last night i had my tbolt charging. the phone was off while charging, and it was left plugged in for a few hours beyond the led changing over to green.
after i unplugged the phone and went to turn it on, well... it wouldn't turn on. i did feel the initial vibrate i always get right before the htc screen comes on, however, the screen never came on. i ended up having to pop the battery out and then after putting it back in the phone booted normally.
however, now it seems as though my battery is draining way faster than it has been. i've had the phone a few weeks and the battery has been properly conditioned. after taking it off the charger at approx 2:00am this morning, a mere 10 hours later (whilst completely in standby for the entire time) it's already down to 83%.
what gives? could this just be an accuracy issue with the reported levels? i've read about fully charging and booting in to recovery to reset battery stats. or is it a far worse issue and something has happened to my phone that's damaged the battery in some way?
btw, i'm rooted and running das bamf remix 1.7 with imoseyon's leankernel (running in normal mode with swap enabled).
just a quick update:
after some moderate use (texting, web browsing, downloaded a few market apps) the battery continues to drop much faster than it ever did before. i'm using wifi at the moment.
Have you cleared battery stats lately?

no, but i'm going to do just that tomorrow after work when i have a chance to fully charge the phone.
one other thing i just realized that may be contributing to the problem though... my g/f was playing around with my phone and she signed into latitude. doh!
Having a few small problems with my phone. I sent it back recently to have the USB port changed and was given a new battery, and now when using ICS (LPB) build, when the battery is more than 50% it says its charging when its not connected (in system - status it says it is disconnected). Using the Samsung ICS it says charging paused because of over voltage. CM it just says charging. If I try to reboot with a nearly full battery, it gets stuck on the off-mode charging animation, meaning I have to reinsert a different battery. This has now carried over to GB (KK5), charging indicator saying charging, charging animation when off etc. Any ideas? Is this a battery/charger problem or a phone problem? Don't want to send the phone back again for a fortnight for some rubbish fix that won't hold.
So basically,
1. Battery more than 50%, phone thinks its charging.
2. Turn off with more than 50%, phone will play charging animation and won't turn on (just reboots/loops to charging animation, even when plugged into charger)
Now happening in both GB and ICS. Any help? "Might" just accidentally use it near liquid and claim insurance, but that's last resort.
Anyone help? Or is anyone else experiencing this?

Hi,
My Moto Photon won't charge anymore via the USB port. The green light doesn't go on. But this isn't because the battery was deeply discharged. I tried to do my due diligence and search the problem.
This morning, my battery was down to 5%. I charged it at work, and it got up to 30%, but the phone was really really hot. There didn't seem to be any weird apps running or anything.
Anyways, I left it on and off, it left work at 20% charge. Then when I got home, it was down to 10%. But it wouldn't charge. The green light doesn't go one when I plug in the AC adapter and USB cable. It also wouldn't charge via the computer. While on, the computer didn't recognize the device.
I took the battery out. Blew on it. Restarted the phone. Still no dice. The battery indicator didn't indicate that it was charging either.
Now, the battery is pretty much dead. Won't boot up anymore.
Is this a battery issue or a phone issue? If I buy a new battery, would it solve the problem?
Thanks!
Try getting a battery replacement?

I've noticed the past month or so that my phone won't actually charge when I'm running navigation in my Moto car dock. I'm getting notification that it's charging, I'm seeing the battery icon update/animate, but after an hour or so of use the percentage stays at the same number or even dips down one or two.
I should clarify:
-Problem started a month ago, charged normally before then.
-Brightness is almost always set to full.
-If I'm not in Navigation (or GPS isn't being used) then phone will charge but slowly.
-If I turn off the screen altogether, the phone charges normally.
-The phone charges normally when connected to any other charger or dock.
I'm running the latest version of MROM and using the MROM sv kernel #44. I caught wind that it might be kernel related so I flashed hv #45 and will report back.
Hello,
I have the 16gb Nook Tablet with the OEM wall charger and cable.
Doesn't charge properly when I'm using custom roms. Example...
While using the tablet with brightness max, wifi on, watching netflix with the charger connected, the battery will drain.
The charger feels cool. I normally charge it while the tablet is off and takes forever like if I'm charger with the USB cable only from computer. lol
I tested with stable CM10.1, CM10.2, nightlies CM11, few other roms..
So I flash back to 1.42 stock Nook, brightness max, wifi on, watching netflix with the charger connected and it charges fine and fast (normal).
Charger feels warm, as it should cause its charging.
What seems to be the problem?

there's your problem. also i think the CM ROMs take longer to charge than B&N firmware because they allow charging through other cables and can't really differentiate between a normal cable and a B&n cable because of that.
but lower your brightness.
also, battery drain for me seems to be an average of like 1% every few minutes. that's normal for this device.
I should say even with lowest brightness and wifi off, it will still slow drain. Even though the it shows that the tablet is charging.
I have found that charging works fine on stock Nook, and on custom Gingerbread roms like soft-mod ribbon rom & miui rom.
Looking for an ICS rom to try next...
So CM10+, CM11 seems to be thinking it's charging from USB port...
What gives?
CM9 ICS charging fine.
Odd...
So with any CM10.X during boot up on the cyanoboot screen, it says "charging disabled" in green text just under "battery level"
I think that's why I can't charge with it on. Found a few thread from people with the same problem but no solution.
Any ideas?

that doesn't actually mean anything. my tab charges and i've seen that screen in cyanoboot before. i think it uses the B&N charging status which does not like third party chargers

Doesn't charge during boot-up
Or while you are in recovery.
And are you doing this with the charger and cable that came with your Nook? Or are you trying to recharge by hooking it up to the USB port on your computer?
could be you need a new charger or cable. I got mine from Fry's Electronics. B&N doesn't seem to carry them anymore.
Also don't charge it with the device off. Do it in either standby mode or while you are doing something else. If you don't need the WiFi connection, shut it down.
How many apps do you have open? Close any you don't need. Any that are open use CPU and Memory time, which slows down recharging and also depletes the battery quicker.
I can't figure this out, baffling me.
I have the Nook Tablet 16Gb BNTV250 with OEM wall charger & USB cable.
On stock Nook & unofficial CM7's/CM9's roms, the OEM wall charger/cable works fine.
I can have max brightness, WiFi on, volume max, watching NetFlix with low battery and the charger will charge it pretty quick/normal.
Now if I'm on any CM10's rom, I can't charge the tablet while it's on.
It will show that it's charging but it will drain instead.
Doesn't matter if I turn off WiFi, lower the brightness.
It won't keep up and just slow drain battery.
Only way to charge it is to turn it off and it takes ALL night to get to full.
It feels like as if it's being charged by USB to PC, slow slow slow.
I know it's not the OEM wall charger and USB cable. As I've said, stock nook or CM7/9 charge fine.
I can't find anything on this problem...
So I tried again on CM10 rom, downloaded an app that would tell me how the tablet is being charged.
Apparently the tablet thinks its being charged from a USB port even though I'm on the wall charger.
Hence the slow drain. it can't keep up. So it takes all night to charge it with the tablet off.
But I still don't why and how to fix it. Stock Nook, CM7/CM9 didn't have this problem.

You may need a new data cable.
I've reflashed stock, CM7/9 and it charges normally.
So it's something with these CM10's...I can't figure it out!
