I had gapps in the cminstall folder when I used novacom. I booted the Tablet into CM7 and it went directly to the desktop. No 'First Time Setup' screen where you click on the Android cartoon or Market.
do it in CWM.
Just did. Let's see.......
It worked. Thanks. Admins please delete.
I had my gapps in the cminstall folder during install and it worked fine. Just make sure the gapps file is properly named....update-* I believe. Either way will work fine.

I got clockworkmod working fine, but I am unable to loan ROMs. Whenever I downloand a ROM it opens in muiltiple files and it also happens with TNT, Thi is where Im stuck
Step 3.
Copy whatever ROM you wish to install (it should be a .zip file) to the ROMs folder on your tablet. (Leave it zipped, Clockwork will install it from the .zip file as is). trying to get VEGan 5.1 final
Note: If the ROM you downloaded has multiple files, look for the one named “update.zip” and rename it to whatever you want (something to help you differentiate it from other ROMs), then copy that to the tablet. If an “update.zip” doesn’t exist, and you’re lost…read through that ROM’s thread and see if anybody else asked about it…if not then you probably should (on that ROM’s thread…each one is different).
I cant fiqure how to get the update.zip. When I do open the files i get 3 files
META_INF,boot, and system. I tried to copy and paste all three files in the ROMs, but it never show the update.zip
You don't need an update.zip with clockworkmod recovery... you just need the rom that is zipped and can be named anything.
Stop unzipping the rom you are downloading and just copy it to your device. Install that with clockworkmod recovery.

you've answered your own question, the rar or zip file you downloaded might be in diff names, but always leave it in zip format. if in rar, unrar and the zip file should be in it.
in clockwork recovery, you can update by update.zip or choose your own zip

That is my problem, if automaticly unzips when it downloads. I am not sure if its my windows setting becaue I am unable to download TNT lite because I keep getting " windows can no opem" message. Is there a way i can prevent it from unzipping? Thanks BTW
maybe use a diff browser to download or right click on link and "save as"
You might be hitting open instead of save ...
down load it direct to your Gtab
Download the file directly to your tab. Use ES file explorer to move it to your SD card if necessary. Reboot in to clock work - choose file from SD card-select it and install.
I seem to have installed it but when I reboot and should be offered the chance to boot into WebOS or Cyanogen I am offered:
boot webOS
boot ClockworkMod
boot webOS recovery
reboot
shutdown
What have I done wrong and could it be qa case of just having to start again? I want to make sure that's safe, that's why I'm posting. Maybe I should add that I couldn't find the folder where the Novacom drivers were installed (on a mac Lion 7.2) so just typed this into Terminal
novacom boot mem:// </Users/tonyohooligan/Desktop/ACMEInstaller
Andy ideas?
There should be a "Space" after the "<" sign.
novacom boot mem:// < /Users/tonyohooligan/Desktop/ACMEInstaller
Did you place the GAPPS moboot Clockwork and CM7 .zip on the cminstall folder?
Also make sure you add "update-" at the beginning of every .zip
Hope that helps.
OK, there wasn't a space so there's something I have got wrong. Can I just start again from the beginning (placing the zip files in the cminstall folder, running ACMEInstaller etc) without damaging anything? Not sure about what you mean about adding 'update-' at the beginning of every .zip, is that to the start of the file name of each .zip if I attempt the procedure again? Thanks for replying BTW, much appreciated.

Yes the "update-" at the start of every files helps the ACMEInstaller identify everything properly. Give it a try again.
Good Luck.
Will do, I'll let you know how it goes....
Rather annoyingly I have got the same result, no Cyanogen option at the multi boot stage. All zip files have gone from the cminstall folder as well. I rather get the feeling that I need to erase everything and start again but have no idea how to do that...
I wonder if I use Clockwork Mod to install Cyanogen, reckon that will work?
Hmm, got a message saying that it can't open the zip (bad). Going to download that file (update-cm-7.1.0-tenderloin-a2.1-fullofbugs.zip) again.

Try running the ACMEUninstaller. You do so the same way you do the Installer and start all over again. Seems weird you cannot get it done. Are you sure the folder is "cminstall" and not CMinstall Cminstall etc?
OK, all installed, it was either the missing space or a dodgy .zip file. Either way thanks for taking the time to help me out atapia984 it is really appreciated.

