Bluetooth Messaging Access Profile (MAP) on HD2 - HD2 Windows Mobile 6.5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I've got a HP Touchpad and a recent update has enabled pairing with any phone over Bluetooth. One of the features enabled is that you can send & receive text messages on the Touchpad but only if it allows Bluetooth Messaging Access Profile (MAP). Does the HD2 have this feature because I can't seem to find it in the bluetooth settings.
Phone
You can now pair a phone that is not a webOS phone to the TouchPad, so you can answer calls on the TouchPad.
NOTE: Most devices cannot send or receive SMS (text messages) from the TouchPad. The SMS Mirroring functionality needed to send and receive SMS from the TouchPad requires the Bluetooth Message Access Profile (MAP) to be supported by the phone.

SMS from Phone to Archos 101

Are there any apps that will divert sms from my phone (HTC Touch HD) to my A101, and let me send SMS from my A101 via my phone?
Many thanks
I use Google Voice. It lets my SMSes send and receive on any device. The Archos still can't do voice calls yet, but the SMS works fine.
You have to have a google voice number, or port your cell's number to google for $20, but it makes life very nice. You get Voicemails in the same Inbox, with a recording and the Voice-to-text, so I can check my Voicemails on my Archos too.
I attached the version that works for me. Set up your phone first, then when setting up the Archos, select your cell phone as the "current device."

[Q] connect Evo to Touchpad via Bluetooth

hello all,
I have just updated my TP to 3.0.4 and was eager to see that we can now connect none palm phones to the TP and send/receive phone calls and sms via the TP. THe good news is that now my TP does recognize my Evo (running Decks ROM / CM7 based) but I can not use it for anything, not even to transfer files (pictures, documents, etc...) does anyone know how to correct this? Or is this feature still not supported for the Evo? TIA.
Having same problem with EVO and TP paring.
I have also been able to pare my HTC EVO with the TP as a phone but cannot make or receive calls, send or receive sms messages. Every time I try the TP has a pop up that states Must be connected to phone, I click on this and verify that the EVO is connected but still cannot do anything?
If your touchpad is connected to your phone via bluetooth, and you have that blue check on your touchpad saying your connected, then you're good to go.
However, I believe your only limited to receiving phone calls on your touchpad, nothing else. No making phone calls, no sending/receiving files.
Give it a shot: connect it via bluetooth, make sure its connected, and call your cell phone from a house phone or something. Your hp touchpad should light up prompting you to receive the call.
The bluetooth profile required for all of this to work properly is implemented on very few handsets. It doesn't work properly for most people.
A number of recent HTC handsets supposedly support it, but it sounds like the Evo doesn't.

you sir, are correct. I am only able to receive phone calls. Anyone referencing this thread should know that (at least with the evo) you can not make phone calls, send/receive sms or mms, or transfer files via Bluetooth. You can only receive calls. Maybe someone in the dev community will create a fix or patch for this in time. In any event, its an improvement.
I was able to pair my HTC Sensation to my touchpad and was able to make/receive calls and send/receive text messages
Mods for EVO?
Are there mods that can be made to a rooted EVO that would allow to both send and receive calls and sms? If so what and where would they be found?

[Q] Message Access Profile (MAP) Bluetooth

Can anyone with a note already AND a car system that uses Message Access Profile (MAP) check to see if it works with the note? This should allow systems like Ford Sync, to read and send SMS over the bluetooth.
The international version of the note doesn't work with BMW's connected office (SMS and email), voice and contacts sync just fine. I too am looking for a way to enable the MAP bluetooth profile on a note.

Ah, I'll try it - I have an aftermarket head unit that started displaying SMS messages when I got my Photon 4G. I haven't paired it with the Note yet. From the post above mine it sounds like it might not work though.

There are multiple iterations of Sync (varies vehicle and year) however on my 2011 Ford F150 Platinum it will not work.
Doesn't work for me either, but my JVC unit does work with my Photon so I assume it is a limitation of the phone. Not that I want to read txts while driving anyway.
Sent from my Samsung Galaxy Note
Does anyone else have any further information regarding MAP and the Note? I haven't been able to find much.
Any updates rom that supports this

This can be done for free on Webos , How to pair(almost) any phone with TouchPad to send and recv SMS/Calls!!! Like Pre3 http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1290274. i have done this myself and it works perfectly.
Also if you install SMS Backup+ on your phone you can link to any Gmail A/C and Automatically backup SMS, MMS and call log entries using a separate label in Gmail / Google Calendar. It is also possible to restore SMS and call log entries back to the phone.

Hope this is of use.
yes i know that this can be done in webos, i did it there and i was exited to find a way to do it in cm9 too cause its sooo cool feature not only about sms but for handling calls too. So now i have another reason to get anxious for microphone fix
anyway its an easy and unique app that i was looking from the first time a got my tp so i thought to share it.

Uconnect text messaging

Has anyone been able to get text messaging through Uconnect to work? I have an 8.4 and the option is disabled because the phone isn't compatible. I beleive it needs the MAP Bluetooth profile which this phone has. I do have text messaging enabled through the Bluetooth settings on the phone.
