Samsung version and now it has update function also.
Here is latest version for Android generic
It says first after installation, not suitable for your phone bla bla bla, but just ignore it.

Really Great!
It's very nice and I* love the "paper scrolling"
Though I don't know which to use between Pulse, Currents, Taptu and Flipboard
Flipboard is still in early beta and looks and feel like an iphone app but I love the functions and "slide left to right to go back" function!
Pulse has been acting very weird lately and the scrolling is laggy, though I love the look of the app and the Pulse.me website!
Currents only supports RSS and take up a lot of space, but it caches the images which is really important! Though I don't like than you have pages that you scroll left or right and the bottom toolbar is way too small even on a 4.3 inch screen! it's not that good!
Taptu which I'm using right now is really good and probably the best of them! I really recommend!
Though I wish all had an easy to use "add to pocket" button instead of sharing to Pocket!
New version released today for Android
v.1.8.4. beta 2_74
Enjoy!