Anytime Have fun. Keep a look around at some of the other threads for troubleshooting. It is all out there.
Sent from my PC36100.
Thought I should just outline what I did to put this right in case anyone else has the same problem. I downloaded the ACMEUninstaller from here:
http://www.google.co.uk/url?sa=t&rc...-cW9Cw&usg=AFQjCNHZTu7Aghf80vOjo4Pa7Feslo0SmA
and put it on the desktop. Then I made sure the Touchpad was connected via USB and put the Touchpad in recovery mode (reboot, hold down volume up before power comes back on again) then opened the Terminal and typed:
novacom boot mem:// < /Users/tonyohooligan/Desktop/ACMEUninstaller
This deleted everything from the Touchpad. I then followed the instructions again and this time Cyanogen installed perfectly. Seems like a pretty damn good Alpha version as well, haven't had a crash yet. Thanks once again to atapia for all the help.
One last thing atapia, is there anywhere to report bugs as I find them without getting on the devs nerves?
I was following the cm wiki tutorial
I put the moboot, cwm, Cm9 3/10 build and gapp into the cminstall and i did the ACMEinstall. moboot come up, good, however, CWM is not showing up in the boot manual and when I try to load cm9, it try to load and then it reboot and put me back at moboot manual. Luckily, web os still work. However, I am not sure as to what to do to get Clockworkmod and cm9 to install correctly. Please advice.
Did you use AcmeInstaller, or AcmeInstaller2? You are supposed to use Acmeinstaller2 for CM9.
At this point, use Acmeuninstaller to wipe the android partition off, and try again from scratch.
Believe it or not I can't find a download link for Acmeuninstaller. Can someoen pm me the link? Now i figure out why cm 9 won;t work but what about clockworkmod? How come it won't install.
After i run the uninstall do I need to install moboot again?
google "acmeinstaller2". it should be the first hit. I'd post a link, but I just registered.

heres everything in one shot for you. if you cant get the recovery to install you can extract the files from cwm.zip folder and put the uimage.clockworkmod into the /boot folder then run try rebooting if still nothing try running the update script manually as root in terminal emulator from android. hope this helps.
I manage tio fix the cmw issue by using novacom the image of the cmw and force cmw install from sd.
Hello,
For a while now I have not have acess to editors choice apps nor top apps. Here is the fix.
1. Place the zip file at this link into the Main storage of device.
2. Take a look into the ROM zip file you flashed earlier or you are using ( system/app) and delete phonesky.apk and marketupdater.apk or vending.apk
( please make sure you have a separate saved ROM zip file bfore editing. just a precaution).
3.place the phonesky.apk in the zip file above or at the link ( system/app to get, to phonesky.apk) into the ROM zip file you are using.
4.Boot into CWM and Reflash ROM zip file. reboot device.
5.Boot into CWM and flash the zip file in the link above.
6. You are done. you should see the image attached to the thread, that's the full gplay look.
Please enjoy.
Thanks

I have CM 10.1.3 installed on my i9100 and I flashed the ZIP file from the thread at the bottom of this post through CWM Recovery. Now, my phone is stuck at the boot screen.
I would realllly hate to reinstall my ROM and all apps, so I'd just like to fix the problem. The ZIP makes changes to the 'SurfaceFlinger' library. Could I reflash a ZIP of the original library? Any idea how I could get the file?
surfaceflinger-fix.zip
http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-nexus/development/fix-lag-fix-cm10-based-roms-cm10-t1875490
SOLUTION:
The only file that surfaceflinger-fix.zip affects is libsurfaceflinger.so. So, I tried extracting this file from a copy of the CM 10.1 zip file. libsurfaceflinger.so is located in system/lib. I then created a flashable ZIP using this guide:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2163974
I flashed the ZIP after pushing it via 'ADB push sample.zip /sdcard'. I installed the ZIP via CWM Recovery. Clear caches, reboot. STILL DIDN"T WORK.
So then I took a look a look in the META-INF folder of surfaceflinger-fix.zip and noticed some additional files that I did not have in my custom 'sample.zip'. So, I just took the libsurfaceflinger.so file that I extracted from CM 10.1 and put this file in surfaceflinger-fix.zip, replacing the original one in the ZIP file. Pushed this ZIP via ADB, everything works.
Had you taken a backup prior to flashing the zip it would've been five minutes work fixing your problem, I'm sure there's a lesson for all of us there.

This was definitely easier and this is a better fix than using a backup, but I absolutely agree with you.
